It seems that when I pray for someone or something that my prayers have the opposite effect. It has come to the point where I avoid praying because I can almost guarantee a negative outcome. I really would like to pray for many people and many things that God would approve but my track record is abysmal; if I did not know better I would think that God is spiteful. I feel cut off but I am afraid to pray for fear of causing great harm to others.

Lord, teach Your child how to pray! I used to feel like he did, but I kept perservering. . . .You taught me more and more. And, of course, the devil throws up smoke screens, trying to make it look like God isn't answering. But You also don't answer according to our way, time or plans. Teach crazyjoecus Your ways in regards to prayer. I pray they will not give up. I pray wherever the devil is lying, You will show that to them. And where they need to learn to be more effective, show that to them. I ask and pray, in Jesus Name, amen.

Joseph I felt this way at one time in my life! I said an especially hard, heart felt prayer for my sister once and within days she was in emergency surgery. She had 4 surgeries and prolonged pain and suffering. But that experience changed her and my relationship for the better. You can trust the Lord! I am learning through the years to "lean not unto my own understanding" as is says in the scriptures. We have such a short sighted perspective. Remember the adversary is the one who tries to teach us not to pray. Why would he fear our prayers so? He should be perfectly happy having you pray for others if that somehow is making things worse. Yet he tells you not to do so and tries to keep you afraid and down. Why? Because he knows of the great potential you have through the power and channel of prayer. Don't try to interpret everything that is happening in everyone's life as coming from God. We are in the world and there are natural laws working in people's lives. People have their agency and right to choose. There is also the adversary trying steadily to disrupt the Father's work amongst His children here on the earth. Also, often the closer you get to the Lord, the greater the opposition. You really need Him on your side. The adversary is always trying to cloud our judgement and our views to keep us from God.
'Joseph pray for the power of discernment. We all get confused and need the Lord to help us to sort things out in our minds. He will give you inspiration and personal revelation on a daily basis if you ask for it. The adversary will always try to intercept. Keep praying until the darkness disperses and never give that up. Satan would have you left to your own weakness, thoughts and power.
Also, stay out of Satan's territory! He has tremendous power, but only that which we give him over us. When we call on the Lord, His power is always greater. Never stop praying or decide that is not an option.
