Stop Animal Cruelty

Let's pray to put an end to all the vicious beatings of all animals; those who could hurt a defenseless animal, could hurt a person. Animals are God's creatures too.

Lord, guard your helpless creatures, people and animals.

Defend them from evil and merciless people.

Turn the hearts of those who would harm them and fill them with compassion.

Force them to feel the suffering of their victims.

Show them the consequences of their violence, anger and cruelty.

Heal their hearts and help them forgive those who harmed them and wounded them to bring them to this place.

May healing and love and forgiveness and mercy flow.

In Jesus' Merciful Name, Amen.

Heavenly Father,

I stand in agreement with this prayer and also ask that you give strength, courage, patience and protection to those "in the trenches" on this issue: rescuers, law enforcement, animal shelter workers (paid and volunteer) as they try to help "the least of these."

Continue to raise up people who will minister to this part of Your creation. Nurture and guide them through this very tough, yet rewarding ministry. Let them feel Your presence during both the joys and sorrows that occur along this path. I thank You for my own ministry of running a pet foster home and being part of a veterinary disaster-response team.

Guide Christians to rescues and shelters to adopt Your animals. Show Your children how they can help animals and organizations who care for them. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus, You were born among animals, in a stable.

Please create a miracle to save all the animals that are being used for needless experiments in laboratories across the world.

Protect those that are being tortured, abused and summarily killed for no reason.

Speak out for them and defend them by the power in Your Name. Amen

Tomorrow is National Homeless Animals Day. It is held the third Saturday in August every year. Some communities have special events to mark the occasion. Please remember the animals in your prayers tomorrow. Thank you.
