Terrible Alcohol and Drug Addiction

Please pray for Dwayne. He is a otherwise wonderful man and I love him dearly but he is soooo addicted to drugs and alcohol. He finally admitted to a "little" drinking problem after months of us being apart. I left him and told him I would not go back and definately would not marry him unless he got some help. Its been several months now and he calls w/ drunk crying to beg me to just come home. I won't. I love him and I believe in him but I just can't do that right now.
Since leaving him, I have gotten back in attending church, finding my own destiny and recieved wonderful prophecies concerning the things God has for me to do. I hope he will be apart of it all one day, but...
So I am asking for your prayers for him today and also I put in for a g-r-e-a-t job and pray that it too will come through for me.

Father God, I ask that you would bless Dwayne. Lord, I can not imagine how much he is struggling, give him strength to do what he needs to do, put people in his path and lead him the way he should go. I love you Lord, and I trust you to do this. Shower blessings upon there relationship and Lord, do what would please you. In Jesus Name, Amen.

What courage it took to leave him and start a new life in Christ!

I pray that you will be married to the next person you live with.

It is the only happy and healthy way to live.

Lord, I cry out to you for dear Dwayne!

Please corner him and pressure him and speak to his heart.

Please surround him with many voices of truth that he will listen to.

Bless this dear woman for stepping out of darkness and into the light!

I bless her with wisdom and freedom and glorious fruitfulness!

Send her to the job that needs her gifts so badly and help her become the finest employee that they have.

I bless her with abundant prosperity!

Lord I lift up pray for Dwayne. before you praying that You will heal and help him get off drugs and alcohol.

You spirit of bondage that drives Dwayne into drinking and taking drugs, I expose and bind you today in the Name of Jesus. Wither right now and leave Dwayne's body, mind, sould and spirit.

Father throw Your hedge of protection about Dwayne, heal him and open his eyes to see You and to allow You to take control of his life. Amen

I also use to be like Dwayne and thats wife my wife left me. I give thanks to the Lord and to my wife for making that decision to leave me. It change my entire life and even though my wife and I are still seperated she has seen my change and hasnt really ask me anything about our divorce. I thank the Lord that he gave you the courage to leave him so he will clean his act. He if he really loves you he will clean his act and you will see him change. I have been waiting for my wife to come back to me its been 4 months but still has doubts about my change. I will continue to do whats right and will take care of my health. I know that if that man changes for you he is the man you should marry. Give it lots of time and keep praying that the Lord will remove all the bad influence around him and that he leaves the drinking for you.. I will included Dwayne in my prayers and will ask the Lord to help him leave everything that arming his body..

Forgiven23: thanks for sharing a bit of your testamony. While reading it there was a point that seemed to really stand tall for me. Thank you so much and thank you all for your prayers. This man is a really, really wonderful man when he is not drunk and high. His heart is in the right place as far as caring for family and he is not afraid to express his feelings. But he is alcoholic in the worst way (it is really killing him and if he tried to quit "cold turkey" he really would go into DT's or worst). Its a savage attack of the enemy on him. He sings gospels in the shower and cries to the Lord at times. But as soon as the urge hits (every hour on the hour) he has to run to it.
I have never seen anyone so severely sick in 41 years of living.
