Does satan hear our prayers, too?

Before y'all start thinking I've headed over to the wrong side, I haven't.
I have mulled this over and over and wanted to roll it by you to see how you felt about it.
Suppose you have prayed for something whether it be for something to happen, for favor in a situation or whatever. You ask for guidance and discernment. Things appear to be lining up and you are thankful to the Lord for it. But then you cannot get peace no matter how much you pray. Your prayer is answered and then you realize that things are very very wrong.
Have you been deceived by the enemy that things are working out to your favor?
I'm not doubting my faith. I was just wondering. I see things that people say they have prayed about, but then things that supposedly were answers to their prayers are things that are immoral, dishonest, and not right (ie: praying for a certain relationship to happen and then it does, only to learn that the relationship is an adulterous one). So was the prayer answered by God or did the enemy interfere and disillusion the person to believe that this activity was a blessing from God, when in actuality it was a curse from the enemy? God does not tempt us, satan does. So does the enemy speak to us and deceive us into thinking we are following God's will?

Who are psychics and clairvouyants? They are members of a group that have "connections with familiar- (demonic) spirits." As such, what do psychics hear? Some recieve visions like God gives his children. Some have dreams like God's children. some hear voices speaking to them like God's children.
Satan is the great imitator of God. Can he hear our requests? Yes. Why? If Satan and his demons can talk to us thru what is known as "telepathy", (mind to mind), why can they not hear our prayers, spoken or silently spoke? They can.
As you mentioned, the "fruit" of what is spoken to us for thoughts, are the evidence of the "root" of who spoke it to us, God or Satan. Thing is, God gave man His Word, to read and learn It, that we might show ourselves approved in rightly dividing Truth.
When thoughts come, if wonder who is the author of it, we can go to God's Word to see if falls inline with It or not for discerning the "root" of where it came from.
Yes, the enemy clearly will speak to us to decieve us if possile. Thats why when an event happens where we must make a choice, we can hear, or thoughts will come to us of different ways we can choose. The good will be from God, the bad from Satan.
In some cases, its another person brought in to decieve us. As with married couples with marital probs. A husband or wife can think another person of the opposite gender who shows interest in them was sent by God and they need to divorce thier present mate and marry this other person.
The "fruit" is always clear who is behind the thoughts chosen to be followed. 3 of 4 couples I dealt with would not listen and the mate that divorced for another person were cursed by it over time. The 3rd lives alone and afraid anyone who comes on "her" land is out to get her or take stuff from her. The 4th moved out of the area, no info on that one.
An answer to prayer should always be checked to Scripture if inline with God or not- Phillipians 4:8-
"Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
By that, we can tell if what we percieve as an answer or question if an answer to prayer, is manifested of God or Satan. "If there be any virtue, if there be any praise- (to God), think on these things."
God Bless!!

Thank you! You hit the nail squarely on the head in terms of the spouse divorcing due to "an answer from God".
Blessings are clearly from God. The enemy can use "coincidences" as a deception to believers to think it is of God, when it is satan tempting us to jump the gun and not wait on the Lord.

I didn't want people to think I was doubting God or not believing in prayer. I had this going around in my thoughts and wondered,"Could our prayers also be heard by the enemy and then twisted and used to deceive us?"
There is truth in the Disney movie "The Little Mermaid". Ariel, the Mermaid wants something that she should not have (the ability to be human). Her father would forbid it. The sea witch (Ursula) hears her pleas which were made in private, then tempted her and made her an offer. Ariel makes a deal with the sea witch, which is impossible for her to uphold since the sea witch is controlling the events and outcome.
Then through some supernatural turn of events, good conquers evil. ( In the original story, the mermaid dies, but this is Disney. I think the original story has a more moral concreting effect, but little girls would be traumatized)

Personally, I never thought you were, just basically, like the rest of us, seeking answers to questions is all.
Well, I wouldn't be so sure about little children being traumatized by the original version.
Years ago, as a teen, I used to babysit kids of all ages to babies even. Sometimes, when we'd watch a movie, when scenes would show death or dieing, sometimes other violence, I would stop the movie right after those points and talk to them about what they had just seen. I did it, as would hear gasps and other supprised sounds from them.
So, thought it best to help them understand some things will happen in our lives that they need to understand at least from a child's point of view.
Now, it seems I'm very old or ancient to the kids hehe, but at least my past kids still call me old man or Dad when come to visit and some of thier children call me Gramps hehe.
But, children need to learn some of this stuff early on, at a level they can understand, when are surrounded by so much of this kind of thing daily. As such, each child needs to be dealt with individually for how they are taking things as they witness them.
God bless!!

