It does not seem like we are receiving very many prayers if this is the worlds largest prayer board........people that need real prayer.....it is very discouraging.......

Dear sister please forgive us as there are many times that we pray without writing it on the board as there is just not enough time to write all the prayers down as there are very very many request. yes dear sister you are recieving prayer every time you post a request, please understand that there is just not enough hours in the day to write responces to everyone who we pray for. and if we did we would not be able to pray for as many as we possibly can. please forgive us as we never want anyone to feel neglected.
may the Father in heaven bless you and yours always. God Bless you and keep you safe in his mighty hand. amen and amen.

I had a thread once with 309 or so views and only about 39 replies, and most of the replies were my updates. This board has something like 14,000 members registerd but very few of those post with any regularity (someone told me about only 50 are posting regularly right now). Since we are people with families, full time jobs, ministries other than on here, understand that we can't pray in every thread we might like to. I spend hours on here, and I just can not pray in all the threads I would like to. I am single, but now that I live with my sister and her children, it's some busier, plus I work 35 hours a week.... We are just human, and we get weary and burned out and need rest even from praying on here. We get discouraged and start carrying the burdens of so many's needs and may take a break to rest.
What we need (and what I pray for) is more people committed to posting faithfully back to OTHERS. Many post their own needs but do not post in other's threads very often. I think it would be great if everyone who came on here posted in at least two others people's prayer request threads before posting in their own or putting up a new prayer request. As a moderator here, I do search for ways to encourage people to post more to others, but that also can take time away from my actual posting time, so I don't spend much time on it.
Sad to say, I see many TAKERS, who simply want prayers upon prayers coming their way, but don't want to pray for others much (at least not by way of posting, though they have time to post their own needs.) Just not sure how to change their minds on this. They don't even seem aware of it being a problem. I just feel if you expect others to pray for you, you should expect to pray for others. That is the give and take nature of this board and what makes it such a blessing. It seems few understand this. If you have the time to post a prayer request, you ought to have the time and curtesy to post some replies to others. It really IS more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).
What you need to realize, though, is few prayer sites even allow you to post back. Most prayer sites I go on, I put up a prayer and it disappears; no-one can post a prayer back to me. So how do you really know if anyone prayed on there or how many? That is why this is called "The World's Largest Prayer Board," because so many are actively posting here, as compared to other prayer boards or sites.
With so few of us trying to post, and with us trying to fit that posting into and between our busy schedules and personal time with the Lord, it is challanging to get much done some days. Not to mention those days we come home tired and end up conking out and not praying here at all.... Well, it's happened to me.
Anyhow, you get my drift. We all need patience with each other. We all need to not wonder why so few are posting back to us.... I have wondered this, too. But due to being on here posting for a while now, I know the reasons. And I know many of the people on here are praying for me whether they post or not. I wish they would at least indicate they prayed, but no matter how much I wish this, it just isn't going to happen.
This weekend is a prayer vigil and not that many signed up. Now, if this board has about 14,000 members, why not? From indications of what has happened in the past, some of us probably are covering more than one hour in the vigil, just to get the hourly time slots filled. Usually, it's a handful covering the vigils.... and a handful posting prayers.
I pray that as you wait for replies to your requests, you go and post some prayers for others. That's how I became active on this board. I knew I should post to others, not just post my own request. And now I have friends from here, who I am sure pray for me daily, which keeps me under a constant covering.
I have been praying so much for others this week, I am on a little down time. Don't think for a moment people don't care because they don't post. Again, we are human, and sometimes "It's me, it's me, O, Lord, standing in the need of prayer," which is my current situation. So I have to take a little break from getting so focused on everyone's problems.
God bless you and supply all your needs, as you pray with us here.

I believe this site has more forums than any other's I have been on. A lot of them are actually a prayer board within another site, like Third Day has a prayer board, so they are not very big. Click on the "Prayer Board" link of this site, and look at the long list of forums.
Also, I believe this site may be receiving the mosts prayer requests. When I joined here, I could pray in nearly every request (if not all). It seems that I would check through the list, and I had alreday responded in every thread. Jerry (webmaster) says we are getting 70 up to a 1000 request some days.... so with SO MANY request flooding the site, you can see that it's hard for so few to keep these threads covered.
Also, realize that a lot of people will start a mini flood, by posting three or four threads (even more) in one session, and this did not seem to be the case when I first joined. It appears they just come on and start a series of threads in various forums, yet they don't seem to be replying in other people's threads. I am assuming they want someone to reply in theirs, but maybe they only want us to read it and pray. Any thread I read, I do pray for, whether I post or not, but you can see how this makes the load heavier for the few of us who do take the time to post. If this is the world's largest prayer board in the total amount of posts, it does not necessarily mean posts BACK TO OTHERS. Some have started almost as many threads as their total amount of posts.
So, as we continue to pray together, don't give up in dispair at the small amount of posts back. To those of us who post regularly, the load can be dauting. Yet, we wade in.... We LOVE to pray! We just need MORE who love to pray! We need more to have their eyes open to the fact that they are taking and not giving.... and missing out on a huge blessing by doing so. The greatest joy of my life is to pray for others, and get to rejoice even THAT MUCH MORE when the miracles comes in!

