I read abt an arguement in a chatroom comparing the sharia laws to Mosiac law? Can some one help me understand these two laws as they relate to converting to a different religion?

How should nonbelievers be treated?
What the Bible says about non-Christians and religious toleranceWhen to Stone Your Whole Family

All Holy books are full of mind-boggling laws and commandments which defy logic and reasoning. A bit of religious history will convince you of some of the horrible crimes committed in the name of God. No one group holds a monopoly to such acts.

13:6 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;

13:7 Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;

13:8 Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:

13:9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

13:10 And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; because he hath sought to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

"I will never understand Sharia", writes the Preacherman. The question is, do you understand the Bible? What a few extremists are doing in Afghanistan is following the liretal interpretation of the Qu'ran. That means they are reading some laws word for word.

What if someone or group read the above quoted biblical verses word for word and decided to act upon it now, does that mean you would condemn Christianity? What if you learned the such verses and many more have caused the deaths of many considered to be heretics, for example, during the Inquisition; would you still proclaim your faith in the Bible as the word of God?

Oh my friend have you forgotten why Jesus came.
He came to fulfill the Law.
He came to save the lost.

That is the power of the New Testament
That is the power of the Love of God.

==================================================
WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE
==================================================

Eph 2:1 And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;

Eph 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved)

Eph 2:6 And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:

Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

================================================== =======
WE ARE REDEEMED FROM THE CURSE OF THE LAW
================================================== =======
Gal 3:1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?

Gal 3:2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Gal 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

Gal 3:4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if [it be] yet in vain.

Gal 3:5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, [doeth he it] by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Gal 3:6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.

Gal 3:7 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.

Gal 3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, [saying], In thee shall all nations be blessed.

Gal 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Gal 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:

Gal 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

================================================== ======
THEY SHALL KNOW US BY OUR LOVE
================================================== ======

Jhn 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Jhn 13:35 By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

I am so sorry as Christians we have failed you, please forgive us.

Is that not why they killed Jesus.
Is that not why over 10,000 Christians were martyred last year alone around the world by Muslims. That is the price to be paid for the Love of God.

Yes the old was to seperate but today we are to love.
Will the lost be lost?
Yes I am sorry to say that.
But if they open their eyes to the Love of God
then they will see His great love and provision for them.

I hope this helps

John 8:11 ......And Jesus said unto her,
Neither do I condemn thee:
go, and sin no more.

Luk 6:35 But love ye your enemies,
and do good,
and lend, hoping for nothing again;
and your reward shall be great,
and ye shall be the children of the Highest:
for he is kind unto the unthankful and [to] the evil.

Luk 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Luk 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:
condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:

These are the cornerstones of the New Testament.
In the Old there was a different price to be paid.
Today it is about love and kindness.

The rest is up to God.

One more thought.

The Koran has no JESUS AS THE SAVIOR.
The Koran has no forgiveness.
The Koran has no provision of healing.
The Koran has no New Testament.
The Koran was not written by God.

WE LIVE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT NOT THE OLD
