Maybe someone out there can help me out...My sis in law has stated several times during some of our conversations that when a person falls away from God, that each time brings around 7 times worse. What the heck is she talking about? I've been reading my Bible but have not come across this yet. We have been discussing my husband, he needs salvation.
**A little background**He was brought up in a christian home with a dad who was a Pentecostal Preacher (he died 7/28/05). He was raised and in church for long time. Fell out. Got back in. Fell out. Got back in again in 1994/95 and fell out again and has not been back, with the exception of holidays. He was saved each time. Would appreciate any help. Jen

Just because a person stops going to church does not mean he or she has backslidden. Nor does it mean that a deliverance is necessary. I don't have enough information about this person to give any real advice, but here's the Scripture reference you asked for.

Matthew 12:43-45 (New International Version)

43"When an evil[a] spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. 45Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation."

God bless,
