Tiffany has two cats, and her new roommate has a dog. When moving in the roommate said that if her dog was a problem, that she would take it back to her parents. Now that the dog is a problem, and the cats are reacting by peeing on Tiffany's bed, the roommate has reneged on her offer to take the dog back to her parents house. They need help.

Now, you may think I am nuts, but hear me out.
One of my things is talking to animals.
I firmly believe that they understand you.
People need to speak to their animals and be careful what they say.
I would try to explain the problem to the cats and the dog.
Let them know that you are concerned and need them to get along.
I know, I know. It sounds crazy, but it might be worth a try.
Couldn't hurt.
Unless someone hears you...

I'll bet you thought I was kidding...
But I wasn't.
Did you try it?

If it were my animals, I'd either seek out a behaviorist or ask someone who rescues for advice. Dogs and cats can learn to live together. My cat has some Chihuahua friends and she didn't meet them until she was 6 years old. When we had them over to dogsit, we had no problems.
One thing that can be done is to rub the dog down with a dry towel. Put that towel under the cats' food and water dishes so that they come to associate the dog's scent with something pleasant. If the dog is the aggressor, train the dog with a command used only when there is a negative interaction with the cats.
Heavenly Father,
Please bless these roommates with the resources needed so they and their pets can live in harmony with one another as You wish for all of Your creations to do. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
