Please pray for discipline. Pray that God will do a deep cleansing work in me to purify me of all the "little sins." I know that I'm undisciplined, and I won't be able to step into my calling unless I become pure. Pray that I'll be able to quit caffeine, and wake up early everyday to seek God; and also that I'll be careful with my money. I so want to be made holy!

Seth, the things you are asking for are not accomplished over night. Let me share with you the understanding given me of how this is gonna work.

First of all, thank you. Thank you for caring enough about your relationship with God to wanta come here and ask for prayer. That didn't happen by accident. You are a precious child of God and He loves you very very much and so do we.

Discipline is a matter of choice and our ability to exercise our right of choice over the temptations of the world. The operative word in there was "choice" which is a gift of God and He won't violate that. We have to give it back to Him by surrendering our will to His and following His purpose for our lives. In God's eyes, there are no "little sins". He tells us in scripture, that if we keep all the commandments or all the laws and are guilty of breaking even the slightest of them, we are guilty of breaking them all. We have to learn to exercise self control and restraint against doing what we know is harmful to ourselves and others around us.

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." James 2:10

I make a point of this because all too often we delude ourselves into thinking, a small sin won't offend God like a really bad one will. In truth, they all give the devil a foot hold in our lives that he uses to ease us into ever increasing habits of sin that drives a wedge between us and our Father in heaven. When we suffer that disconnect with God, then we find ourselves confused and lost. I'm talking from personal experience. It's not fun to be outside the grace of God once you've come to know His peace and the comfort of His protection.

The good news is, God's abundant grace and forgiveness works the same for the big sins as they do for the little ones. All we have to do is repent ( turn away from) our sins, confess them (admit we were wrong and where) and ask for forgiveness with the sincere intent of not doing it again and we get a clean slate to start over with, everyday or multiple times a day if necessary. (I'm finally down to under 100 times a day myself). The more I do this, the easier it becomes. So get ready to make it a life long habit.

It takes work and exercise to maintain a right relationship with God. Kind of like an athlete training to stay in good shape. Only real difference is, as Christians we use prayer and reading scripture and fellowship instead of weights and physical exertion, but the basic concept is the same. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Once we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior it becomes much easier, because He'll fight all of our battles for us, if we'll just get out of His way.

I'm hoping you already know alot of this, but humor me and listen to it again.

The other thing is, if you wait until "you're pure to step into your calling", you're in for a long long wait. Get with God and then get right. It's the same for all of us and it's another life long process of refining and testing and improving until the day He calls us home.

Try small steps first, start a habit of praying every morning for 10 minutes, and reading every evening a chapter or two in the Bible. Build a true personal relationship with God and Jesus, and talk to them during the day. They like that alot. Find some other Christians you can fellowship with and become a member of the family. Then learn to ask God before you make decisions and be ready to trust Him and do what He tells you, no matter how little sense it makes. He always knows best and He has nothing but the best waiting for you to claim the warehouse of blessings that He's already holding for you .

God's will can never take you, where His grace can't protect you.

Heavenly Father, beloved merciful God, Thank you for the precious gift of this brother and for filling him with the desire to be a servant of Your kingdom. He's struggling with the enemy and he needs Your help. Cleanse him of all unrighteousness and make him pure and acceptable in Your sight again. Holy Spirit speak to his heart and convict him of his need to confess all his sins to Heavenly Father. Bring to his mind each iniquity that he needs to confess before God one by one so he wont be crushed by the weight of them all at one time. Replace his confusion and lack of sense of direction with the knowledge of Your purpose for his life. Fill him with Your love and gentleness and the gifts of the spirit to use as tools in Your kingdom for Your glory. Bless him with abundant joy and fullness of life and let his testimony be a magnet for others like him seeking their own ways to Your grace and mercy.

I claim the promise of Jesus that whatever we ask in His holy name, You will accomplish for us according to Your perfect will. In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Sorry this went long, it wasn't really my knowledge. God will give us what we need to know or say to others if we just ask Him. He was talking as much to me and some others here as He was to you. It was my fingers and my PC, but He did the rest. And I kinda like it that way.

God bless

Your brother in Christ

Don't wait for perfection or let discouragment hold you back.

STEP into your calling. LEAP into your calling. RUN into your calling.

Start rattling knobs and see what doors open.

If the Bible is any indication, God can get a LOT done with imperfect types!

I would rather see one inch of REAL than a yard of RELIGIOUS.

Your righteousness isn't the point anyway, HIS IS!

Thank GOD for that!

I can't wait to hear what God has for you!
