Does it help reading the prayers?

I'm sorry if somebody has posted this before and asked, but I don't have much time, so I can't start looking. But anyways, I come here and read people's prayers, and when I know how I want to help people I love, I know how others feel wanting to help people they love. I want to help and I want to pray, but I'm not good putting prayers into words. Does it help if I read all the replies and read it and mean the prayers others have done? I'm a "new" Christian, and I'm just not good with putting up a "good" prayer, so I'm just wondering. And a silly question I think, but if I post a prayer that isn't really the best one ever, but still me trying to make a good one, is that one good to, even if it doesn't say the right words, and plead for the right things?

Posting is a blessing to the person who started the thread. At least pray, then post that you prayed for them. I like to read the actual prayers, in posted words, but if you are uncertain what to post, just tell them you prayed. The posts that bother me are when people are praying things contrary to God's Word. Like someone will want prayers for a relationship where they are living with someone they are not married to. The Bible plainly says this is sin, so we are not to pray that God blesses that. We should pray that the person is convicted that this is wrong and will put God, not that relationship, first. If you are not sure whether something is God's will, just pray God is glorified through the choices that person makes. Read the Bible regularly, and that will help you know what things are right and wrong, so you will better know how to pray. When in doubt, just post something like, "You are in my prayers," or "I said a prayer for you." The fact that you want to reply to people is a blessing.

Rememeber, there are moderators here who can help you when you pray something that is not in line with the Bible. We try to catch the situations where someone is praying to blessed in their sinning, and make it plain that what they are doing is wrong and not approved by God, therefore He will not bless it.

Of course, there are situations where someone is praying for direction, and in those circumstances, sometimes we can only answer to the best of what we think God has shown us in a similar situation. In those cases, there may be no right or wrong answer.

I hope this answered your question in a way that is helpful. Welcome to the site! I am posting before leaving for work, so if you reply back in here, I may be getting ready for work or leaving for work or already have left for work.

P.S. Never forget that The Holy Spirit wants to help you. Pray that He will lead you as you go to post.

What an encouragement it is to know that many people are reading and praying for these requests even though they do not post! I am so grateful for them. I can feel their support.

Even the act of reading them and lifting your thought of compassion up to God is prayer.

Please feel free to join us here.

One good thing to do is just come on with whatever words are on your heart.

It doesn't have to be a prayer.

'Praying for you.' can be a real encouragement to someone waiting to read those answering posts.

We are so glad to have you join us.

I find it very helpful to read the prayers of others. We have some who are truly gifted at finding the right words for the situation, and I learn from them. Sometimes they've said something so well that all I do is stand in agreement with their wise, beautiful prayer. You can do that too. At those times, I simply post a short prayer saying that I stand in agreement with the previous prayer. I post it so that the person who posted the original can see that someone truly cares about them.

When I come here to request prayer, I've made a rule for myself that I must pray for at least 3 other people after I've made my request. It keeps me in a spiritual frame of mind and helps me focus on Christ instead of self.
