A Grain of Sand

I was as a grain of sand
In a dry and arid desert
blown about by winds of doctrine
Nothing to hold me, nothing to anchor me
lost in the multitudes
Just like all the other grains of sand.
I could not give life, not sustain life
I could not weep for there was no water
only the groanings of the wind gave utterance.
Trodden on by all manners of beasts
looking, searching, for any good food
I had nothing, nothing to even interest them
Was this my lot in life?
With all that was in me
I cried out, O' what a feeble sound
certain that no one would hear
A mighty wind such as I had never known-
came
All the grains of sand around me
were scattered
I was alone, now exposed
I looked up, and now no longer the scorching sun-
before me the heavens opened wide
multitudes of stars, brilliantly smilling-
upon me
Suddenly. . . .
I was picked up, transported to another place
here, a garden filled and abounding with life
I am no longer alone, nor no longer dry
sweet flowing, life giving rain came
O' so full of love
I am now bound with many different grains of sand
and life abounds from me
The beasts come not looking for food or prey
but come and lay, finding peace and rest
And now I am satisfied.

sonrise,
what a wonderful, touching poem! I read it earlier today and it touched my heart and was so meaningful to me.
I relate and understand what it says.
May your gift continue to flow out of you more than ever and may it be used for the glory and honor of the Lord!

to Christy,
The poem was about transformation wrought by the hand of God. I do believe truth can be written thru metaphors and such to touch those who are searching but have been turned off by "christianese". This is written so that one must stop, ponder and seach out meaning. Prov. 2 , ". . .yes if you will call for insight and raise your voice for discernment, If you seek it as you would silver- and search for it as for hidden treasure-- then you will understand the fear of ADOANI and find knowledge of God." Blessing!! sonrise
