Hello Everyone. Peter and I attended his church this morning and they announcd a marriage conference saying that there were still tickets available for two more couples. This was our first church attendance since we were married. What a coincidence. The conference is being held by noneother than Les and Leslie Parott. The conference takes place at another church in Northern Virginia on June 17th. How about that! We would not have known about this conference had it not been for our attending this service. I purchased tickets for me and Peter at a discount price of $50 by buying them from his church. The regular price is $80. Pretty Amazing huh? Peter's church selling tickets for a Les and Leslie Parrot conference! I can't wait until we attend this conference! It will be lots of fun! God Bless You All!

Hello everyone. Peter and I had a bad morning yesterday when trying to get my car cleaned before going over to Maryland for Dolly's cousin's wedding. When I drove my dog out into the country on Friday, the seat cover on the top upper portion of the back seat came down and I got dog hair all over the backseat of my new car. We took the car to a car wash and they didn't even touch the vacummn to the back seat at all! They just vacumned the mats for less than a minute then drove my car into the wash. Peter and I then went to a gas station so that I could vacumn the back seat myself. I had to dig out $1.25 in quarters. The vacumn at the first gas station had no nozzle, and it didn't even work that well! We then drove to another gas station with a working vacumn. Peter and I meanwhile were bickering as we drove between gas stations. It was more my fault, since I was blaming him for guiding me to a gas station that had a nonworking vacumn. (My flesh won and I picked on Peter for something that wasn't his fault. Not to mention the bickering that occured when I made a wrong turn while going to the second gas station and blaming Peter for giving me bad directions, in response to his frustratingly telling me that I just made a wrong turn. ) I had to dig out $1.25 in quarters once again. I had been keeping our Les and Leslie conference tickets nestled and tucked inside my wallet where I keep my change. I was panicking and angry about not even being able to get the dog hair off of the backseat of my new car. I cleaned out my wallet looking for quarters and laid down everything with the intention of putting it back into my wallet when I was finished like I did at the previous gas station. Lo and behold, while I was vacumming my car, everything flew away, including the tickets! Satan was really launching attacks against us. And I was vulnerable, obsessing about my car getting clean, and Satan used it against me. He was a roaring lion and he pounced upon me like the Bible says, in 1 Peter 5:7 Satan stole our Marriage Conference tickets! But I kept professing to God that he would overrule and overthrown Satan's plans and make a way for us to be admitted into the conference. Peter meanwhile was no help, yelling negatively, "Satan has won this one!" Even in my turmoil and fear, I challenged Peter to stop talking like that, while at the same time rebuking Satan and crying out to God to help us. I was crying hysterically like a little girl over loosing the tickets. Going to this conference means so much to me! I would give my right arm to go! It is a critical emotional need that cannot go unmet! Not to mention that we already paid for the tickets. There is no way I can handle, endure or bear missing out on that conference! I finally got a hold of Peter's minister whom we bought the tickets from, and he cheerfully said, "We'll get you in, don't worry". I felt very relieved. I am still upset that we had to go through this ordeal, yet thankful to the Lord that we will get in. We will be going to Peter's church today for worship and for a church picnic afterwards. I will speak to the minister further about the conference. Please pray that everything does indeed work out for us, and that we do get in successfully with no problems. I boldy believe that we would even get VIP treatment at this conference! Amen! Pray also for me to stop being so obsessed over my new car as much, and for me to keep calm and keep my cool and be anxious for nothing. My car staying in good condition is not worth risking our marriage over. God Bless You All!

Hello Everyone! Peter and I attended the marriage conference today. We were dissappointed. We did not get as much out of it as we had hoped for. First of all, they spent so much time lingering on and on with their stories and examples that time was lost. They ended up having to skip two lessons to make up for lost time. They did not stick to the schedule. I am thankful that we made it and were able to get good seats. I like it when they joke and give examples, but they went overboard in the examples at this conference to the point of not covering everything in the program. Another thing, and I might be getting a little off topic, and I think I will start a new thread in regards to this but, we wanted also to share about the surrounding environment. As newleds wanting to grow in our relationship, in our marriage, and most of all with Christ, we long to fellowship with others. The problem is we feel ignored by others around us, especially since they appear to have their own fellowship circles. Peter and I both suffer from low self-esteem, and we therefore use caution when meeting others. I am very shy by nature myself. Peter is very distrustful due to his having been hurt previously. We would have liked to have fellowshipped with other couples, but we kept to ourselves, because we did not appear to fit in. We finally got to enjoy the lecture and make comments to each other about examples in our relationship as it pertains to us. Then not one, but two people criticized us and told us to be quiet and told us we were being too loud and disruptive! I could feel little needles going through my heart. It's such a paradox that we keep to ourselves and are too scared to communicate with others arounds us, yet when we talk with each other, we're so loud and disruptive. It's a vicious cycle, that we wish to break out of. We are both very sensitive people. It is one thing when people don't fellowhsip with us, it's another thing when they pick on us for being who we are and being ourselves. I don't want to be bitter. Lord, help me not to become bitter. This will not matter in eternity. What matters is that we are great in the kingdom of God, even if we are not great on earth! Having human approval is not supposed to matter, but we desire to be able to enjoy fellowship with other members of the body, as part of living the full Christian life. Please pray for us. We are both hurting tonight. God Bless You All!