Often I come to this site and spend several minutes (sometimes more) praying for others. I admit that often times I do not post a reply but I am still praying. When the Spirit leads me I will at times send a private message to the individual. Please do not get discouraged. Have faith and confidence in knowing that your needs are being prayed for. God will move according to His promises! It is difficult however to respond to every post that I pray for. Bless you

Here is an opportunity for those who say they just read through the requests and pray without posting. We are having a healing prayer vigil this weekend, and we are trying to keep all the hours covered. Many hours are available on Sunday. It's easy, as all you do is read through a list of request and pray over them, as many already do on this site. When it's your time to pray, praying hands will come up on the left side of the page, under the menu, where it now says "Sign up to pray." When you click on the praying hands, the first request will come up. You simply pray it that request, then click "Next," pray over that request.... and on. It's SO simple! If you want to join us, go to this page, and sign up in one of the horus with 0 under it:
http://www.annointed.net/module-vig...eventid-19.html
Thanks for your help in this matter! Let's believe for WAVES OF HEALINGS!
To know what time it is in your time zone (all times are Eastern), go to "The World Clock" site. Pick a city in Eastern Time Zone (New York works), and you will find out what time it is in your time zone.

Tell us about it...
Yes, some days it is pretty discouraging.
So many people need prayer.
I just pray that some of those readers are praying, too.
We do try to include everyone.
Please believe we pray very sincerely for all.

Prayer is done in many ways, shapes and forms. The important thing is that all prayers are answered by our Lord. It only takes one to come into agreement with your request because
"Wherever (that means in cyber-space as well) two or more are gathered in my name--there I am" and
"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven"
We don't have to write it down to agree upon it. I hope and pray that this day you will experience the peace and joy of our Lord, Jesus Christ. By faith your prayers are answered!

For all the prayer boards and forums I visit I try to stick to the rule that for every one request I post, I pray and comment on three other posts. Sometimes I type my prayer out for them, but most times I read their prayer, let it digest in my heart and my and then lift it to Our Father. Once I've finished praying I usually leave a little message letting them know I prayed for their request. If I think they need someone to talk to, I usually send them a private message letting them know that I am here to talk to if they need it.
I have only been on this board for about a week. I don't think I have posted a request yet. I have just spent my time on here praying for others and talking to new friends. I think this is a wonderful site. It offers us a little bit of everything.
I know we can use all the prayers we can get, but I don't think its worth nitpicking at people because you have more "views" than "replies". I think we should take that time and thank the Lord for the wonderful people who have been blessings to our lives because they have taken the time to pray for a stranger...
God bless you all!
Your sister in Christ,
Melissa

I love the 17th chapter of St. John which reminds me that Jesus prays for us at all times. So many times the enemy has tried to tell me that no one cares or no one is praying. This is a strategy that he uses to make us "feel sorry for ourselves"
or as was stated to cause us "to nitpick" which results in the spirit of confusion
The bible teaches us "to pray without ceasing". The Holy Ghost leads and guides us when and how to pray. This is how we are blessed when we pray for others and look for nothing in return. Because God is so good He will reward us. I thank God for this prayer Board because it takes my mind off "my problems" I learned when we agree together in prayer, we are one one accord/with the same opinion. I believe this results in the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous availeth much.(helping much with good results). All times I don't post but at different times as the Lord blesses me to remeber the prayer request that I have read I pray. Some I have placed in my personal prayer book.
Whatever you do, please,do not allow the spirit of discouraement to take place. We are victrious
overcomers
In Jesus name.

