In the Old Testament, the sacrifice, the smell of burning flesh was a "sweet aroma" to our Lord.

In the New Testament I believe the Lord is still pleaed with the smell of our burning "flesh".

We must die to ourselves daily, in order to live with Him!

Ah, I think your mistaking the aroma of the burning flesh of Old Test times of sacrificed animals. Never have I seen where God has had man sacrifice any of his own.

God may have asked Abraham to do this with Isaac, but in Truth, God did not figure Abraham would have to, but only demonstrate the level of faith Abraham had in God our Father.

God being pleased about this "smell", was because He knew people were doing this, following His Commandment of sacrifice for covering our sins to be able to be in His presence at a future time.

As far as this refered to in the New Test, the olny reference I recall, is the sacrifice that happens by the Jews at the end of the Trib. Period, as part of a cleansing process of that last Temple built, that the anti-christ defiles with his blasphemy against God.

Other than that, I believe I do recall an Old test reference made by the Apostles of the Lord being pleased of the aroma of burnt offerings of the past, suggestive of God being pleased at having sacrificed Christ as the ultimate payment for our sins, that His Children could be once again in His presence.

But you had stated " the Lord is still pleased with our burning flesh". Not "ours" my friend, as God showed wrath against those people who followed false gods and had thier children "pass thru the fire"- (be burned offerings).

And in Hebrews 6:4-6, notice, God told the old Hebrew Jews thru Paul, who were raised sacrificing animals, changing over to following Christ, then returning to sacrificing animals after Jesus ascended to Heaven, sacrificing was wrong and they could not be saved and reborn again, seeing they crucified to themselves, the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.

So God does not enjoy anymore, the smell of animal flesh sacrifices. Thats been left long behind and not needed since Jesus was sacrificed.

God Bless!!

killing your own flesh (spiritually speaking) is sweet aroma to God. Again, why do you always argue with me. don't you have something better to do?

Please forgive me for intruding on your question to CC because I don’t know him well enough to answer on his behalf…
Most reading your thread will understand what you are saying but I can see CC concern…because there are people who read these threads who come from different backgrounds…Some cultures teach self-mutilation as a way of pleasing God. Some people may not be as grounded in scripture and clarity is good.
Be at peace my brother…God Bless You and Anointed!!! Grace

I'm not arguing with you, but simply pointing out, God is against the "sweet aroma of burning flesh" in the New Test, as Christ was the ultimate sacrifice done only one time, for good.

The Heb. 6:4-6 example of Scripture should make that clear I would suspect. Therefore, what would you say then is biblically founded to be believed ?

I'm not here to hurt you or disgruntal you my friend, but do you not agree we need to be sure to stay Biblically grounded and accurate in our sharing of God's Word? You've seen where i've made mistakes too, I admit that. So what?

Look how many times Peter failed as a disciple and under Christ's teaching him as well and yet how bold and strong he was later after that. Don't take my posts as personal attacks against you, as they are not. As a Moderator, chosen by God thru Pastor, it is partly my responcibility to ensure solid biblical teachings are shared on annointed and you've seen me interject with others as I have with you, therefore, I'm not singling you out in any way.

I do sincerely pray tho, you will forgive me if have offended you. That was not my intention with this exchange.

Lord-

We pray you settle Bruces heart and mind about this situation. Help him to understand we are only trying to do as you guide us for whats best on this wonderful Prayer Board for you. That he nor anyone else is being singled out, but that we all need guidance and correction at times and we are to lovingly accept that from you. In Jesus Name- Amen!!

God Bless my friend!!
