PBS Documentary: The Mormons

Did anyone get a chance to see this? Your comments are welcome.

Personally, being LDS, I thought it was pretty good (the first part anyway), but was pretty soaked with historical and doctrinal inaccuracies.

I would like to know what others thought about it.

Austin, you are nothing if not persistent

As I have said before how sad for you to spend so much time trying to I guess convience us that somehow Mormonism is true.

I feel really sorry for you.

The only truth that matters is God's Word. That's it. There is nothing else. It is absolute.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

I pray that one day you will finally see the light and realize that God is the only way. I continue to pray for your salvation.

Uh...thanks... I think.

As I have stated before, I am not trying to convince anyone that what I believe is true. Such a thing is against the principles of the LDS church.

I am however hoping for honest and open religious dialog. In particular, this thread was opened in the hopes that folks had feedback from the documentary. Let me know if you do.

Hey MarvelousWork, good to see you back.

No, I'm afraid I haven't since I do not have cable or satelite TV. The point of fact tho remains, without documented proof that can be viewed by the public showing a clear and authentic connection between the BOM to God's only True Word- "Bible", I would suggest several of us here on Annointed have already shown enough documented proof, just from Bible Scriptures, the BoM is not of God nor another Test. of Jesus Christ.

Tho I do enjoy going thru book, chapter and verses of both to show the BoM discrepancies. So far, no Mormon Elder or LDS follower has been able to refute them with any accuracy.

Hi again CC,

I just wanted to see if anyone had any impressions on the documentary.

I am interested though in your take on the Book of Mormon. Please feel free to post your take on various passages, etc and I will make a fair attempt to explain what they mean to the average Latter-day Saint. Maybe a new thread would be appropriate.

Here is one of my favorites that is a good summary of LDS belief:

And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