I was just reading these postings. when i first found this website i will have to admit that it impressed me that it said somewhere on the website or a leading to this website that thousands were praying for those whom needed prayer. i thought wow, can you imagine the power with thousands praying for a prayer need, mine or others!
then the longer i was on here, i noticed that really there are very few that are actually replying to the prayers that come forth. especially when compared to when one reads there are thousands praying.
i have no doubt that thousands have posted prayers and replies on here since the very beginning but as one goes through some of these postings, some come on for a one time posting or to pray and they leave, others come on and become moderators, and leave, and others are on here once in awhile in spurts and then there are the very few that actually pray consistantly all the time. very few.
so what has happened to the thousands? It is advertised as the largest prayer board on the internet but i find that to be only the postings of the entire time since it was started. there may be thousands praying for the prayers and as one already said, jesus is interceding for us in heaven and he is more than enough but if we come on here thinking that thousands are praying for our needs and we get 2 replies back that seems strange. however, there are certain prayer request postings on here that may be 100 prayer replies in the same amount of time that others will only get 2 prayer replies back. what is the deal witih that.
i have also noticed someone may have an intense, spiritual need for prayer and they may get one reply posting or two or if lucky maybe a couple more, where the next person may need prayer for a very minor need in comparison to the urgent spiritual need, and they may be 100 prayer reply postings in a few weeks where the urgent spiritual need still only got the very few. i just dont understand how this could be done in realationship with the advertising and all the explanations posted above concerning the question the person asked concerning noticing there are not many praying.
is there favortism or what would be the answer to this? or are there still thousands praying. i know at the beginning i shared with several people if they needed prayers to go to this website as thousands would be praying for them for that is what i believe the main page says along with the ads on the search pages when you type in prayer boards on the internet.
then after i was on for awhile, i begin to see very few that are actually praying or posting the prayers that is. the majority of them are moderators but there are some whom are not that are also praying but not many and they dont seem to stay here long either or may come back down the road later.
this website has been a blessing to me and i have been taught much from a lot of teaching on here that is excellent, made new friends, and have been blessed by praying for others but have asked for very few prayers myself or those whom i love. this is not meant in spiritual arrogance-------that is not what i am trying to say and that has not been because i dont have needs or do not need prayers but i had to come to the place where the lord showed me i was to serve not to be served and that he would supply and take care of my needs if i seek ye first the kingdom of god and all his righteousness all these things will be added unto you. these things, i consider he meant, our prayers answered
i also know that by praying for others, he will answer our prayers if we pray for others with a pure heart, right motive, in obedience and faith believing according to his will and in his spirit and not in our flesh.
there has been far too little praying in the known church today so i was so blessed to find a website that did exercise one of the commands and tool we as christians have that can truly change the world. the church is to be called the house of prayer.
i think it would be of great encouragement also if there was an easy access to the miracle answers to all the prayers since this website has started. i started to look one day but had trouble finding it.
i know there has to be many salvations, healings, deliverances etc, etc that have come through this prayer ministry and it needs to be easy to find (unless i have not researched it enough) and would encourage those whom so need encouragement. there should be thousands of supernatual interventions from the lord according to the thousands of prayers that have been posted and replied to. altho i do know some things do take more time than others to come forth but after this many years there should be many postings in answers to prayers. that would really be beneficial to all of us and inspire others to pray on here besides just posting and requesting prayers. i have found a page with praises and answers to prayers but it somehow left me somewhat confused.
just a thought!
sincerely,

25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
I have had prayers answered before I even got around to posting them on here. It is not OUR prayers (as if we are anybody) that get the work done, it is our FAITH in HIS WORD that moves Him.
12 -- but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises . (Hebrews 6:12)
14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will , He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. (1 John 5:14 & 15)
Don't be waiting around for us to reply. The Holy Spirit is quicker.
24 “ The LORD is my portion,” says my soul,
“ Therefore I hope in Him!”
25 The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
To the soul who seeks Him.
26 It is good that one should hope and wait quietly
For the salvation of the LORD.
(Lamentations 3:24 - 26a).
'Sides, who did you post a prayer for while you waited? The beauty of this board is that we can bless each other by posting to each other. It's not a bless me club. Those who give unto others will truly receive. Now, you may not have a lot of money to give or the like....but if you have a few minutes to strat a thread and a few more minutes to check on who answered...then what you have is TIME. Give your time to post to others on this board. Don't expect others to post to you if you don't expect to post to others.
All right, get me off my soap box....But truly get your eyes off US (who answer) and on GOD who TRULY answers.

