Hello,
I've just started college this year and met a wonderful new friend; I've always been strong in my faith and spirituality, but I have always made it my own. I have never followed any type of set religion really, I am Christian but I take ideas from other religions and sort of weave my own way. I believe that everyone has something that works for them and the rules in most set religions never appealed to me. My new friend has such good energy around her, she is so peaceful and loving, and she is also a Wiccan. I have always been open minded to everything and I just would like a prayer for guidance during my exploration. I know it is healthy to question and explore faith and spirituality, and I feel both excited and nervous about exploring somewhere that I haven't really explored before. Please pray for guidance, that I can figure out what is right for me, hand in hand with God the whole way. Thank you so much.

I am so sorry to hear this.
The bad news is that if you go off exploring I am sorry to tell you that you can't go 'hand in hand with God all the way'.
Christianity is all about choices. God set up a system where we can stay in the safe zone, or head out into the darkness, and he gives us free will to choose.
God won't 'guide' you through the study of witchcraft and satanism.
He says not to go there.
Why? Why would God say not to go there?
God doesn't want you to be hurt.
God tells us how to stay safe and strong, but we make the choices.
It is important to work out your own salvation, but since the Bible forbids everything about Wicca, this is not a path of God.

I pray you will understand, God is a rightceously jealous God, being creator and in control of all things. He declares that a True child of His cannot partake of the table of satan and of Christ at the same time. He also declares we cannot partake of the cup of devils and the "Cup of Christ" at the same time.
What you might think is that combining beliefs from all religions, Christian and Cult are fine, they are leading a person to Hell.
The "Ba'ahai" religion has also done that. It's absolutely against God. Why? It is believed "Ba'ahaula"- (originator) of that religion was "Christ incarnate". Impossible. Why? Not all Prophecies are fulfilled as yet to show Jesus could return as yet.
as for the "Wicca" religion, it is based upon, holds to beliefs and practices of witchcraft. God declares to be involved with such beliefs or practices is an abomination to Him.
Understand now why believing in so many different parts of all religions is against God? Alot of people in this world have no idea or conception, getting into such things puts them many times, in direct dealings with satan or his demons.
God refers to them in these situations as- "familiar spirits"- translated- evil ones, demons, the devil, etc.
Thus, I pray you will understand such things and drop the madness of so many false doctrine followers and come back solely to following God only.
Dear Lord- Give this young lady wisdom to understand this kind of path cannot be followed in rightly following you. Help her to see the deceptions of holding to so many false beliefs mixed with your Truth. Touch her heart and mind to be fully directed only towards you- the one and only True God of all things. In Jesus Name- Amen!!

They do a ceremony called "Drawing down the moon." This is what the Bible has to say about worshipping the moon:
Deuteronomy 4:19
And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.
Deuteronomy 17:3
And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;
As the following scripture shows the moon is to praise God; we are not to praise the moon:
Psalm 148:3
Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
As I looked up scriptures on the moon, I found reference after reference that said the Israelites were to make sacrifices to God on the new moon days. It is clear the moon was never meant to be worshipped. We are to worship God and God alone.
Exodus 20:3 - 6
3Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Father, in the name of Jesus I pray that Your Spirit would descend upon this person and cut through the deception with truth. I pray that You would use the past mistakes in this life to turn around another one for Your glory!
Lord reveal Yourself to this person today, in such a way that they will know You are the way, You are the truth and You are the light. I bring no counselling to the table, only Your word, Your Spirit and a prayer for this soul. In Jesus mighty name. Amen!

Lord, we pray that Melissa will not follow this path that seems right in the eyes of men....but leads to death. Keep her from this destruciton. Bring her to know and find all the power, energy and postivity she needs in YOU. Show her plainly that witchcraft is such a terrible subsitute for what only YOU can give....not only power, but all that LOVE besides. Shower her and saturate her in Your love! Let her know You are not trying to take anything from her or keep anything from her. Show her that You are trying to protect her from a very bad end. I pray she will be baptised in Your love and feel no need to search after any relgion or occult practice. Let her know that YOU alone, Jesus, are ALL she needs! In Jesus Name, we pray, amen.

I want to thank you all for your prayers, they are greatly appreciated. My friend has told me about her religion; I was curious to learn more about it from someone who practiced it, and I was surprised at what I learned, for instance, their only real rule is "Harm None." I have resolved to stick with Christianity though and remain friends with her, respect her and her choice of religion. Thank you again for all your prayers.

Well, the Bible says there is a way that seems right to man but the end is death. I would suggest to you that you need to read the Bible, nothing BUT the Bible. Do not take from other religions. Jesus said, "I am The Way, The Truth and The Life." You do not need to mix in other religions into your Christianity. There is only ONE WAY that leads to life. Jesus said no man comes to the Father but by Him. Jesus also said that straight it the gate and narrow is the way that leads to life, and FEW there be that find it. Jesus went on to say that the way to destruction was wide. If Jesus is THE ONLY WAY to eternal life, I see no reason you would dabble with other religion's ideas. Christianity is an exclusive relegion, because these other religions do not lead to life. They do not deal with the sin issue. They are either on a works program -- as in karma says do good in this life, so you can come back in a better state in your next life -- or on an "anything goes" program, as Satanism teaches do what you want to is the whole of the law. Don't you see that Jesus alone offers "By grace are you saved by fatih, not of works unless any man should boast." Jesus offers you the free gift of salvation, so you can spend eternity in Heaven and miss the burning fires of hell. More than that, you can spend eternity in GOD'S PRESENCE! Any other religion you follow ends you up in seperation from God. FLEE from these others relgions! RUN!
As to keeping a witch as a friend -- the Bible says not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. We are to have unsaved people whose lives we are speaking Jesus into...but the Old Testement also says "How can two walk together unless they are agreed?" I would not be hanging out with her, going places with her, sharing your personal life details with her. Guard yourself!
