hey man.. whats up..

if you've read my "new member" thread which im guessing you did seeing as on how i've only wrote it about a minute ago, i mentioned having doubts about my religion and thats how i came to this site in the first place..

im not really asking you in particular, for i've visited many other sites and posted as well, and i am also asking anyone else that reads this...

in the words that i will say from here there is no need to offend ANYONE, and i am sorry if i do, forgive me please.

why christianity?
you, like me, grew up that way? you were raised to believe that God was the creater of the world so you stuck with it? what about the people in africa that have never heard of the bible before and grew up with people dancing around fires worshiping rocks? will they go to hell for they did not know him?

what other things has religion brought to the world besides jihad's and arguments? YES SIR most of the things in the bible and the things believed in 99% of the other religions propose proper civil and moral behaviors, such as loving your neigbor, not lieing, stealing, commiting adeltery, etc.
but can you do that without thinking the world was flooded for 40 days and nights?
FACT: Jesus walked this Earth.. died by the ROMANS (not jews) on the cross, alright.. jews believed he was a prophet (i believe?) and christians definately thought this guy was the one..

at least 40% of the bible has to do with how you interpret things, heres a old one my dad talked about with my brother when he wanted to get a tattoo.
Do not cut yourself in mourning for the ded, and to not mark yourself with ink, your body is a temple..
taken as by brother : dont get tattoos or cut yourself FOR THE DED
taken as by dad: dont cut yourself for the ded, and dont get tattoos..

creates quite a conflict?

Scribes that wrote the Torah in the old day (not sure if it is stil now) had to write it in certain, exact, ways. A letter added in the Torah? it was disqualified..
A letter deleted in the Torah? it was disqualified...

there are more..

what about the Bible? if most is on how you interpret things and there have been tons of different kinds of bibles written by different people, then how do we know how they have interpreted them from the original writings and how to take them now?
If someone dull re-wrote the bible "suffer not a witch to be" over the years could become "witches are everywhere, stay away from them" which is just outrageous and childish...

do demons get rewarded in hell when they do something bad, or punished like everyone else?

1 Kings Chapter 18, Mount Carmel, some christians favorite on the smack talk Elijah throws at all the prophets of Baal, in the end his boar, the stones, and the grass around the altar are all burned to smitherines even after being dowsed in water three times..
the 850 (?) people that were slaughtered in the Kishon Valley after that for not believing in God? OUTRAGEOUS, ORDERED BY THE PROPHET ELIJAH TO BE KILLED...

mythology... ares, zeus, hades, alllll that jazz... funny how people believed in a kid that shot arrows at you to make you fall in love hundreds of years ago..

in hundreds of years from now willl there be a kid my age on a forum saying

mythology... Jesus, Buddha, alll that jazz.. funny how people believed in a dude that walked on water and came back to life after three days..

MYTHOLOGY IS A CLASS IN MY HIGH SCHOOL, WILL THERE BE A CLASS IN A HUNDRED YEARS FROM NOW SAYING "Today we're gonna learn about how Jesus turned some water into some wine for people... open up your books to page 43, Section 7."

I know i may be bashing a lot of things.. but these are just questions that may be coming off in a bad way...
i know you're a pastor, and i like that... you're very mature in your spirituality and everything you know about the bible is in your head AND 8 inches south to your heart..

a lot of people cant do that 8 inches..

you're mature enough to realize taht im not a spawn of satan like a lot of jesus freaks think if they saw me saying this.. you'd think (or at least i hope dear God) man.. this kid needs help.. i should answer some of his questions and maybe there is hope in him..

im fourteen man... please email me at *******************
like many christians in my school dont think because i dont believe in christianity anymore im not still cool to talk with and discuss things with..

some of the things in here might be incorrect, and please tell me if they are.. but i do know a lot, and love debating and learning things.. so please email me..

cya man.. im gonna help some people out with other posts, i know htis place is "Say Hello to Jerry" but i'd sure like to give some inputs...

DecietfulConfusion-

Forgive my intrusion, as know you posted for Pastor to answer. But, thought I might share some insight on your questions that you might find some answers you can live with. Sound acceptable?

question 1- Why Christianity?

For me, when a mid aged teen, I wanted to commit suicide. I decided as bad as my life as, God was not real or His Word true. Yet, after two attempts that God prevented, He sent a man to talk to me one night. I'd proven to several God wasn't real, when tried to prove to me He was.

This man I could not prove that to. Rather, God, by the Holy Spirit, thru this man, proved to me enough, God was real, so I had to check things out. I did. As did, God gradually showed me more proof He was real and Word true, that I started sharing his Word myself, to help others.

