Are we responsible for what they do with our money?

I just read an article about a Brazilian Pastor that is being charged with embezzlement, and other such crimes. He and his wife are being compared to Jimmy and Tammy Faye Baker. The question, then is this, "Are we responsible for what the church does with our money"?

I know Jesus says not to cast our pearls upon swine.

Proverbs 29:24 says not to partner with a thief, for by so doing we "hate our own soul".
