Haven't paid house payment, electricity, water....

My husband lost his job. He got another one, but he is now only making $300 dollars a week, which is less than he used to make. He won't be paid until Friday, and that will only be a small fraction of what we owe. We have not paid our October house payment, car payment, truck payment, electric bill, water bill, phone bill, or anything at all, because we have been only buying food and gas for him to get to work. The car and the truck that we owe on both died a while back, so we can't even sell them. We have been painting and cleaning our house frantically, because we are going to have to sell our house, but it's not nearly ready yet. We do not mind selling the house, because we really need to move to a different town to save on gas. Our phone is off, but right now, the electricity and water are still on, and we are not yet 30 days late with the house, car, and truck payments. We need divine intervention SOON! If we do not find a way to make several thousand dollars quickly, it is possible that we will lose everything we have worked years for. We need to SELL this house, rather than have it repossessed. We've put a lot of work and money into it, and we still owe $30,000 on it. We have two small children. We've been eating a LOT of beans... We've almost been through all of the canned food that has been sitting in our cabinets for months. I AM aware that there are places we can get a box of food, and a little help with things, but we're in a pretty big hole, and right now, I think only a lot of prayer will get us past this. If we can sell this house soon, and for a good price, that would help a lot. If we could sell it for at least $60,000 we could pay off the house, car, and truck debt, and move somewhere closer to my husbands job and my kids school... with a lot less debt. But the housing market, and the job market where we are has been declining lately. It's hard times for a lot of people. Please pray for us. Thank you.

Call your creditors immediately and let them know what's going on. The house usually won't go into foreclosure until you are 6 months late.
Can you refinance the house for what you owe? Some places will refinance your mortgage with no points or closing costs and no out-of-pocket fees (Dave Ramsey.com can offer Christian Endorsed Local Providers who can help)
Breathe deep and don't panic.
Father God,
You know this family's struggles and needs. Please provide for all of their needs and please bless them in abundance. Please help this father to find steady employment. Please bring understanding and patience to this situation. Please open a door for them that will bring opportunities not yet even thought of. You are the Great Provider and the Great Counselor. Thank You, Lord. In Your Name I Pray. Amen.

Building on what Sharyn shared. Also check into the gov't agencies in your city. We have a CAC, which helps people facing termination on their ultilities, so check into that as well. Social Sevices may be able to provide you a list of resouces as well. Food banks and churches can provide food.
Father, this is a very serious situation and I pray knowing that Your hand is mighty and involved in all of this. So, I lift my voice in praise knowing that breakthroughs are coming. Father, I thank You for all needs met and satisifed. Give this family peace in this and favor with their creditors. Move mightily. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen

Thanks for your prayers. And your messages make me feel better. I'm beginning to become depressed. All week, I painted my house and worked on my yard to try to get it ready to sell. It's not all done, but today I just felt defeated, and did nothing. I think I'm doing the best I can. Do you think God wants me to lose everything for some reason?

You're not losing everything...you still have you're family. You guys are still together, that is a blessing. I believe God has something much better for you guys...anything can change at anytime!

I know how you feel. I am going through the same thing and I live in a totally different country as you. My house payments are also late. My water and electricity is not paid and I cannot pay for gas. I will think of you and keep you in my personal prayers.
Father God I pray that you provide for this family divine intervention. I ask that You meet every need with an abundance that will exceed their expectations. I ask that Your Name be Glorified through this. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

Father God, show this family the direction to go in to get the necessary help that they need for their homes and for themselves dear Lord. Anoint their footsteps, anoint their ears that they shall hear YOUR voice dear Lord when YOU shall speak to their hearts dear Lord. Father God, YOU know the ins and outs of this situation more than anyone else does. Call your utility companies and explain that you have 2 small children. Sometimes they will have empathy. It's worth a try.
Father God,
Please intervene one behalf of Jessica and her family. Lord, You can make a way when there is no way. Through You we can do all things. Without You we can do nothing. Lord, please help the utility companies to have compassion for our sister and her family. Please make a way for the basic utilities to be kept on. Please open doors for a repayment plan and for a budget to be set up. Lord, please send an angel to watch over them and to direct them to the appropriate services and resources. Thank You, Lord. Thanks for all of your prayer and encouraging words. So far.. no water. We went to The Good Samaritan... but the guy there told me that they require that you request help BEFORE your water gets turned off.
Also, our business failed, bit the dust. My brother in law was working for us... He has a new job now, and so does my husband, but my husband owes my brother in law money from the last job they had. The woman didn't like the work, and didn't pay them, but my husband still has to pay my brother in law. It is going to cause family problems if he can't, and right now, he is not making nearly enough money. I'm really concerned about that.
And I don't want our car repossessed...
Please pray for us. Thank you.

Pay the brother. He worked and earned his money. The fact that the customer didn't like the work isn't the fault of your husband or his brother; not paying him what he is due will cause a rift in the family. Work out a repayment schedule so that you will not have that hanging over you and then pay him what you can in a timely manner.
I know you don't want the car repossessed, but if the car payments are more than 5 to 10% of your husband's take home pay, then it's time to divorce yourself from this budget-busting vehicle and start driving an affordable "hooptie" (my husband has been driving a hooptie for about 2 years now- he paid $600 for it and it gets about 38 miles per gallon, we live a half-hour's drive from his work).
You may be able to get a free car by going on FreeCyle dot org. It is a site where people in your area have stuff they don't want, but don't have time or patience for a yard sale.

The Salvation Army is going to pay our electric bill today. Thank God. And thank you all for praying.
The water is still off.. but it rained today, so I was able to collect enough water in buckets to FLUSH THE TOILET!
We just really need to sell this house for as much as it can possibly bring, and soon. That would solve all of our FINANCIAL problems in a hurry, so we could concentrate on other things. And there are so much more important things to concentrate on.

Father God, shine Your light in this situation. Father, thank You for the Salvation Army paying this electric bill. Father, I pray for kindness and favor with the water company to get this water restored for this family. Father, move mightily. I pray for finances, peace and comfort during this time of uncertainty. Father, this situation is so dire; but I know that all things are possible with You. Thank You, Jesus, for the paying of the electric bill. Thank You for the rain, much-needed in this drought. Lord, I ask for a pouring out of Your blessings. Lord, You know the best course for this family. I ask that they hear Your voice calling out to them as to which direction to take. I appreciate the prayer of everyone who has and is praying for us.
Our water is still off. Our electricity is still on. We have a realtor coming to get our house listed Saturday, so we can hopefully sell it. If we can sell it for a profit, it will help us a great deal. It would also help us if we were able to move to the town we want to move to. My husband is spening about half of his check on gas to get to work and back, and eat while he's there.
I'm feeling kind of tired and defeated. I need some energy and hope.
Also, we found two starving puppies, and brought them home to take care of them. They were about to die, and I think they've pulled through the worst of it, but they could use some prayer too. I don't think we're going to be able to take care of them unless our situation improves greatly and quickly (which would be really good...) so please pray that we find the best possible situation for the puppies.
