I have signed my daughter up for 3 different magnet schools here in jacksonville florida. I filled out the the forms appropriatley, sent them in early, auditioned for one of the schools, and I found out that she was put on the waiting list as #245 at one school, and #340 for the other schools, now I know something is wrong with that process. They say they use a lottery system. I have heard that the new superintendent is gay. So please pray because I do not want that type of lifestyle being taught to my children either.

Sorry, for my ignorance, but what IS a magnet school?
Lord God, provide schooling that is to the edifcation of Tonya's children. I pray that they are not taught things contary to Your Word. Send favor and finances to Tonya's family so her children may get a Christian education, unless You want them in the magnet school as a witness. Lord, I pray that Tonya will know what direction to go and will find a school she can get her children into where she is sure they are not being taught contrary to what she believes as a Christian. I pray if her daughter is supposed to be in one of the magnet school's that her name is on the waiting list of, that she will be chosen and picked by Your intervention. I seriously ask for the protection of these children, that they are not exposed to lies in their education. In Jesus Name, amen.

When I was signing up for my second semester degree pre-requisite college courses, the line for two of the classes was enormous. I absolutely had to have these classes to progress, and was praying for help in this. The classes filled and were closed. A small voice told me to remain in line (I was at the end of the line). A student stepped up to the front of the line as I got there and asked to drop exactly the class that I needed. The university staff asked us (accusatory) if this was a pre-arranged occurrence. This happened in both classes. Once may have been random chance, twice was the hand of God. 
If this superintendant is gay, perhaps you should review your options for your daughter. 
Have you considered homeschooling. I have taken my son up one full grade in math in 15 weeks ( I am good in math, but not a scholar in this subject).
Father, I ask for favor, or Your hand on this educational lottery system if it is Your will for Tonya's child. If it is not Your will for this to happen, I ask for the very best education for this grandchild of Yours. In Jesus Name we bring this matter before Your throne. Amen.

no apology needed. In jacksonville, fl the school system developed curriculums to give everyone a better chance at education ie. foreign lang, academics, performing arts etc. the system sends out applications every year around feb. this year I filled my apps out early and sent them back. My daughter auditions for the school of the arts for the 6th grade. We weren't allowed in the auditions, we dont' know if the person who makes the decision of acceptance or denial is saved. Any way she was placed on a waiting list.

Thanks for the explanation, Tonya. Are there other schools she could go to? Home schooling is a good option. My sister did it for seventeen years and two of her children are graduated and working steadily -- one cuts hair, one at Wal*Mart. One son did have some learning disabilities, and he is trying to pass this confusing geometry in order to graduate (he was streamlined into public school, and is in summer school now). But all of this kids are turning out very responisble (OK, three are teens and "losing their minds" as Mom Wynan's calls it.... but I pray it's temporary! The two older girls turned out very respsonsible). Perhaps, your daughter could get singing lessons, instead, and be home schooled. Unless you work.... Just a suggestion.
