Drinking?
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I grew up being taught that it is wrong to drink. People often refer to Jesus drinking wine in the Bible. When people say that the Bible doesn't speak against drinking, I'm unable to defend this position. any help or thoughts?

I found another thread discussing this but don't know how to remove this one. Thanks

When Satan designs and alcoholic beverage to enslave a people group, he always makes it out of the food source that they use to feed their children.
A few examples:
Beer Assorted bread grains
Vodka Grain Molasses
Gin Grains and Berries
Whiskey Corn, Rye, Grains
Sake Rice
Basically it comes down to, feed your family, or steal their food to make alcohol for your selfish self.
People are still falling for it.

if you go to that link, read Pastor Jerry's reaponces to drinking for Christians.
Bu do know, that in about 90% of the places where the word "wine" is used, it actually translated- "fruit of the vine". Otherwise, the ones refering to don't look upon it when its turning red, don't make your brother drunk, among others, God would not consider alcohol bad if didn't speak against it.
It was man, not God who used the word wine instead of "fruit of the vine".

Anything used in excess is bad for you including religion! Jesus first miracle was turning water into wine, not grape juice.
Alcohol was used ceremonial for drink offerings.
There are a lot of scriptures on both sides of this discussion. People will twist them any way they want to prove their point, either for or against drinking. This is a personal choice, as long as the person is of legal drinking age, and of course does not over indulge, or does not have a history of abuse or addiction.
In some cases it is not a good thing, but in other cases it is alright. Do not allow your decisions to cause your brother to stumble.
The Kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking.
Jesus was called a drunk and a glutton.
Do not worry about the speck in someone else's eye, when there might be a tree in your own!
All things are permissible, but may not be beneficial.
This is the same as eating meat or not. One person's faith may not allow them to, while someone else might feel ok about it. These are disputable matters, not to be argued over.

Now I will ask you my friend, to look at the reference I gave above and read Pastor's post on drinking, before you go any further on this subject. Keep in mind the variety of levels we have of Christians visiting here and the Truths of God we need to be clear on.
Also, you said anything used in excess is bad for us including religion- definition- "Specific belief in God, including a goup of doctrines concerning Him, and His relations to man and the universe...." "the Christian religion".
I pray for your soul my friend, your not refering to God's Word. After all, the Bible is considered a "religion"- (above), and God declares we are to read It, study It and learn It daily. I would ask you to be more careful of the ground you are treading my friend.
God Bless!!

I have read all of Pastor Jerry's studies on this subject. I acknowledge God's authority on His holy word. The religion that I am talking about is man's glorification of himself causing him to be puffed puffed up as described by the Apostle Paul.
When Christians think they know it all they become religious to the point of obnoxious.
I am not taking the bait on this one and I will not argue.
You are entitled to your own opinions.
God bless!

I don't know what is provoking you to respond as such, but again, I say, I'm not doing anything to try and offend or disgruntal you.
Can you not undertand your posts are not coming across with clear enough clarification sometimes, that what you say is sometimes questioned because of that?
I love you as a Brother in Christ, its satan convincing you I'm trying "to bait you", because I'm not.
I thank you for clarifying what you mean't and again ask forgiveness if I have offended you.
God Bless!!
