I need someone to clarify this. When Jesus comes back for His church, "the rapture", and we are all "gathered up" "in the twinkling of an eye" does Jesus go to heaven with all of us or does He remain on earth?
Does He then come back a third time to set up His 1,000 year reign?

Yes, in I Thess. 4:14-17, it shows the rapture, where Christ only reaches the clouds and calls to His Church. The dead in Christ- (bodies ressurrected of dead Saints) will rise first, and as they rise, then those who are alive will be caught up with them, and so shall we be with the Lord forever.
This shows where Christ takes His Bride- Church, back to Heaven with Him, for a marriage to eventually take place- Rev. 19:7-9.
The Rapture is an event, where only believers will see Christ or hear Him, but Jesus never reaches the earth. Yet, in His "Second coming"- Retrn- Rev. 19:11-21, you'll see where every eye on earth will see Him returning. At His return, He does come completely back to this old earth, to set up His Kingdom, to rule and reign for 1,000 years.
No, not a third tme. Christ only comes to this old earth twice. He once spent His first time here, as the Messiah, and ultimate Sacrifice for our sins, to overcome death y sin. But, at His second bodily visit, where He reaches earth again, it will be as "King of Kings and Lord of Lord's", to rule and reign for 1,000 years.
At the Rapture, Jesus never reaches the earth, only the clouds- firmament, where He then with a loud voice, as a trumpet and voice of Arch Angel Micheal, He calls to us to meet Him at the firmament.
If weren't going back to Heaven with Christ at that point, we would not need to be transformed, sinful to sinless, corrupt to incorrupt. Thats why in I Cor. 15 51-54, we see where mortal takes on immortality. We will if want to be with God in Heaven tho.
Pray this helps.
God Bless!!

No problem. You see, for years, while I was really studying and researching God's Word at the start, I was hearing discussios to debates to arguments over wether there was a Rapture or not.
But, here is a list of each grouping of Scriptures I came up with as God guided me back then, to show the Rapture and Christ's Bodily Return to earth are two seperate events-
Rapture-
John 14:1-3, Rom. 8:19, I Cor. 1:7-8, 16:51-53,16:22, Philip 3:20-21, 4:5, Colo. 3:4, I Thess. 1:10,2:19,4:13-18, 5:9, 5:23, II Thess. 2:1, I Tim. 6:14, II Tim. 4:1,8, Titus 2:13, Heb. 9:28, Jam. 5:7-9, I Peter 1:7.13, 5:4, I John 2:28-3:2, Jude 21, Rev. 2:25, 3:10, Rev. 4:1.
Bodily Return-
Dan. 2:44-45, 7:9-14, 12:1-3, Zech. 12:10, 14:1-15, Matt. 13:41,24:15-31, 26:64, Mark 13:14-27, 14:62, Luke 21:25-28, Acts 1:9-11, 3:19-21, I Thess. 3:13, II Thess. 1:6-10, 2:8, I Pet. 4:12-13, II Pet. 3:1-14, Jude 14-15, Rev. 1:7, 19:11-20:6, 22:7,12,20.
That hould help clarify some things wen look at differences between these two events.
God Bless my friend!!

we must not be deceived, the bible state clearly that first the lord will come with the clouds, and he will not put a foot on ground{rapture}, but with his second coming he will put his foot on the ground.

You've got a Scripture that speaks of Christ's return, mixed up with one for the Rapture.
The one you spoke of is when Christ returns bodily to the earth as the Old Test reference claims- ("with 10,000's of His Saints")-(New Test, He gathers the armies of Heaven Rev. 19:14, along with other Scriptures that speak of His gathering of the Saints from East to West, North to South in Heaven just before His return to earth). At that time, every eye shall see Him, and the Saints- (in thier ressurrected, Glorified bodies).
At the Rapture, Christ will not be seen by all people, but only Believers, and it will be the "spirits" of dead Saints coming with Him, to be rejoined to thier bodies still dead in the ground. I Thess. 4:16-17- 16-"and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17- Then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
Notice the words- "clouds" and "air" and how used in that reference.
This happens when Christ and the spirits of dead Saints reach the clouds of the earths' firmament.
This will be the 1st ressurrection. The second one happens when Christ bodily returns to earth and those bodies of Saints who died during the Tribulation Period are raised and joined with thier spirits- (ressurrrected, Glorified bodies). Rev. 20:4-5.
The third and last ressurrection happens at the Great White Throne Judgement when all bodies saved and unsaved are ressurrected and perfected in order to live "eternally", regardless of thier final destination. (Eternal Death- seperation and torment in Lake of Fire forever or Eternal Life with God in a new Heaven on a new earth forever).
God Bless!!
