Praise the name of The Lord Jesus. My grandchildren love the animated movie, The Prince of Egypt. They recite it by heart, watch it over and over, and they are 5 and 2-3/4. They absolutely love it. Praise God they understand a lot of it. My blessed precious 5 year old asked me why God killed the little boy (he knew God killed the little boy), as it showed the little boy dead on the table. I was stumped. I was silent. I feel badly and guilty that I did not give my precious one the true reason for obvious reasons. I did not feel led to tell my precious one it was because of disobedience of the father, in not letting the people free, that God killed the little boy . If anyone can offer a suggestion I will consider it. I do not want my grandson to be taught at his age, that if you or your dad are disobedient God kills you. IN JESUS NAME AMEN. Pray for me

Even the New Testement says the wages of sin is death. Perhaps, you could explain that it is because the man (Pharoah) rebelled continually against God and that our continued rebellion results in hurting, not just ourselves, but others. Also, Pharoah had ordered all those Jewish babies killed, so you could explain that he who lives by the sword dies by the sword. This is a chance to explain that you reap what you sow....not that 5 year old would understand reaping and sowing. Not sure of the best way....the object lesson here is that rebelling against God will result in a bad end.
