Good evening everyone,
Well, I felt uneasy about doing this but, I accompanied my friend to watch, " The Da Vinci Code film. I was petty much falling asleep throughout the entire movie but was able to see a little. I can say this much, I couldn't believe the blasphemy in this film. I don't care if they are stating this movie was fiction, there is no excuse for mocking Christ and breaking the commandents. However, out of the blue my friend Sylvia asked me, "who wrote the bible?" OF course I told her I have not gotten into the depth of the bible in that way. She then commented, wasn't it manmade? And how do we know God spoke to the disciples? I told her not to be decieved by what she is reading in Dan Brown's book because he has a very deceptive way of eloquently writing to intrigue his audience and that I would not allow man to put doubt in my mind about questionioning God's sacred Word in the bible. I am in pure dismay that she would even question this. Please let me know what I can tell her about the bible because I myself, and as I stated before, have never gone into the depth of knowing. How can I explain to her it was the apostles?? Please pray the Lord will guide and protect her from accepting Dan Brown's deceptive lies, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Thank u in advance and God bless,
Illuminate

Ok, the basics are that Yes, men wrote the Bible BUT God is the Author. Just as many authors throughout history have dictated their stories to secritaries or scribes, the Holy Spirit has dictated the words in the Bible.
There is no other explination for the thread of continuing love, mercy, peace and history that flows through the sixty six books written over four thousand years by aproximately forty four men.
The Bible agrees with itself over the entire period and there is no man produced agenda held or hidden within it.
There is no 'man-made' way that the single thread of the Bible could possibly be written by anyone except God.
There is also no man-made way to convince your friend that the Bible is the true Word of God and that God did speak through the Disciples, Prophets and other writers of His Word, her faith must come from a personal revelation by the Holy Spirit.
You must leave your friend's faith in the hands of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot convince her of anything and you cannot build her faith in God. That is the job of the Holy Spirit and you will just get in the way of His work if you try to 'fix' what you see is wrong.
All you can do is pray for her and live your own Faith.
When you pray give the Holy spirit the control over her life and heart (do not give Him instructions on how to do it or you tie His hands). Then let it go and let God do the work, He knows exactly what your friend needs to bring her to the personal revelation of Faith and into relationship with Jesus.
After prayer, the most important thing you can do is live your Faith in God.
Relax, the Holy Spirit will give you what you need to answer her when she really needs an answer from you. By asking you those questions in the theater she was only trying to shake your faith not get an answer. When she is ready the Holy Spirit will give you what she needs to hear.
Father, I stand in the gap for Lorena. Holy Spirit give her peace and faith in Your Word and help her to live her faith in front of her friend. Give her the words to speak that will build faith in Sylvia. Clear up any confusion in Lorena and let her see clearly the face of Jesus as she seeks to learn about Your Word. Thank You Jesus! AMEN!

Thank you for taking the time and answering my question. Great points and I will simply let the Holy Spirit take over.
Have a blessed day :-)

If I may add to this, know that God declares an unsaved person can only understand the literal meaning of God's Word but not the spiritual understanding of It. God shows how it must take the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit to do this.
God Bless!!

God wrote the Bible by way of the hands of blessed men.
The Bible has remained unchanged for 2000 years. The Old Testament is a prophesy of the birth of Jesus, the purpose of Jesus, His death and resurrection. The New Testament is the fruition of those prophesies.
The book "A Search for the Spiritual" is a very good book for those who are seeking. It's available from Billy Graham ministries.
"Be Intolerant" by Ryan Dobson is another very good book for adults as well as for teens.

There is also several clear Scriptures that state- "Holy men of God spake, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit". Thats one of several which show God is clearly the author, who dictated His Word to men, thru the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
God Bless!!
