It's Raining, It's Pouring...

I'm praying that the river doesn't overflow its banks tonight. It's raining on and off steady and sometimes a hard downpour. We've had rain on and off for the past 3 days, so the ground is saturated.
The sinkhole in the yard opened some new fissures and the water is going in easily for now. But if the river crests, the water has no where to go but into my basement.

We have an appointment with our lawyer tomorrow and he thinks we have a strong case of fraud against the realtors and the former owners of this house. The inspector may be involved also.
He is a good lawyer, a Christian, so it's comforting when he's talking laws and statutes and then quotes the Bible!

I am trusting God in this and I know that He will use this adverse situation for good and He will get the glory!
I am praying for patience as our lawyer is a one-man operation and he is having to type his own paperwork and answer the phone. He has a very frugal office downtown; half the time it looks closed and not in business, but he was recommended to us by the legal assistance people on post and he is the only lawyer who bothered to return our calls.
When I told him that the former owner walks through our neighborhood and it just bugged me how he can have the nerve to walk by our house after lying to us; our lawyer replied with,"Don't let your anger cause you to sin." and "Vengence is mine says the Lord."
I think we found the right lawyer!

Lord, keep Sharyn and her family safe. I pray the rain stops and the river doesn't flood. (Ditto this county and the Skagit River!). I ask that her basement is dry and that no-one is misplaced by flooding. They say where it floods on a river, the Lord is fixing to send a Holy Spirit flood....So send a Holy Spirit flood to where Sharyn lives.

Lord, I pray they find favor regarding the case against the realtor and former owner of the house. I pray their lawyer is most helpful in this matter. Give him wisdom and insight. I pray that they are treated fairly and get a good outcome. Give them a recourse in this situation.

My neighbor helped me sandbag the yard and basement door yesterday. The radar was showing heavy storms headed our way within 30 to 45 minutes, with a potential of 2 inches of rain to fall. At that time, the river was about 2 feet from coming into our yard.
We sandbagged and caulked up the side door. I was praying with each step and sandbag that the rain would stave off.

Thank You, Jesus! The most we got was some drizzle and colder temperatures, but no fierce downpour! My neighbor thinks we sandbagged for nothing, but I know that the Lord diverted the rain and kept us dry.

I know this is a time of trial and testing. The Lord is going to use our experience for His good. Pastor Todd talks about everything belonging to God. Everything we work for and regard as important; it all belongs to Him. In a flash, or in our case, a flash-flood, it can all be taken away.
I am learning to trust God in this. My friend Tonya was saying today that I am going to have to just give this whole thing to God, no taking it back and trying to carry it on my shoulders. Our lawyer was saying that we are going to have to do as the Lord told the people in jeremiah- set up house, have children (Sarah and Abraham here ) and just continue on- He (God) is in control and although we don't know how this is going to shake out- God does.
