first witness

Today was a great day. After nearly 20 years of being a Christian, I finally was able to witness to someone about Jesus. A man who lives down the street from me rang my doorbell today. I had met him once before when he needed a ride and wanted to borrow a dollar( to buy liquor), that time I gave him a dollar and a ride but for some reason just couldn't say anything to him about Jesus. But today he came asking for money again, I had a $5 bill on me and gave it to him, but he just stood there. We started talking and after a couple minutes he said "the devil is after me". That really opened the door!! I was able to share with him that the devil is after us all, but that God can beat the devil. We talked about God, and that led to Jesus. He knew John 3:16 and that led me to talk about just how much God loved us. Later he mentioned having children and that one had just called him out of the blue, and that led to me being able to explain just how great a love it took for God to give us His child Jesus. Half way through out talk he was crying, and I could see that God was dealing with him. He never made a profession, but I left him with the knowledge that all it takes it being able to go to God and admit he was a sinner which he had admitted to me, and believe that Jesus gave His life for his sins. It felt like a feeble attempt at first, but after he walked away and I started praying for him God reminded me of the verse, " One man plants, another waters, But God brings the harvest" I may not have brought him to salvation today, but the seed is now planted and I pray that God sends the waterer and harvest soon. I would like everyone to pray for The Man who Lives Near James, that God will take what was planted and bring forth ripe fruit soon.
Lord reach out to the man who lives near me and bring him to salvation through Your Son Jesus Christ. Lord bless this man who has nothing, take him and save him and make him into a great witness for You, maybe even the next great evangelist to preach Your word. Father thank You for the opportunity to share Your love and words with someone for the first time, bless the words that came from You Dear God for I am just Your servant, You are God. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Amen, yes Lord, bring this person to you quickly. Do a mighty work in him and his family. I pray a hedge of protection around him and his family and plead the blood of Jesus on his behalf. We agree together on this Lord, and you said you would do it, and we believe you, in your name, amen.

Lord Jesus, again I want to lift up this man whom I don't even know his name but have shared Your word with. Father send the Holy Spirit into his life that he may come to know Your Son Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and that he may be delivered from alcoholism and dispair and brought into the joy and freedom of Your love. Father bless the words I said to him and bring about the harvest of the seed that was planted. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Lord Jesus again I ask that you reach out to this man I shared Your word with to help the seed planted that day to grow to maturity of salvation in his life. Lord bless the words he heard and keep them in his heart as he searches for meaning in this life. Help him to know that meaning is You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