first question: Blessings are from God? Don't you think the devil can bless someone as well? Look at all the lives ruined by lottery winnings, for example.
Second: the devil hears all our spoken prayers, that is why he is called "prince of the air" Ephesians 2:2 (New American Standard Bible)
in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

In the past we went through a very freaky time in this family, with a "friend" (NOT!) who was lying about people in leadership -- saying they were evil, practicing withcraft, the occult, etc. Turns out she is a LIAR, and we were told don't believe one word she says. The thing is, while all these words about good, Godly people were going forth (mostly from her), my niece and I were seeing confirming visions. So, I know the devil sends visions as well. We had visions of them doing this stuff. . . .and the visions went right with the words. So we were eating right out of her hand believing all of it. If he can make us see false stuff, I am sure he can make it seem as though our prayers are being answered, when they aren't...as in sending stuff that seems to be lining up, when really it is against God's best for us.
When we moved in the last house, my point to all was that I didn't want to go into debt to move there. We borrowed money from my parents for the first months rent and the deposit. I was frustrated because they went ahead with it. (They still haven't finished paying my parents off, as far as I know.) They thought they saw all the signs from God, but, in reality, that entire experience of living there was not a good one. I had tried to tell them, and I felt STRONGLY against moving there....so I believe they were lied to in that case. Or, probably what happened (like some of these people wanting these un-Godly relationships) they wanted it so bad, they were just determined to have it. And it all seemed to be working out. But debt is a lie of the devil....so they never should have went for it.
On the other hand, how did I hear God so plainly the in the second instance but listen to the devil so much in the first?
This girl had a Jezebel spirit for sure, and maybe when you fall in "cahoots" with her or let her lay hands on you and the like something transfers. She seemed to have such a strong influence (and the devil through her) over my niece and I. The first night, I sensed something was wrong in what my niece and her were doing, then these "words from The Lord" started coming, and she told us not to tell anyone, like we were this elite bunch. . . .so we shut it up, and we started believing it was true. I think the Jezebel spirit tries to make you feel powerful, like you have some inside info that no-one else has and you are going to stomp the devil out of people's lives....at least that's how I felt. I felt like I was finally coming into my call and purpose in life (to get demons out of people's lives). I thought I had this huge ministry and this was the beginning. The Jezebel spirit was telling me about the great call I had on my life, while the girl with the spirit would go on about the great call on her own life, when her life manifested NONE of the fruits of the Spirit. . . .
Okay, not sure why I told you all that.
Anyway, I still have trouble putting that whole time in perspective, as to what it was for, why I went through it, how I was so deceived. The devil might hear our prayers, but I seemed to be listening to his at that time....or his wishes, if he has no prayers.
In the recent vision I had, it seems similar to something I would have seen at that time, so maybe the devil is showing me what he wants for that person or just trying to make me doubt the good vision.
I do feel the devil hears our prayers, and he does all he can to mess up the situaiton, so we think that God is not for us and start doubting God's goodness.

I guess my follow up question is: How do we know when it's the devil lining up a trap, when it appears to be God talking to us?
In the first story, I really thought we were doing a good thing praying demons off people, praying people out of the occult and so on. A Godly thing to do, right? Only, these were lies! And we were praying demons off innocent people, when it turns out SHE (who told us these "words") had the demons!
In the second story, my sister needed a better house to live in, and she found one never lived in for low rent. It had some great features. When she called my parents, they were willing to help out. Etc. It all seemed to be lining up. I told her recently I never really liked living there, and she said not to even go there. So, obviously, in hind sight, she saw it was not God telling us to move there.
But how would I have known in the first instance, and she in the second, that we were not in God's will?
Was it because I wanted to be in "huge" ministry so bad and she wanted a better house and to live with me and her older daughter so bad? Did the devil prey on our human nature of what he knew we wanted? Or did our human natures lead us down these paths?
What could we have done to test the spirits as we went, to double check and make sure?
I had felt something was wrong at first, but why did I end up believing it so easily and quickly the same night? Why did I so quickly leave that inner witness of the Spirit that they were out of God's plan in the way they were praying? But in the second story, all I had to go on was inner witness, when everything about the house seemed to be lining up so perfectly. I just KNEW it was wrong. Yet, in the first story, the lies seemed SO RIGHT. It was actually my sister who helped crack that case. So, how'd she hear from God that time and I hear from God the second time? Etc.
Well, any help on this would be appreciated.

