Creation
In the darkness the Light spoke the world into existance
He made the wind and the trees with their bountiful leaves
Made the beautiful flowers with fragrance so rare
He took such care
Formed the mountains and rivers
The valleys and birds
The reptiles, elephants and buffalo herds
But His greatest accomplishment was molding a man out of clay,
And breathing life into him
Then, taking a rib to create a wife
They lived in harmony, knowing no strife
'Til a serpent beguiled the woman with lies
And she ate forbidden fruit
Her husband partook of it willingly
And this began centuries of hardship and pain
As they were removed from the garden of delight
Disobedience wrought them sorrows and tears
For many years, but God had a plan
To redeem man
From the Darkness they now knew
The Son would become a man, laying aside His glory and riches
Splendor and majesty, so He could become
The supreme sacrifice, shedding His blood
Because of mercy and love
To bring mankind back to a relationship once again with the Light
