A couple paragraphs from the article on MSNBC news page.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Iraq's High Tribunal on Sunday found Saddam Hussein guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced him to hang for the 1982 killing of 148 Shiites in the city of Dujail. The visibly shaken former leader shouted "God is great!"

The death sentences automatically go to a nine-judge appeals panel which has unlimited time to review the case. If the verdicts and sentences are upheld, the executions must be carried out within 30 days.

Another article said that he told the Iraqis NOT to get revenge on the US:

AMMAN, Jordan - Saddam Hussein urged Iraqis on Sunday to reject the sectarian violence ripping his country apart and to "not take revenge" on U.S. invaders, his chief lawyer said after the ousted leader was sentenced to death.

Lord God, when he said, "God is great!" does he mean YOU, or does he refer to Allah? We know that this month will be his last chance to come to repentance if the verdict is upheld. Lord, I pray he will repent and not go into a Christless eternity. He needs YOU, Lord! We pray for Saddam Husseins salvation. And may we here it clearly articulated that he really and truly did bow the knee to Jesus. His comments about uniting indicate a change of heart. Whatever the case, we pray that he is truly and really SAVED. We ask You to visit him in that prison or wherever he is detained. Show him Yourself, Jesus. Show him his need for You. We pray for his salvation, healing and deliverance. We pray he is filled with The Holy Spirit and all the fruits of the Spirit of love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, temperance, meekness. We ask and pray for the life transformation of Saddam Hussein. You are not willing that any sould perish, so we know we pray in accordance with Your will, and when we pray in accordance with Your will, we are confident we have the things we ask for. This is Mr. Hussein's elventh hour, Lord. Have mercy on his soul! In Jesus Name, amen.

Fathe, I stand in the gap for Saddam. Do not let him die without Jesus as Lord and Savior. No one should spend eternity in hell, not even Saddam. holy Spirit I release You over his life and heart. Do whatever You need to do to bring Saddam to repentance and Salvation through Jesus Christ. Forgive him Lord God and bring him into the Kingdom. AMEN!

Father, I pray, again, for Saddam Hussein to be saved. You alone know what needs to happen. I pray that You will minister to him in the way he needs that he may find Jesus as His Savior. You are not willing that any should perish, so we pray in accordance with Your will, which gives us the confidence that we will have what we ask for. You are such a loving God, and we know that You love Saddam Hussein no more or no less than any other. So, we ask that You would show him that God so loves the world, that He gave His only begotten son....that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Dear Lord Jesus-

Would this not be another incredible miracle, if you would convert Sadam over to Christianity? You once did it before with "Saul", the greatest persecutor of your children then. I pray you would bring his heart and mind around to understanding your Truth, so to drop to his knees and cry out to you in repentance and getting saved from eternal death. In Jesus Name- Amen!!

I ask YOU Lord God to bring this man to his knees before YOU asking for repentence of all his sins that he has committed against YOUR children. Papa thank you for the great faith of your children. They anticipate great things because they know intimately your love and power. Give us more love. Give us more power. And send the right ministers to Saddam. Pierce through the darkness of Islam and ruin the exalted thoughts in his own mind. His knees are destined to bow before Your Son. Now be exalted and receive glory from Saddam's life and circumstances. Let the bowing happen in the jail cell and after it's too late. But we also revere you as a God of Justice. And ask that you comfort the people of Iraq by Your justice. We do not lose sight of your heart for them and ask that you take away the fear and reproach and give them freedom to think and breathe again.

I have not heard the latest on Saddam Hussein. I pray, Lord, he has the opportunity to get saved. Show him his need for You. Turn his life around. Dear Lord, do not let him go into a Christless eternity. I pray that he gets this chance before he dies. Father, send a clear message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to him. I pray for the conviction of The Holy Spirit with Godly sorrow leading to repentance unto salvation. Let it be so, Lord, let it be so! In Jesus Name, amen.

Dear Father thank you that You love Saddam Hussein just like You love us and that Your desire for him is that he gets saved and that he be forgiven of his sins.

Lord of the harvest send out laborers, Your ministers to go give him the Gospel of Good News even as his appeal is still pending.

Save him from the possibilities of spending an eternity in everlasting horror and disgrace away from Your presence Father God.

May he accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior that he may live. Amen

They say Saddam may be hanged as early as Friday or as late as Sunday, but they are saying it's likely to happen this weekend.

In a letter, Saddam said, “Dear faithful people, I say goodbye to you, but I will be with the merciful God who helps those who take refuge in him and who will never disappoint any honest believer." In the same letter, he told them not to hate and get revenge on America. Could this mean he believes in God? At any rate, we need to be much in prayer for him, that he makes peace with God if he hasn't.

Dear Lord, I pray that Saddam Hussein will be saved and ready for heaven before this sentence is carried out. If extra time is needed for him to make that decision, let them get a stay of execution, as they are hoping to. I pray, Lord, that we will hear a good report, a FOR SURE report....Let us know if the words in this letter mean he is saved. Father, we cry out to You for mercy upon his soul! Let him be READY for Heaven! We pray this night, this weekend, that we will hear an awesome tesitmony of Saddam's salvation! Let this message get out; let us know of it. Let it reach into the hearts, lives and spirits of many. Turn his life to You and let him be a light for You. Turn what the devil meant for evil for good. As he is at the eleventh hour in his life, let Saddam Hussein be reached by You and be saved. I pray he is convicted by Your Holy Spirit with Godly sorrow leading to repentence unto salvation. We do not know what impact his execution will have for security in this world.