After nearly 30 years now of Ministry at age 50, I've been saved and reborn for most of those years and can say, there is more proof, from God's word, to physical and literary evidence, to prove God is real, more than any unbeliever can show, God is not real.

point 2- Will those who've never heard the Gospel go to Hell. Yes. Why? Seems unfair. Ok, it may sound like that, but what about where God declares He is "all knowing", that because of that, He can set apart those He knows will accept Salvation, apart from the rest, knowing they will and do accept it at thier appointed times. As such, He then also knows, who will never accept it, or maybe for a time, then walk away from Him. Thus, this is not unfair, when realize God knows before hand who will and won't accept it.

point 3- Yes, Christian's have thier disagreements. But, God declares in His Word, even after becoming saved and reborn, we still battle our old nature- called- "carnal" now, as a Child of God. Thus, as we grow from milk drinkers into meat eaters of God, the Holy spirit helps us to change those sinful attitudes and break sinful bondages and influences over us. Its not an overnight thing.

As the Apostle Paul declares, even for as strong in God as he was, he still needed to work, to keep his mind and body under subjection, so as not to fall to sin.

Point 4- Yes I can think of that an not the flood. Why? Because, Man has not seen himself reach the same point as yet, he did back in Noah's Day in this time for man.

point 5- Yes, Jesus died by the "hands" of the Romans, but only because the Roman's turned Him back to the Jews to decide His fate. They cried out for crucifixtion. That is a Roman's, not a Jewish tradition, therefore, it was the Jews who actually rejected Christ as "God in the flesh" and Savior to be, for crucifixtion.

Note- Some Jews believed yes, He was a prophet. Others believed He was the Messiah, but rejected Him anyway, as they mistook Scriptures to believe Christ would be a great warrior and lead them to overthrow the Roman occupation of them, while still others did not believe He was anything at all, except a false prophet or other. Then those few, who believed He was the Messiah and did understand Scripture to know enough to follow Him.

point 6- Yes, the Lord warns us not to mark our bodies intentionally. Thats right, because our bodies are the Temple of God, we are to keep it spotless before the Lord, unmarked, undefiled, etc. No confusion there.

God declares we are to take His Word- "precept upon precept, line upon line". He repeats this, so we know to take all He speaks in His word, as literally written for what It means, unless He provides another meaning for It.

Nope, no conflict here.

Point 7- What about the writing of the Torah back then? They were Biblically correct, as God warns both in Deut. I believe, and in Revelation, if any word or words of this Prophecy are changed, there are judgements against those who do that. Dire ones.

Point 8- No, most is not in how we interprete God's Word, as God declares, even a "natural"- (unsaved man), can understand the literal mening of His Word, its the Spiritual understanding he cannot understand without the Holy Spirit to enlighten him for that.

Note- Yes, all these variety's of bibles makes no differences. So what if there are some discrepancies in all of them? Remember this fact, its been nearly 2,000 years since we- Gentiles, had gotten hold of God's "Torah" and learned how to translate it It into all types of languages. Do you not think, over time there would not eventully be some mistakes in It? Of course. Why? Falable man is reproducing the original, then copies of the original. So certainly there will be some mistakes.

Note 2- What has to be carefully done tho, is making sure we do not choose a particular- "new age" version, that does not teach God as a He, along with other clear discrepancies that are against God.

point 9- God shows how Satan and his followers- (fallen angels- Demons), when go to Hell, suffer torment the same as unsaved spirits of man. God declares, He originally created Hell for satan and his demons, but enlarged the boundaries to take lost souls of men after they fell from Grace with God.

point 10- What about the actions readin I Kings 18? Do you really think killing those prophets of Baal was so bad, when they had lead the Jews astray from God? Point well made for going against God I'd say, would you not also say that?

point 11- Yes there will be in the future. As Satan, still to this day, even tho he knows he has no chance, will keep trying, till God's appointed Judgement Day, to try and dethrone God, thru taking praise and worship from Him.

point 12- No my friend, you are not bashing, for you are confused as you'd stated and are seeking answers. I can only pray, you will recieve that which God may be trying to share with you here.

And I'm not Pastor Jerry, but was called at age 25 by God as a Pastor as well, of which I've been in Ministy all these years for God.

point 13- Well, maybe its the witness of Satan or his Demons that turns them off from wanting to associate with you.

You come across as a bright enough young man, I was just wondering, what actually happened, that was so bad, you would want to turn away from God? And what you would say to God, if were to die today and come before Him and He'd ask you why He should let you into Heaven?

I hope you won't mind if I add a prayer onto this because I care about you and ant to see God's best for you happen for you.

Lord-

I lift up this young person to you, that you would touch his heart with healing and help them to know you more closely and intamitely. I ask Jesus, you would show them your love and compassion for them and bring your children around them to show and share your witness to them, that they could feel the love and caring you have in your Heart for all people. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen!!

Jerry was not raised in the faith, so that is not why he believes it (at least, I don't think he was). I would love to see what he replies to you, as to why he believes it. As one reared in the faith, I sometimes think that is why I believe it (though I know I really believe it because I've found it to be true).

Sorry about removing the email, but for the protection of those who post here, we ask that they not be given out.
