Hello, Hello Hello
Jerry we spent weeks at your meeting in the little store front in Oly. Wa several years ago. I am so glad to find you again.
Finally some one I trust I can ask this question to.
I went to a dear friends church. He was a friend for 30 yrs, problebly my best. Very annointed man of God. Then he started a church. Long story short he started to subscribe to replacement theology. It felt wrong in my spirit. But because I so trusted him my husband and I stayed. Well God intervined and we were spewed out of the church and that 30yr friendship was over.
We started at s church in Portland that we love that we felt very led to. But in Gods sense of humor this church is all about Jewish roots. They celebrate all the festivals, shabbot, the sabbath, some even eat koser. Talk about the other end of the spectrum.
I do not want to get caught up in all of this without careful leading of the Lord. I just want to follow Him. I have had no one to ask about this. So your opinion please.

hi there I would ask are they to extreme.you need balance in a church.they should be able to acomidate the gentile type who arnt intrested in the jewish roots.we have our roots thats christ on a cross.but he also followed jewish customs as well as the disiples I wouldnt think there is anything wrong with that.those things are ways they can honor god.and is a very good thing to do so.I often tell people any way you honor god is good,as long as that is whats in your heart it cant be taken away.you went to this church to honor god by being only willing to be at a church he leads you to.be cautious but not suspisous.let the lord confirm your in the right place he will I just know it.I am praying right now he will show you.
god bless.

Replacement Theology basically teaches that the church has completely replaced Israel in God’s plan. Adherents of Replacement Theology believe that the Jews are no longer God’s chosen people and God does not have specific future plans for the nation of Israel. There are really only two views, either the Church is a continuation of Israel (Replacement Theology), or the Church is totally different and distinct from Israel

For those who are not familiar with the term “Replacement Theology,” it is a very bad teaching that God, Who cannot lie and Who never changes, has arbitrarily cancelled the “everlasting covenants” that He made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and with “their descendants forever,” and has transferred those promises to the Gentile “church.”

This is not true. God has a place for both.

Now we have the Apostolic Problem.

What do you do with the problem that all the Apostles preached something wrong except Paul. They all said you must follow the Jewish law to be saved. God had to destroy the temple to get them to stop.

Were they Christians?
Were they Apostles?

Yet they made a mistake, WOW,
can you imagine if I preached
you must still sacrifice a Lamb to have your sins forgiven
what would happen today.

Act 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judea taught the brethren, [and said], Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
Act 15:2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

Act 15:4 And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and [of] the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that God had done with them.
Act 15:5 But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command [them] to keep the law of Moses. Act 15:6 And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.

The fact that they even had to consider this is amazing to me

Ten years later. They are not only still preaching the law but have allowed thousands to believe a lie.

Act 21:20 And when they heard [it], they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:
Act 21:21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise [their] children, neither to walk after the customs.
Act 21:22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.

For unity in the community we want you to break your own preaching

Act 21:23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;
Act 21:24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave [their] heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but [that] thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.

This was a 8 days bathing and
offering animals for purification
They had to shave all their hair on every part of their body.
They had to present themselves to the priest every day.
This was done to see if they were clean of all sickness.
They had to offer an animal everyday for their sins.

Please remember this was 10 years after the Apostles said
to Paul: Keep yourself from sex sins and from strangled food.
Yet these Apostles were allowing followers to follow traditions
that Jesus had fulfilled.

Did God condemn them?
Were they still Apostles?
Did they die as martyrs for Jesus?
Do they have a special place in heaven?

Now my friend did God kill the apostles?
No He loved them and led them the right way.

Is there a place to celebrate the old ways? Yes.
Is it commanded for salvation? No.

We are saved by grace not works.

God did not condemn he loved.
If you like some of the old traditions I think it makes God smile.
Just don't make it a religion necessary for salvation.

Remember each one of the feast point to Jesus.
So at passover make it a good family barbecue not a sacrifice.
A time to remember what Jesus has done and will do.

Make Pentecost a time of the Holy Spirit and His power.
Go camping during the Feast of the Tabernacle to remember how God will deliver you in the wilderness of your life.

I must say this ...
When you come to a deeper understanding of the traditions
it gives you a deeper understanding of Jesus

I hope this helps
Pastor Jerry
