A CALL TO PRAYER, TO INTERCESSORS AROUND THE WORLD

There are many speculations being tossed about during this time in
history about world events in the Middle East. Having recently returned
from three nations in this region, I have garnered what I believe to be
spiritual intelligence about how to pray concerning the Middle East,
with a special emphasis on Iraq.
In addition to this, during the past few months I have been to
Washington D.C. and the United Nations in New York for a time of
intercession. Factored into this report is the prophetic counsel of
other major prophets.
1. CONCERNING PULLING TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ:
After being on the ground in Iraq, I realize that removing allied troops
could result in the death of thousands and thousands in Iraq. The
Christians, of course, are most vulnerable-especially the Kurds.
Hundreds of thousands died during Saddam Hussein's regime and this could
happen again.
2. IS THIS ARMAGEDDON?
This question was posed to a group of prophets. The consensus was that
Satan wants to escalate the end-time clock but we must pray, because any
World War that leads to Armageddon would be premature. We are, however,
experiencing end-time birth pangs.
Daniel 7:25 states: "He shall speak pompous words against the Most High,
shall persecute (some translations say wear out) the saints of the Most
High, And shall intend to change times and law." (NKJV).
One of the prophets shared that God had shown him that Satan was trying
to "change times and law" in 1996 and start a World War in Asia.
Intercessors around the world were alerted to pray and stop it, and it
had been averted by the year 2000.
This is trying to happen again. My assessment of what is happening in
the Middle East is that we must pray and avert what is happening at the
moment. Satan is trying to "re-structure" the earth. He is shifting his
power base to change times and law.
Daniel 7:26 speaks of our authority in the earth, "But the judgment
shall be set (by the court of the Most High), and they shall take away
his dominion, to consume it (gradually) and to destroy it (suddenly) in
the end." (NKJV).
We know these passages represent both the present kingdom and the future
kingdom of God. In intercession we "take away his dominion" now, and
someday it will be utterly destroyed.
This re-structuring of the earth involved re-aligning nations. For
instance, the principality over Communism has now moved its major
emphasis to Latin America through Chavez in Venezuela and has resulted
in governments shifting to the left.
Remember that Satan is a strategist. Sadly, many believers today are
ignorant of world events and are tactical; they simply try to survive
and knock aside any assaults of the enemy. We need to be strategic in
our thinking and praying, and develop a "global worldview" in
intercession.
Intercessors across the globe need to pray and stand together to release
the will of God into the earth as it is in heaven. We are not only
experiencing culture wars, we are experiencing kingdom wars.
While I know that it is not common in an intelligence report to quote
spiritual history, I feel it appropriate to do so now. This is not the
first time the world has been in this shape, with things looking very
dark and dire.
Consider Britain during World War II and this story from Katherine
Carter's book, Hand on the Helm:
In September 1940, Churchill received intelligence reports that a Nazi
air invasion was impending. Since Nazi factories were able to produce
planes more quickly than the British, there was little doubt the Royal
Air Force would be badly outnumbered.
The attack ensued with more than two hundred Nazi bombers droning toward
England. Only twenty-six squadrons rose from British soil to oppose
them.
Then inexplicably the discs on the wall chart began to move eastward.
The great Nazi air flotilla had turned back. With 185 of the aircraft
downed in flames they were in retreat! Miraculously, against all
logistical probability, the Royal Air Force had won the battle.
Amazing reports came from downed Nazi pilots. [Several were] quizzed as
to why they had turned back when only two planes were attacking.
"Two?" exclaimed one pilot, "There were hundreds!" Another Luftwaffe
officer asked them in perplexity, "Where did you get all the planes you
threw into battle over Britain?" His British interrogators managed to
mask their surprise.
Actually, the powerful Nazi bomber force had been met by a mere handful
of little outmoded Royal Air Force Spitfire and Hurricane fighters.
There was no sky full of Royal Air Force planes!...
A Nazi intelligence officer captured still later came nearest to
disclosing the divine source of the.mirages which had confused the
Luftwaffe pilots.
"With the striking of your Big Ben clock each evening at nine," the Nazi
told the British intelligence officer, "you used a secret weapon which
we did not understand. It was very powerful, and we could find no
countermeasure against it."
He was right! There was a powerful force set in motion each evening as
Big Ben struck nine. It was the powerful force of a nation in heartfelt
prayer against which no countermeasure could hope to prevail - a nation
in prayer to the omnipotent God of creation.
Each evening as Big Ben in the clock tower of the Parliament Building
struck nine, the people of the British Isles and of the far-flung
English Commonwealth halted for the famous Silent Moment of Prayer.
