Heavenly Father,

I lift my daughter, Hannah, up to You in prayer.

When I came home yesterday, she had been crying. She said that her best friend is being told that nobody wants to hang around with her because she's starting to act like my daughter!

Best Friend was in a rocky, year-long relationship with a boy. They broke up and reconciled several times. The most recent breakup was because the boy was becoming verbally abusive. When Best Friend tried to talk to him and straighten out the troubles between them, Ex-Boyfriend called her "psychotic" and threatened to call the cops. I told my daughter that I hope Best Friend will stay away from him, because she doesn't need him to make good on the threat and gain a criminal record.

Hannah has been very supportive to Best Friend, telling her to give it to God and that she deserves so much better than being verbally abused and threatened.

Hannah used to date Ex-Boyfriend's brother, and broke it off when she got tired of being lied to.

Ex-Boyfriend is blaming the breakup on Hannah. He doesn't see his part in it. He's been telling people that Hannah is to blame because his ex doesn't want to go back for more abuse or be arrested. Of course, he doesn't see it that way either. He just sees that this girl who used to do everything he wanted, including taking abuse, won't do it anymore. Best Friend never felt supported in making such a decision before she met Hannah.

Hannah feels that she's causing Best Friend to lose other friends and that Best Friend is being forced to choose between Hannah and the rest of her buddies. So far, Best Friend is choosing Hannah.

Lord, I stand on Your word in Matthew 10--that which is covered shall soon be uncovered--asking for You to reveal the full truth of this situation. Separate the lies from the truth, as chaff from wheat. Reveal the truth in such a way that nobody can deny it! Remove the scales from the eyes of those blinded by lies. May the Holy Spirit speak to the listeners' hearts every time lies about Hannah and her Best Friend are spoken. Make the listeners repulsed by the lies. Grant anyone who hears these false words the clarity of vision to see them for what they are.

I thank You for providing these two girls with a good church family and youth program. Help them to lean on You and these godly people in this time of trouble. May the truth be revealed and peace for both girls soon follow. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Lord, I pray for wisdom for Best Friend to keep on choosing wisely. I pray she stays away from the ex and is a good friend to Hannah. Encourage Hannah that what she is doing is right. I pray for the opening of the eyes of the other "friends." Let them know that Best Friend did right. I ask for the salvation of all and a love for Jesus Christ that is strong. May they all love and choose You more than relationships. May they put You first always in ALL things. Do a mighty work of redemption and deliverance in every life involved here. Don't let Hannah or Best Friend back down or sell out. Keep them strong! I pray, in Jesus Name, amen.

Heavenly Father,

Please continue to help Hannah and Best Friend stand strong against those who speak ill of them. Make the lies and hate being spread by the ex-boyfriends stop. Lord, make their false words repulsive to the ears of anyone hearing. Rebuke these boys and bring them to repentance for their misdeeds! Bless these girls with godly friends who can separate the chaff of lies from the wheat of truth. Reveal the speech of these boys for what it is: Anger that the girls won't allow their mistreatment and that they are lashing out because both girls dumped them.

Thank You for blessing these girls with a good church and youth group. I pray that they can do more socializing within that group of Christian kids and that the angry ex-boyfriends will quietly fade away. Keep them strong in the face of the current storm. Let them feel You there as they go about their day. I claim victory over these lies and hatred in Jesus' name. Amen.
