Prayer for Israel

Do you all think it is right to pray for Israel?

While I agree that we have to pray for our enemies, do you think it is right to pray for a country whose inhabitants killed our Lord?

The way I see it, Israel is a concept of God's country - its a country filled with people who love God, not necessarily the geographic location Israel.

Maybe I am just confused but I would like clarifications in this matter.

The reason why I asked this is because you all have one full forum devoted to Israel - i mean, is it right to pray for people who have caused soo much trouble in this world? Why not create another forum room for say the Taliban?

PraisebetoGod-

Of course it is. Why should we not pray for them? After all, God had chosen Jews as Hs "Fig Tree", (First Chosen), and has kept them in that position ever since.

Yes, while God Prophecied His own people would cry out for Jesus' crucifixtion, remember, it wasn't just Jews alone, but plenty of "pagan"- Gentile people who saught the same.

Also, keep in mind, after the crucifixtion, God grafted the "Branch" of Gentiles into the fold of believers Acts 10:9-36. How are we to think any less of God's "First chosen" for seeking death for Christ, when many of our own did so too? And yet, God loved all people enough to open Salvation to everyone willing to seek It earnestly.

Isreal is not just a country, but a race of people, God's "First Chosen" people. It is not a "concept", but a reality. And by the way, the Jews did not kill Jesus. Pagans did- the Roman's. Crucifixtion is an old "Roman Tradition" not Jewish. The Jews cried out for it, but the Roman's found no fault with Christ.

Pontious Pilate therefore called the Jews into an open court area and offered them a choice of one of two prisoners to be relaeased. Barabus, well known as a thief and more, or Jesus, with no proven accusations against Him, but being the Messiah. Matt.27:11-24, Mk. 15:1-15, LK. 23:1-25.

As to your last statement about- "is it right to pray for people who have caused so much trouble in this world?" Please explain, as this makes no sense at all. Where are there any reports, news of any kind or other, that claims Isreal- "Jews" have caused so much trouble around the world?

All I've ever noticed is, Satan, working thru other Countries and false Leaders over the ages, having tried to destroy the Jews, without success. Jews never brought this on themselves against other people, but only against God.. But God Prophecied thru out His Word, how Isreal- "Jews", His "First Chosen", will always be a focal point of torment, threats and much more by the hand of Gentile nations and Leaders. This is because Satan hates God's dearly loved, "First Chosen".

I pray this helps-

God Bless!!

Hello Christian Commando

Thanks for the nice reply.

Now if the Jews are the 'First chosen', does that mean they can attain eternal salvation even if they dont believe in Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ himself said that you can attain salvation only through HIM.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

“Neither is there salvation in any other (except Jesus): for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:10, 12

So if the Jews are God's First Chosen, it means that they should also get eternal salvation. So do you think Jews can get eternal salvation?

Now if your answer is yes, could you tell me how? However if your answer is no, why do we have to support them?

Now for starters, the creation of the country Israel was not exactly done in a manner worthy of God's First chosen, was it. IF you consider how land was taken away by people who had been inhabiting it for 150 years – do you think it is right?

Do you think that we should pray for the very people who oppose the usage of ‘Merry Christmas’ during the most Holy period of the year for us Christians? ( we therefore have ‘Happy Holidays’)

PraisebetoGod-

Your most welcome.

1st question- No. You'll find, in the beginning, when God first chose Jews as His most beloved people, the nation was small, yet all Jews at that time, did follow God. Sure, some decided not to, but, as God shows, those who do not follow His leadership and commandments, were outcasts, rejected.

All Jews who followed God since being chosen, belong to Him, if doing the sacrifices, following the ceremonial Laws and "Moral Laws" God set up for them. God will chastise those who belong to him, but is thier choice wether to turn back to God or not. If not, they are released to Satan. (Read story of King Saul- Old Test to see what happens in this situation).

question 2- What happened with Cain and Abel, after God made the first animal sacrifices for Adam and Eve? Abel brought a "firstling lamb" for sacrifice, Cain brought the first of his harvest. God looked with favor upon Abel, but rejected Cain's offering. Why? He offered grain, not a "lamb" for sacrifice.

Thus, thru the Old Test, those Jews who sacrificed correctly to God, were His Children. And, the male children and adults, recieved the "circumcision" as an outward sign of thier faith and belief in God.

In the New Test. Christ tells us- "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved." Jesus came to save the world and fulfill the "Law", thus, Jews who do believe since Old Test times and fulfill God's requirements for Salvation, form old times to now, yes, do recieve eternal life.

Question 3- Well, if consider the "creation of it, why? God started the race of "Jews", thru Shem, one of the 3 boys and thier wives of Noah, after the flood. Gen. 11:27. Where Abram was born. From there, the Jews grew into a nation, from the seed of Abram, prophesied by God- 15:4-13.

Now, to understand why God would rob other "pagan" people of thier land, lets jump to Numb. 13:21-33. Notice when the spies went in, they saw huge people, which they reported back as they looked like grasshoppers in thier sight.

Note- The word- "giants" used there, is the same word used in Gen. 6:4. That word, translates from a Hebrew word - "Nephilium". That word, comes from the root word- "Nephal", which means, fallen Angels, the devil, Satan, demons, demonic spirits, etc.

Because the "son's of God"- in Noah's day, were Angelic beings- (see Job 1:6, 2:1, 38:7, plus others there), who lusted after earthly women, married them and sired children by that union Gen. 6:1-4, the offspring then, are those "giants" living in Canaan. (Anak's sons).

Thus, why then, is there any reason God would be held back, from taking land, possessed and controlled by demonic offspring?

Question 4- ok, so what if they reject our celebrating "Christmas"? Probably, like many other Christians, they reject this because its celebrated at the wrong time of the year. But, we should first check out what our seasonal time table is to Isreal's, and besides, "Christmas" is a clebrating of Christ's birth. A ceremonial "Law" we do for rememberance of Him.

You must remember as well, there are as many different religious "sect" Jews, as there are Christian religions. Therefore, there will be variances in thier beliefs, just as is with ours here. So what? so long as they believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and have been thru the process to recieve Salvation as is taught in that doctrine, those are believers.

But remember as well, there are thousands of people claiming to be "Christian's" here, that if asked about it, they do not know or understand the Gospel message, therefore, they are not saved and reborn ether. So, how can we sit back and judge others, if we ourselves deal with similar dilemas as such?

I pray this helps.

God Bless!!