I felt kind of bad posting that like a hit run, then going right off to church. What I guess bothers me is the ratio of prayer requests to praise reports. But even Jesus experienced that when only one out of the ten returned to thank Him for the healing from leprosy.
We have a place for public praise reports, called "Praise the Lord" publicly.

jerirose,
thank you for the reply back but still didn't answer my questions which that is ok.
i was not referring to any of my personal prayer requests not being prayed for at all for i think i have only posted a couple for myself and maybe 3 for others that i knew in my life that needed prayer. not referring really to any prayer requests i have posted for those whom pray on here blessed me with their blessings and prayers. and i appreciate that.
i am referring to others whom come on and get very little replies back in prayers. some in desperate situations. this is not all of them and i know a lot of times there are so few that are even on the prayer board at the time and may later post a prayer.
as i mentioned, one of my greatest blessings has been praying for others on here and it got to the point that i was disobeying the lord by spending so many hours on here praying for others which is a good thing to do if i am in obedience to him and his will but even a calling can be taken out of context and out of moderation and become an idol. that was where i was at and i must be careful i do not do this again. i was spending less time with the lord and too much time on here. he is showing me moderation in all things and it is not always easy. but he is taking me there and i am slowly learning.
i love to pray for people the same as you and i could stay on here day and night praying and hoping to bless those whom need the love of the lord and our prayers but i would be totally out of the perfect will of god.
it is a fine line between our callings and staying in his perfect will and i am slowly learning that also. we need to bear with one another in truth and love and that is another thing i am learning for i was not taught how to love growing up but christ is teaching me now.
it is so much easier to stay in the flesh and get impatient, defensive or even irritated but he is not allowing me to continue doing these things as i do not like displeasing him or receiving his rebuke and chastisement!
thank you again for your reply, i appreciate it. i did not quite understand the beginning of your reply back----i understand the scriptures but did not understand where they pertained to the question at the beginning of this posting or mine afterwards.
sincerely in christ and be blessed in the lord jerirose,
chris

They did not pertain to your posting; I was referring to the need, in general, for people to look to THE LORD, NOT US for the source of their answer.
P.S. People act as if we don't post, their prayer won't get answered....and that is having another god before Him.

As to why some requests have more answers, that answer is simple: that is because those of us who start them reply back in our own threads. There are some who just start a new thread every time they come on here. I may answer it and be the "1" reply. But before anyone else can answer, they may come on and start another thread on the same request. I have observed this many times. Often, there are very urgent needs that get quite a few responses, but that person never ever comes back and tells us what happened. As an example: one of my threads got about 39 replies (over half were mine with updates), but it got about 319 views. So, even though that thread appeared to get many responses, it was mostly me keeping that thread active. I prefer that to starting new threads just to try to get a response....or whatever reason those people keep starting new threads, since I don't know if that's the reason. What would be SO helpful, and I try to stress this when I can, is if people would just update in the ORIGINAL thread rather than starting new threads on the same subject. That would be so much more courtious to those of us who are trying to make sure no threads go without a response. To have to cacth everyone of them is not easy, and if I can just keep checking back in the original thread, I will know how to continue to pray. I have opened some threads with a lot of responses, and most of the posts were by the person who STARTED the thread. They were no more favored than others. They just keep praying in their own thread, because they are serious about getting an answer. So....I don't think the amount of replies are lopsided. The more that person keeps the thread active, the more it will encourage others to post in that thread, too, because we will come across it on "Today's Posts" a lot. If someone doesn't respond back in their own thread, it will probably just fall from attention after one or two replies. Well, you see what I mean here. I will quit belabouring the point.... It depends how many are on having a proliflic night of posting, too. You just can't line up everyone, so they are all on here at the same time, doing well in posting. We might be gone or sick or tired or busy or.... any number of things. So, maybe only one strong poster is on during a "shift," and the requests for that night get 1 reply, and then the next night four our on with lots of time and posting a lot and those requests get 4 replies. There are so many variables.
What is gets down to is: Think on the things of others, not only YOUR OWN THINGS! Post prayers for others; don't just start threads with your own needs. We ALL need to be doing our best to post prayers to others. That's how we should think of this board -- not as a place to get prayed for as a place to pray for others! That would totally turn the tide of too few replies.