I earnestly pray that You will be done in this issue? Deal with it in the best way posssible.

Now that Saddam Hussein has been executed and the people that may have had hopes that he would some how return to power have lost that hope, perhaps a healing can begin in Iraq. I pray that evangelism will begin to happen there and that the people will have a hunger for the gospel and a desire to know the truth about Jesus.
The people of Iraq in many ways are like children who have never had to fend for themselves and suddenly find that they are on their own without anyone telling them what to do. As the country gets more freedom let us pray that it is not like the USSR when it fell. Russia is now full of pornography, drugs and other sinful habits.
I pray that Saddam Hussein's last breath was used to ask for forgiveness from his God for the many evil acts that he commited. I know I prayed for that until it was announced that he had been hung. I pray also that there is not a back lash against the Americans for his death.

I doubt he was saved. I read he went to his execution with a quran in his hand and he showed no regret. If he had been saved he would have shown regret. I didn't know that he would be executed today. A few days ago I thought about praying for him and asked myself if there is a chance he might convert but I thought that it's still time and now he's already dead.

Interesting group of deaths, at that....

Gerald R. Ford, loved and respected, helping our nation become stable and recover from dark times....Hussein quite the opposite....James Brown in between? It was good to hear that Gerald Ford was an honest man, a man of integrity and character. We needed that after Watergate. I was young, then, and didn't understand the national situation too well. But his candor, etc. was refreshing after the scandel. Many of the President's had hymns and prayers at their funerals, but something led me to believe Mr. Ford really knew the Lord.

Well, Lord, we speak LIFE into Iraq! The LIFE of Jesus Christ! This naiton needs LIFE to flood it's land. Send the Gospel of Jesus Christ to turn this land upside down. Let The Living Waters flow through Iraq. I pray the war will end, the deaths will stop....that Jesus Christ will bring LIFE to a war torn nation. We speak LIFE; we speak LIVE! In Jesus Name, amen.

Saddam Hussein, Defiant Dictator Who Ruled Iraq With Violence and Fear, Dies

The hanging of Saddam Hussein ended the life of one of the most brutal tyrants in recent history....Even at the end, he showed no remorse....Saddam Hussein was born on April 28, 1937, in a mud hut on stilts near the banks of the Tigris River near the village of Tikrit, 100 miles northwest of Baghdad. He was raised by a clan of landless peasants, his father apparently deserting his mother before his birth. (Government accounts said the father died.) “His birth was not a joyful occasion, and no roses or aromatic plants bedecked his cradle,” his official biographer, Amir Iskander, wrote in “Saddam Hussein, the Fighter, the Thinker and the Man,” published in 1981. Mr. Hussein told his biographer that he did not miss his father growing up in an extended clan. But persistent stories suggest that Mr. Hussein’s stepfather delighted in humiliating the boy and forced him to tend sheep. Eventually, he ran away to live with relatives who would let him go to school. Mr. Hussein’s first role in the rough world of Iraqi politics came in 1959, at age 22, when the Baath Party assigned him and nine others to assassinate Abdul Karim Kassem, the despotic general ruling Iraq. Violence was a quick way for a young man who grew up fatherless in an impoverished village to get ahead; bloodshed became the major theme of his life. During the failed assassination, Mr. Hussein suffered a bullet wound to the leg. The official version portrayed him as a hero who dug the bullet out with a penknife, while the other version suggests that the plot failed because he opened fire prematurely. He sought asylum in Egypt, where President Gamal Abdel Nasser nurtured the region’s revolutionary movements. Soon after returning to Iraq, Mr. Hussein married his first cousin and the daughter of his political mentor, Sajida Khairallah Tulfah, on May 5, 1963. The couple had two sons, Uday and Qusay, and three daughters, Raghad, Rana and Hala. He had mistresses, including prominent Iraqi women, but never flaunted them. His wife, three daughters and roughly a dozen grandchildren survive him. Uday and Qusay, along with Qusay’s teenage son, Mustapha, died in July 2003 during a gun battle with American forces in a villa in the northern city of Mosul....He was imprisoned at Camp Cropper, near the international airport some 10 miles from Baghdad, on the grounds of a former palace complex that the United States military turned into a prison for senior members of the government. The prison consisted of three rows of single-story buildings surrounded by a double ring of razor wire. Mr. Hussein was kept in solitary confinement — letters and care packages including cigars sent via the Red Cross from his wife and daughters living in Qatar or Jordan were his main contact with the outside world. Bush, even though he (Bush) might not know it.” That’s because God had to stop Saddam Hussein from invading Israel, DeYoung said. “The Bible says nothing about the country that is the present Iraq invading Jerusalem and that’s what Saddam was planning to do,” DeYoung explained. “God had to stop that.”....DeYoung said it is difficult to get valid information about what’s happening in the Middle East. I had heard Pastor Steve Solomon, of Praise in the Night, prophesy that there would be some fallen kings before 2007.

I read what was posted about the three and wondered if these were the ones that God was talking about.

James Brown was the considered the king of soul.

So I called thier prayer line and asked if James Brown was one of the kings that was in the prophecy.

The person I spoke with said no, that the prophecy was referring to politacal leaders. WHich was Ford and Hussein.
