son with tourette syndrome

Hello again. We just found out our son Cody, who is 5, is heading toward a diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome. Still mild, not needing medicaiton, but still sad for us. Please pray that it won't get worse, and he will develop tools to work with it? Thank you so much. Amy

Hi Amy! I just wanted to let you know that my heart goes out to you and your family. My brother was given the same diagnosis when her was young, about 5 years old. His diagnosis was also mild. He is now 21 years old and hardly has any twitching. It was something that subsided with time and something he grew out of a bit. It was very sad to watch his twitches and it was frustrating for him at times, but it didn't stop him from having a normal life, he still did everything he wanted to! I know kids can be cruel. Steve was teased, but he has always been a goofball
and would laugh with them and most of the time beat them to the punch. He actually turned it into a positive!!! So, although it is sad there is still nothing that can stop your son!!!!

My best friend has Tourette Syndrome. Her father has it. I have spent much time in my youth with their family and I didn't really notice it in her father much. He did have some ticks but very mild. My best friend is 34 and has just had a baby not long ago she turns 2 in November. I say all this to encourage you. My friend isn't on any medication since she started planning to have the first child. She is doing great.

I pray for this child. I ask you to protect him and keep him safe from harm. I ask you to heal him if that is your will. Sometimes I understand that our suffering makes us draw closer to you so Lord, I just ask your will be done for this one. In Jesus Name,Amen.
