Da Vinci Code film

Hello everyone,

I have not seen "The Da Vinci Code" film, however, I have read some reviews. As of right now, I feel it is blasphemy and an abomination. Moreover, I would like to "hear" your reviews about it. I grately respect this message board and know I will get insights that will help me help others understand more about this movie. I have the understanding the producer created it for entertainment, fiction only, however, it is a great insult and breaking one of the Ten Commandments, "Thy shall not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." This is simply my perspective.

This movie is from the book, and the book claims that there are documents proving that a lot of things are true about Jesus and the church that are not true. There are about ten different documentaries out right now, that have experts who prove these documents to be false.

Here are the truths I have been learning from these various documentaries

* No true artist would call him DaVinci; he is called "Leonardo" in art circles.

* That could not have been Mary Magdeline in The Last Supper painting -- then where was John? The reason he had no beard and looked effeminate is, HE WAS YOUNG.

* The divinity of Christ was not VOTED on at the Nicene (sp?) council. The divinity of Jesus was preached by Himself and His disciples and prophecied before he was born.

* The reason the "eighty" other Gospels were rejected is because they were written about 100 to 200 years after his death.... the FOUR that are in our Bible were written by those who walked with Jesus or thier contemporaries.

* The fact that they call Mary Magdeline the companion of Jesus is not proof of marriage -- it can simply mean they were friends. She did accompany Him on His travels.

* There is not one shred of eveidence ANYWHERE that Jesus was married or had a child! No such document of any kind exists anywhere.

* The group "Opis Dei" is made out to be something other than it is. This group simply exists to teach the lay people of The Catholic church to practice holiness. It is not some secretive group.

* The Priory of Sion was not founded in 1099 -- but 1956. This group was founded by a a man with a criminal record and he planted the false info --

It turns out that "the Priory of Sion" was organized in 1956, with Pierre Plantard as its Grand Master, an anti-Semite with a criminal record for fraud. Its background was, indeed, "proven" by a cache of documents that were "discovered" in the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris.

However, they were planted there by Pierre Plantard himself! One of his henchmen admitted to assisting him in the fabrication of these materials, including the genealogical tables and lists of the Priory's grand masters. This hoax was exposed in a series of French books and a BBC documentary in 1996. (Borrowed off a website about one of the documentaries)

* The Gnostic (this is a false religion) Gospel ("Gospel of Philip," it's called) that says Jesus "kissed" Mary is missing part of the language.... It says "the disciples ________ Mary on the ________," and before that it says, "Jesus _________ Mary more than _________." (I just heard this on a sermon by Rod Parsley, as I type this!). So, we don't really even know what this says.

So....

You are perfectly right in saying this is blasphemy. Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. He did not come to marry and father a child.

Besides, this movie claims he did not die for our sins. The Bible is very plain that if Jesus did not die and was not resurrected from the dead our faith is in vain.

To all who are wondering if there is any truth in all this, READ THE WORD, THE BIBLE. The way to know if something is false, is to KNOW what is TRUE. You will quickly recognize lies, if you are versed in the truth.

Thanks Jerirose for the acknowledgement and information provided. God bless u:-) I would like to add that I believe what the devil meant for bad, God will turn it to good. The devil may want to allure the ignorant, those without God's knowledge and shake their faith, however, The Lord will at this time fill His people with the Holy Spirit of God in moving their hearts to seek the truth, HIS sacred WORD. THose that choose to believe mankind, it is their will, and those that decide to seek the truth, more souls to be won, praise YOU GOD! Lord, I know that you have allowed this movie for your special plan is a great awakening for your children to seek you before your return. Thank u for you are so powerful and compassionate. You are now looking for us and showing signs to turn around and seek only you to a better life with the filing of your spirit. Thank u....

PS: His Word is now all around the world and we know what this means for it is written in the book of Revelations. God is giving us a chance to repent and return back to him before judgement day is so very near. God bless all.

Good day my brothers and sisters of Christ.


I too have not read nor seen the movie. I had attended Catholic schools from grammar school to high school. It was when I took Christianity class in high school, that one of the priest had spoken to the class, about Mary Magdeline, and her 'significate' role in Christ's life. And that there was so-called historians tracing Chist's blood lines to that very point in time in Isreal. And that Mary Magdeline had moved on to another town after Christ's reserrection due to her pregnancy. Now- I am not for what this priest had told us in this class. But stating his opinion, and was asking the class out of all the women that Jesus had healed, the woman with the blood disorder whom bleed for many years, had the faith that she would be held by just the touch of his garment. Why was not this woman in the forefront as well.

