Is Babtism required (for a 10 or 11 yr old) to enter Heaven

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this question (I also posted it in another section), but please give me some thoughts as to this question: Do you have to be babtized to be saved and enter Heaven? IF you have a relationship with God and you have asked Him into your heart and try to live following Him, do you actually have to go through the ritual of a water babtism? I am curious for my child. She is not old enough in my opinion to have babtisim (10 yrs old--almost 11) until she actually asks for it herself. But..if she were to pass would she still be considered saved? I consider her old enough to know right from wrong, therefore I feel that she is responsible spiritually. Thank you for giving me your views on this topic

Faithnhim,
No, i don't believe it says anywhere in the Bible that we "have" to be baptised however, we do it to follow the example of Christ as He was baptised.
Some denominations believe that baptism alone will save you but the Bible does not say that either.
Ye must be born again and repent of your sins and follow Christ and baptism is just the icing on the cake as it is such a sacred experience when you have come to know the Lord Jesus as your personal Savior.
If something God forbid, would happen to your daughter and she is truly saved, she would go to Heaven as she has accepted Christ.
I think a child of 10 or 11 unless they are very immature is old enough to be baptised and I don't think a suggestion or asking her if she wanted to be is not of order. However, you know your daughter and where she is at in her life but i would hate to deprive her of a spiritual blessing unless it would be best to wait until she is older.
If she is able to understand salvation, she surely can grasp the reasoning for baptism. I couldn't wait to be baptised after my salvation as it was so meaningful for me and knowing I was following in the steps of Christ and His example to me how much He loved me.
I just read your post again and you feel she is spiritually responsible enough----i would pray and desire for her to be baptised as she is missing out on something that Christ Himself did as well---

I totally agree with you brother Chris. when I was younger my mother and I visited a church that we was invited to by some friends, and my mother pushed me on the 'line' I thought at the time it was the prayer line. It was the line for baptismal. I was baptized without the proper classes and understanding of being baptized. Now that I have joined a church, and have taken the right steps to recieve the right hand of Fellowship, I am preparing to take my baptismal classes to be baptized at the age of 33 the proper way. I feel when the child is ready and understanding the responsiblity of being bapitzed that is when the child should be baptized. I didn't have the 'full concept' of being baptized and the responsibility that goes with it at the age of 17. Now at the age of 33, a wife, a mother, a true God fearing person, and having a better understanding of fellowship, tithing, and baptismal, I am ready and prepared for the HOLY SPIRIT TO RAIN on me.
Amen!!! Be Bless my sister.

Baptism at any age is NOT a requirement for entrance into heaven.
It is simply an act of obedience AFTER a person is born again.

Quite true MamaCat, but, let us remember God still commands us to be water baptized -(refering to Gentiles), for the purpose of showing one of several outward signs we have committed our life to Christ publicly.
I was water baptized twice- 1st- When I accepted Salvation. 2nd- So a mother and her two children would not be embarrassed- (mother), getting water baptized at such a late date after getting saved and reborn.
Besides, the Pastor of my old "Home Church" of that time believed in "full body emersion" type of water baptism, of which he knew it was only poured over my head when I converted.
Ha- The Pastor gave me his usaul sly smile when he stated if I let him do that, he could Bless me for all the Blessings-(tailtwistings) I'd done for our Church he couldn't do. He used to tease me about relaxing and not being so "stiff necked" about God's Word, telling me of all his speeding tickets he got. So... I'd just quote Scripture back for all the reasons I should be in that respect.
God Bless!!
