I would like everyone to hold this picture in your heart as you pray for the Children who live and die on the fields of war.

Pray also for the Men and Women who hold these babies in their arms to heal their bodies and hearts of the wounds inflicted by those with hardened hearts.

Pray also for the men who are killing and maiming. They too need Jesus as Lord and Redeemer... Just like you and me.

Pray for peace in Jerusalem, Baghdad, Kabul, Amman, Damascus, Beirut, Tehran, and the leaders of ALL the Middle Eastern countries.

I checked this with Snopes. This is a true picture and story.

A Star in Iraq

This is something that you'll never see in the news. The American public needs to realize that what we're doing over there is making a difference. Even if it is one little girl at a time. James Gates U.S. Navy

This, my friends, is what we need to remember.

Got a tough, but heartwarming story and a picture of John Gebhardt in Iraq. Anyway, his wife Mindy related that this little girl's entire family was executed. They intended to execute her also and shot her in the head but they failed to kill her. She was cared for by John's hospital and healing up, but has been crying and moaning. The nurses said John is the only one she seems to calm down with, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both sleep in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.
John came home in early October 2006.

He is a real Star of the war and is representative of what America is trying to do.

Humble chief gains national attention

by Staff Sgt. Jeremy Larlee
Air Force Print News

11/10/2006 - MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kan. (AFPN) -- All of the attention embarrasses him, but as this chief master sergeant learned recently, a lifetime of caring and good deeds is bound to catch up with you eventually.

Chief Master Sgt. John Gebhardt, superintendent of the 22nd Wing Medical Group here, recently gained worldwide attention for a photo of him holding an injured Iraqi child. The photo was taken about a month ago, while he was deployed to Balad Air Base in Iraq.

The young infant had received extensive gunshot injuries to her head when insurgents attacked her family killing both of her parents and many of her siblings. The chief had a knack for comforting her and they often would catch a cat nap together in a chair.

Now, he is back at home in Wichita, Kan., with his wife, Mindy. They have a warm, hospitable home five minutes away from McConnell Air Force Base. His son Ryan, 25, and daughter Amber, 23, have long since outgrown being cradled and he said he thought about them constantly while he held the Iraqi child.

"I got as much enjoyment out of it as the baby did," he said. "I reflected on my own family and life and thought about how lucky I have been."

His affection for children is no secret to his wife, Mindy. While dating John in high school, she watched how he bonded with the child of a coach of one of his athletic teams. That softer side of him is one of the reasons she married him.

"People see him as this tough guy," she said, "but I always see that other side of him that is full of compassion."

The chief, who grew up in Jordan, New York, is not at home in the spotlight. When asked to talk about himself, he always tries to switch the focus to the other military people who served with him at Balad.

While deployed to Iraq, the chief tried to help out any way he could. He figured holding a baby that needed comforting that would free up one more set of arms that could be providing care to more critical patients.

"If I have an opportunity to help out, I look for that opportunity," he said. "They had more than enough to do."

The chief was not alone in volunteering at the hospital. There were more than 800 different volunteers at the hospital during the time he was deployed to Iraq, he said. Some of them volunteered so much that he mistakenly thought they were assigned to the hospital.

When Mindy describes the best qualities of her husband, the first word out of her mouth is integrity. She said the photo of her husband and the Iraqi child truly represents him. She believes he has been so successful because he is such a straight-shooter and puts others' welfare ahead of his own.

"He never leads anyone astray," she said. "He will never do something for himself that would have a negative effect on someone else. He always tells it like it is."

But, the chief attributes his success to his family.

"Without their support I don't know where I would be," he said. "I definitely wouldn't be in the position I am."

And it is the chief's hope that families in Iraq will receive the same kind of support in the future. They are just like American families, Chief Gebhardt said.

"I pray for the best for the Iraqi children," he said. "I can't tell the difference between their kids and our kids. The Iraqi parents have the same care and compassion for their children as any American."

Life is calmer for Chief Gebhardt now that he is back home, and even though his recent "fame" has highlighted an eventful 27-year career, he said he wouldn't change a thing.

"If I had to do it over again, I would sign up and give it another ride," he said.

Father Bless the Men and Women who are serving in the war zones showing love to those who taunt them, mercy to those who hate them. Lord let them feel Your arms around them and guide them to those who need their help. Guide them away from traps and death. Let their touch calm the children around them and show the little ones Your face when they see the face of a soldier. Let the Children look into the eyes of Your love and run to You Lord. Protect the children and stop the terror of not knowing who may kill them or their family. Lord touch the Children with your Love. Thank You Jesus for loving the little ones, bless them and change their lives with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You Jesus! AMEN!

