recurrent nightmares

The other night i had a dream that i was in my bed sleeping when someone/something entered the room and threw a very heavy blanket or something over top of me. i tried to get out from under it but something was holding me down and i could not get out. i felt like i was suffocating and going to die, i was calling out to God to help me but i had no voice and i was totally paralyzed. Then i woke up in a cold sweat. This is not the first time I've had this dream. Lately I have been having quite a few nightmares, but this one stands out in my mind since it is recurrent. Any insight would be appreciated.

The fact you wee asleep in your bed and this happened to really frighten you and restrict you, tells me, as you grow in God and gain faith and strength in God, Satan will work harder to try and tear down your testimony of God.

These times will happen I suggest by supprise, since you are at rest and this happens out of the blue. The fact its a reoccurring dream, can mean it will possibly be cofirmed of one focal major event, or possibly several over time as you grow stronger in God. (the several reoccurring ones I had were of both kinds, one single event, while another was several over time).

The fact you could not speak could be from the supprise of Satan's attack being so quick and fierce, or God allowing for His timing to deliver you thru this for teaching you.

The fact you woke up at the last moment when you thought the worst, proves God will deliver you. This suggests the thought it may be for convicting you to a greater level of faith and belief in God's omnicient ability and love for us.

I would suggest, overall, your faith and belief in God will be considerably stretched and strengthened thru some very trying event that wll happen and He is giving you warning of this impending trial to come. He does this quite often, to afirm to His Children, He will never leave us or forsake us. Thus, we can be more prepared for what is to come knowing He'll be there with us taking us thru it.

Thank you CC for your insights regarding my nightmare. I have been having nightmares a lot lately but sometimes can only recall small parts of them, however there is always an evil presence in these dreams which i remember upon awakening. I believe you are correct that satan is working hard to destroy my testimony of God. my family and i have been going through a very dark time and i have felt like i am in a spiritual desert and unable to hear from God or feel His presence anymore. also my son is dealing with some very difficult issues and i feel so helpless and dont know how to help him. seems like the harder i pray the worse things get. I have much heaviness in my spirit. I pray a breakthrough comes soon!

(threw a very heavy blanket or something over top of me.) THIS TO ME SIGNALS THAT SOMEONE WANTS TO KEEP YOU UNDER WRAPS, EITHER IN A PROTECTION SENSE OR IN A SENSE WHERE YOU CAN'T SAVE YOURSELF YOUR WILL BE HELPLESS TO YOU OR ANYONE ELSE AROUND YOU.

THIS TOO IS SAYING THAT YOU NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION IS YOU ARE CALLING OUT TO GOD FOR HELP -- TO ASSIST YOU IN WHAT EVER SITUATION YOU ARE IN, AND EVIL THAT IS KEEPING YOU 'UNDER' DON'T WANT WHAT YOU TO CALL OUT, AND BECAUSE OF YOU NOT BEING ABLE TO VERBALLY CALL ON HIM, YOU BECAME PARALYZED WITH FEAR. EVEN THOUGH YOU WASN'T ABLE TO CALL ON GOD OUR FATHER VERBALLY YOU YELLED FOR HIM MENTALLY, AND EMOTIONALLY AND YOU WOKE UP AND TO ME THAT IS SAYING EVEN IF YOU FEEL YOU ARE TRAPPED AND DON'T HAVE A VOICE PER SAY, HE STILL HEARD YOU AND GOT YOU OUT OF THAT SITUATION. SOMETIMES I FEEL THAT PEOPLE FEEL IF GOD DON'T HEAR YOU VERBALLY HE WON'T COME. HE KNOWS WHAT YOUR HEART IS SAYING AND HE IS LISTENING TO YOUR HEART AND TO YOUR MIND. YOU WANTED OUT OF THAT SCARY SITUATION OF NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE ABOUT AND TO VERBALLY USE YOUR VOICE, BUT HE HEARD YOUR INNER VOICE CRYING OUT TO HIM. HOW GREAT IS THAT!!! BE BLESS.

The very heavy blanket thrown over you is mean't as a restriction, as God shows, by the evil that holds you down afterwards. This shows it will be an attack of Satan. The blamket also signifies it will be most likely a drawn out attack.

The evil presence you always feel in these dreams signifies the fact it is attacks from Satan or his Demons. And Satan always works to try and ruin any of God's Children's testimonies. Particularly those of which God has a chosen time, where it can profoundly effect the hearts of others at some point.

Well, going thru this "dark time" and being in this " spiritual desert" is a clear sign, God is allowing for your faith and belief to be stretched to higher, stronger levels, if you will hold out thru it. No, He is still there, even when can't feel His presence.

yes, I'm sorry to say, this will happen at times, where Satan turns up the heat, for the more we pray or harder we do so. The fact Satan can feel the tension you and your family are experiencing, makes him attack harder, particularly when some of you get down to more fervant prayer, in order to break down your will in holding to God's guidance for such times to make it thru.

Well, it may be your son will be a weak point for Satan to get leverage over the rest of you in breaking down your faith or belief in God.

What I suggest is, getting your family together each evening for a time of going thru God's Word, to cover Scriptures that speak of being overcomers thru Christ, by His Blood, by His stripes, and those about His strength for us, when we are weak and the Promises of deliverance, protection from attacks and more.

The more of your family being of "one accord" in faith and belief of God's Word for such, the stronger you'll all be and the quicker this trial will be over. Plus, God Promises to Bless those who hold out thru trials and temptations.