I don't know. I know that Da Vinci was not around during the time of Christ. So how would he know the sitting arrangement at the Last Supper. I think Mr. Brown took something and made something that is already mysterious even more so for profit, and make people wonder, with any novels that want ratings. Mr. Ron Howard stated its not suppose to be an exact duplicate to the book. But too many of the stories lines from the book is in the movie. And that it is not non-fiction but all story lines.

I don't believe in the book of what it says nor the movie. Christ was the only unsinful person walking this earth. And he died for each and every one of our sins. He carried our burdens to the cross. Now a movie I can watch every day as a painful reminder of what Christ did for each of is - The Passion of the Christ-- Because it was Christ's passion for us that he did what he did for us all. Amen!!!!

Let those whom are easily influenced to believe what rubish that Mr. Brown, (again another person whom wasn't present at the Last Supper) or Ron Howard, has to say about the mysteries of the Church hidding the relationship Christ had with Mary. Ron Howard knew as he was riding that train to the premere of the movie something wasn't right. That movie wasn't right, no matter what. It wasn't right to have the media to influence people in the wrong direction. By having them to think Christ wasn't pure.That is the true reason why he was so 'fearful' on the train.

Continue to be focused on God and all that HE has done for us. Not what the movies say he had done, because in the end the true believers know, the movie and book is full of lies. Amen!!!!! Be Bless family.

I believe that this book is one of the steps and stages that the enemy is using to introduce the Antichrist.

It is the beginning of real deception, and will fool a lot of people.

I am sorry that these people involved themselves in it, but it is going to make a ton of money, just like the book did.

Check out the website: Discussing the davinci code. com and hit "resources". Lee Strobel, "A Case for Christ" and Gary Poole discuss in great detail the claims of the book and movie, and refute the lies with the truth, the Bible.

As for me, I did not see the movie nor will I buy the book. That is just my personal conviction. But I am glad that there is ample opportunity to witness the truth to many. I sent out hundreds of witnessing tracts for this. What the devil has meant for harm, God will use for His glory!

In the middle of all this darkness, a little light seems very, very bright!!!

The Bible states that God will not share His glory with any man. So for jesus to have married and fathered a child would void the Bible.
I can't believe how many people are reading this book and accepting this piece of fiction as truth!

I did, however, watch tha National Geographic Channel "The Gospel of Judas". It will be interesting to see what the scholars and translators say this says. Through carbon dating, it has been proved to be authentic in age at least. Now it could be an ancient forgery. We'll just have to wait and see.

I know this is late, but feel led to add these observations to this subject.

First of all, it was claimed this "code" could be used in every Book of the Bible. This turned out to be false. Later on, after more testing and trials, there were some Books it does not work in.

Secondly- It has been proven that not all of the predictions found, came out accurate.

Third- When approached by ministers asking if I work with that "code", I say no, as it is not of God. With supprise, they ask why?

God tells us in His Word to read and learn It to use as ortection against the enemeis firey darts. Also, so that we can show ourselves approved in rightly dividing true doctrine from false ones.

The "DaVinci Code" is devised to run all the words together in a streaming effect, elimating all other markings-( periods, colon, etc) used in writing structural sentences, so that it is very difficult to actually read the Scriptures in this format to learn what God is literally saying.

Thus, those ministers are wrong in assuming more people will turn to and read God's Word and get saved, when actually only going thru it with this "code" system in a way nearly impossible to read, compared to how God originally had It written.

Thus, because of the above and other reasonings, it's pretty clear this ploy is of satan, using it to imitate a Godly miracle with a false one. Why?

It takes your attention away from reading and studying God's Word for growing closer and living more for God, to seeking unreliable supposedly hidden messages or prophecies in God's Word.

Lastly- You have all shown viable Godly reasons as well why this is not of God. It's no different than the "Apacrypha books" that were put in God's Word for a time, then removed. They have some good historical backround info in them, but were considered spirious by later puritan Leaders who could not find the elements of God inspired Teachings in them.