Father, I stand in agreement with these prayers. I pray these Iraqi children are given a chance to know Jesus as their Savior. I ask, Lord, that many will become saved, to the Glory of God. I have heard of the visions of Jesus many Muslims are having. Send these visions to the children. Save the children, and let them lead the partent to You! Send Your Spirit to Iraq and all Muslim nations in a MIGHTY WAY, in a mighty outpouring. Let these naitons be evangelized; let souls upon souls be saved. In Jesus Name, amen.

That's such a beautiful story! (Tears of Joy) Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! My baby Peter is the same way with children, one of the reasons why I married him.

O dear gracious Lord, bless these soldiers in what they do to help the children of war. Please be with these hurting children! I thank you for extending a hand of compassion to these children using the arms of soldiers. Please protect more children from being hurt or killed. Please send your angels to protect and comfort them. Please look out for these children and families O Lord. Lord, I do ask for peace in the Middle East, particularily in Jerusalem, Baghdad, Kabul, Amman, Damascus, Beirut, and Tehran. I ask that you would send blessings to the leaders of these countries, leading the, to knw Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. Lord, I ask that insurgents and those involved in holy war are led to know Jesus as thuer personal Lord and Savior. Lead some of these people with hardened hearts to repentance. I ask that you would lead terroists of Al Queida to know Jesus as thier personal Lord and Savior and that they would become a spassionate about preaching the Gospel as they once were for killing o behalf of Allah. Our miniister mentioned in church one Sunday Osama Bin Laden's need for a Savior. I say Amen to that! Lord, I know you can work wonders and beautiful miracles. I thank you for what you have done already to lead people to repentance, and I ask that many more come to repentance. Lord, please bless the men and women who serve the needs of the hurting people in Irag and elsewhere in the Middle East. Please do something to stop the violence before more children get maimed. I ask of you all of these things in Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.

We all learn things three basic ways in life, there’s a fourth, but it comes much later for most of us. The first way is by observation starting from the time we’re babies. We learn to copy the things we see our parents and older siblings and relatives do. This kind of learning continues until we breathe our last breath in this life.

The second is by instruction after we learn to communicate with those around us, then we receive instruction.

The third is by personal experience of trying to apply what we’ve learned from the other two. This also starts from the time we’re children.

Now realizing all this, it begs the question, what are we teaching the children? What are they learning about dealing with good and bad and how to treat their fellow man? Through all this turmoil and back and forth, killing and maiming, what are they learning from us?

It’s very likely that they will grow up to repeat the same example of life they learned as children. We must quit repeating the mistakes of the past and start setting new and better examples for the children to follow. The same way Jesus came to set a better example for all of us of how to live our lives. I know the saints gathered here, are doing exactly what God wishes them to do, and that's to pray for His will to be done, Amen? I add my prayer to all these and ask you all to forgive my ranting.

Heavenly Father, author of our salvation, blessed be Your holy name. Thank You for the precious gift of this day and the many blessings You generously shower Your loved ones with. Forgive us all Lord of our sins and debts and mistakes that are displeasing to You. Wash us all clean of our unrighteousness, make us acceptable in Your sight again and fill us up with Your Holy Spirit. I come to You in prayer asking in faith and believing in Your infinite power and wisdom over all the universe and everything it holds for a blessing of peace and protection for the children of this ravaged country and in all the countries around the world. Help our leaders Lord, to understand what Your will and purpose at this time for these regions and these lives are and what You would have them do, to provide the right example for the children. Bless these children with provision to meet their individual needs. Send them the Champion, our Lord Jesus, to show them how to live a godly life that will be a testimony to Your limitless grace, love and mercy and create a lasting example that these children and their children's children will remember always.

Lord, be with our men and women in uniform as they go about their daily routines in Iraq and around the globe. Anoint their footsteps, their thoughts and their actions so that they become shining examples of Your Truth and Love to all they encounter. Send Your heavenly hosts to defend them and keep them from all harm. Show our leaders at home and in all the governments involved, how to resolve this conflict in a godly way so our children came come home to their families. I trust and believe You have the perfect answer to all these problems and I ask that You release the blessings to answer all these prayers.

I claim the promise and victory of Jesus that whatever we ask in His holy name, You will provide for us according to Your perfect will. These things I ask and pray in the most precious holy name of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Amen and amen - Your brother in Christ - Jon Henry

BTW - The fourth way we learn is by divine instruction from the Holy Spirit through prayer. Amen? God Bless you all in abundance.