jerirose,
thanks for the reply back and i understand what you are saying here, i really do.
i have read the old threads, the new threads, the replies, the responses. a lot of excellent teachings, as well as outstanding preaching, some magnificent prayer postings and some heartbreaking prayer needs. i have read them up, i have read them down and sideways and backwards!! but i am sure i have missed other things too.
the response i brought forth was just following the lead of the first posting of this question on this board for i have been wondering the same things some others are wondering as well and it is good for us to want answers to things we are investing our time in and with----time is the most precious thing we all have to give unto the lord and others he wants ministered to. time can be very costly especially if we are not in moderation to what the lord would desire us to do or where he would have us to be.---- and i have not been in moderation and i have admitted it and now intend to repent and change it. this is what is for me and my life in the now. i also know he will bless me for being obedient to his will for me. the lord is my source, strength and my defense and he always comes through for me, always..
you are correct when you say there are many prayer requests but so few replies back if their prayers were answered or even a praise to the lord but i think that is also in the scripture to the story of the 10 lepers that the lord healed in the bible and only one came back to praise and thank him. we live in a very selfish, self centered generation and the lord has shown me that my heart is not always a heart of gratitude as it should be either for he has done so very much for me but most of all he loves me and forgives me and commands me to do the same.
spending time praying on here has brought me so much joy but yet at the same time it has become a sin in my life as i was taking the precious time the lord has given to me on the prayer board praying for others instead of spending time with the lord himself on a one to one basis, and also with my husband. it has become an idol in my life and i want all idols gone from my very being. even when it comes to ministry. if i am not pleasing the lord then all my work and prayers have been in vain. i truly am seeking to please only him and him alone and i am learning as i go, usually the hard way. by fault, error and rebuke. the lord shows me when i am in the wrong, in error and i love it because that confirms to me that i am his and he is mine and he loves me too much to allow me to continue in something he considers a sin in my life.
the prayer closet is where i need to be and that is also my first ministry and calling. i love to pray for others and always will enjoy and pray, but in my prayer closet is the place the lord is calling me to pray. i can look at the prayer requests on here or any prayer board as well as the ones that i personally know that need prayers and can still pray in my closet before the face of god and him alone.
jerirose, remember your advice to me and all of us as well as in thinking of the lord and others first----- and then your needs will be met and your healing will come forth for the lord wants you whole and well so you can continue to go forth in your ministry. he will supply all your need according to his riches in glory by christ jesus if you but seek him and his kingdom first and his righteousness. the same with me and all of us.
he wants you to be able to be free of all infirmities so you can do his perfect will and not only pray for others but show them the way he would have them to go so they may become well and whole also.
may you be healed of the spirit of infirmity and be made whole in the name of jesus and----- rise and be healed in the name of the lord!!
be blessed in your ministry!

I know there are times I definietly need a break from this board, and Jerry encourages me to takes breaks. And so does akabezalel, the super moderator. They are very understanding that we have lives and so much to attend to besides this board. They never pressure us to be here overly much. I will get emails that say, "Please, if it is not a bother, could you come and post in this thread."
I have a day of rest once a week, and I refrain from posting, at least in the warfare, problem type threads. I may update on a situation or share something in "a fun place a quiet place" that blessed me. This week, my day of rest went beyond what I inteneded. I just needed sleeeeeep..... So I got some!
So for any new comers who wonder why their thread did not get a lot of responses, just realize: we ARE human. And, again, be part of the solution: Go post prayers to others who may wonder why they aren't getting many responses.
The problem about the numbers is, this board has 18,000 members, but maybe 50 post with any regularity. I am told it was up to about 100 a year and a half ago or so.... A number of regular posters seem to leave a while back.... We would hope most of those 18,000 were posting, but that is not the reality.
I value quiet time with the Lord above all else; I will not sacrifice that for his board. Though, at times, I admit I have....
OK, it is my prayer I WILL NOT. This is time where I don't even read prayers on here. This is time where praying is not allowed. All I do during this time is FOCUS ON GOD. This is "Be still and know that I am God" time. I would encourage ALL OF YOU to spend quiet time before the Lord, where you don't ask for anything just tell him, "Lord, show up and do anything You want to," then lay back in His Presence (lying down is my position). I usually have anointed, Christ-centered worhsip music on. When we get God focused in this way, our problems seem WAY smaller. We no longer feel so desperate about our situation. The sense that we should post our request on here will sometimes be overshadowed by His Presence, in that we just KNOW He has it all under control, so we don't need others to pray. This has been the most life changing time of my ENTIRE life. I constantly encourage any with any prayer need to get GOD focused, to get off problem focused. Don't seek the answer to Your prayer request, seek God. That advice right there would make a world of difference about how we view our prayer threads. Rather than hanging over them checking for responses, we would be having a beautiful, awesome, wonderful, relationship with God.
It is imparitive that we take time away from here to seek God. This site can not replace God in our lives. I feel many use it that way....coming on here for their dose of hope. We have to learn to strengthen ourselves in The Lord. There is stuff I will face this week, and I KNOW I have to go get a filling from God in order to face it. Thus, the quiet time just resting in His Presence and absorbing His essance into my being.

Well, my attitude toward this whole thing has changed.
I was up one night to pray and really had a mini-vision of angels waiting for us to pray.
When Jesus took back dominion from the enemy he gave it to us and told us to do his work here on the earth.
I believe that we are in a position to pray and angels are released to go and do the work that they really WANT to do.
So, as any believer prays, I think that angels can RUSH to help.
I am praying in a whole new way for this site to become a place of prayer that will get LOTS of things done and help many, many people.
Rachel R
