Granddaughter doing well after surgery

I am praising the Lord for bringing Sierra (my 4 yr old granddaughter) through her tonsilectomy, adnoidectomy surgery Wednesday and successful placement of her pic line for IV antibiotics too. Sierra has had an outstanding recovery and hospital stay. The staff were so supportive and helpful. We came home today with her IV antibiotics to be administered at home - the visiting nurse just left and showed my son everything we need to do to treat her at home every 8 hours with her IV medications.

Another praise is that we were told by hospital staff that most patients are required to stay for a week or two for the IV antibiotics now and our doctor did release us after 3 days! With my husband being a RN in the ER, I think that helped us and the fact that they are understanding of all that we have been through etc. Sierra is looking great and a real strong little girl - she just turned 4 in May and is so brave with everything she has had to go through. I am very thankful for God's blessings in all of this. She looks great and she has an underlying disease too (Cystic Fibrosis). I was really dreading the surgery and the three week course of antibiotics intraveinously, but so far things have gone very smooth! She even can take her meds without the IV pole that she had to use last year. She now has a little fanny pack that keeps her mobile through the entire treatment.

She will need to be on IV antibiotics for 3 weeks and therefore is still in the hospital and will be for about 3 days since they must regulate the dosage of the antibiotics to make sure it isn't toxic. We are trusting the Lord in all of this.

Thank you Lord for answering our prayers in this situation! Thanks to those who have been praying with us on this and our family adjustments since Sierra's mommy died and my son (her daddy) Jeff has been left to care for her and her brother who both have cystic fibrosis.