First thing you ask yourself, am I praying according to the Spirit or my own flesh? When you come into agreement with someone in the flesh according to the flesh you have entered into a soul tie. Scripture tells us that the soul is at eminty with the Lord. Soul ties then need to be broken-thru repentence.
Like Jerirose, they listened to someone, came into agreement and a soul tie was formed and nothing good came of it, but people were hurt needlessly.
When Jerirose had no peace about the move and borrowing money, that was the Holy Spirit trying to get her attention.
Much is soulish prayer and God will give you over to your soulish prayer, because you won't listen to the Holy Spirit. My good friend who also is a pastor had desired certain gifts and every prophecy she received confirmed that yes you will walk majestically and do great and mighty things (sound familiar?). What she learned that she had been walking according to the flesh in her desire and until she understood that she was given was what she wanted to hear, when she spiritually discerned what was going on, her life transformed and what the Lord gifted her with was much greater than she wanted to be. She realized this when she heard a true prohet speak and instantly she knew what to be true.
We get into trouble when try analyze and try to make things conform to our thinking. "I really want a computer and put in my request to God" suddenly there is a great deal on a computer, no interest or payments for 12 months. Wow!! that must be God, because He knows I don't have the money right now. Praise God I have a computer!!!! Very very very wrong. If I know scripture it says not to be a borrower. There are many scriptures to show me that I was in the flesh and this was not God. My number one mistake is I did not remain in the Spirit. Hope this helps.

Well, in the case of Jezebel spirits they prey on your desire "to do great things for God" (don't we all want that?). Nothing wrong with doing great things for God, but what He calls great and what the devil tries to convince you is great are two different things. Jesus said to be great in God's Kingdom (or is this Old Testement) we need to be a servant to all. So, you can check yourself to make sure you are really doing it with a servants attitude or are you trying to gain something by it?
I simply wanted people set free of demons, and (being a prayer warrior), if I could pray them free, I was going to. I felt like I did have a servants attitude, in that I was willing to pray night and day to get people free. But that scared, freaked feeling I had a lot of them should have been an indicator. If I was really in God's plan wouldn't I have felt peace? I spent most of that time leaving lights on, etc. (I said as a symbol of light to drive back darkness). But I know it was more. I've never been afraid of the dark until that time.
I ask God from time to time how I got into that whole deal and pray He will keep me from making such mistakes again. From my first encounters with that girl, I had a negative feeling about her. And Dutch Sheets says if you smell a rat, it probably is one (that that's The Holy Spirit warning you), and he says to stay with that gut feeling. I believe those gut feelings can save us a heap of trouble.
The devil had obviously heard my prayers to God about being used and the like (and he knew of the prophetic words God has given me and so on). So, he was trying to mess with me and mess up my chance to really be in the ministry God has for me by side tracking me into a false one. At the time, I had attented some of Jerry's meeting and the anointing on me was increasing. . .so I call this girl an "anointing wrecker" (though, it's really the devil working through her). What I believe about the devil hearing our prayers is: When I pray something out loud, he goes into action trying to make sure that prayer never works out. He knew my desire for more anointing, which was greatly increasing at that time. I felt like this whole incident set me back from moving on into that anointing at that time. But he tried to convince me I was anointed to pray demons off people who didn't even have them. I was seeking God so strongly at that time and praying so strongly. And then that happened, and I kind of quit praying with the same ferver and passion for a long spell.

In reference and repley to some of the Comments from Jerirose12.
Yes I do find Jezebel's prophecys attracting the desires of ego the bellyas well.
My christian friend hwo is quite prophetic recieved one where he was called
"Mighty man of valor"and that got his pride going and God loves him too. But i had to chuckle really when I read these scriptures about the mighty men of valor.
2Ki 5:1 Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valor, buthewas a leper.
Jdg 11:1 Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valor, and he was the son of a harlot: and Gilead begot Jephthah.
1Ki 11:28 And the man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph.
Now lets see one was a Leper another was the son of a harlot and yet another changed the day of worship.
So you see it is necessary to get the full picture of what Jezebel is saying as Pride comes before the fall.
Not to say that all men of valor are of this case but this can be misleading as well.
Thanks

That satan could not hear his prayers as he was sheltered in the presence of the Holy Spirit. He also spoke of having his armor on.
He did however say he could hear what he spoke and see his actions.
And as a matter of fact he did not tell people what God told him to do before hand but went and did it . Now this is my understanding of what he said.
Smith was also operational in all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit; and believed that a measureless amount was obtainable and that he in his ministry had only made a ripple on the waters. He never ever read any book other then the bible . His talk was always about Jesus as he never wanted to bring the anointing down in his life. Thousands were saved thru the Knowledge of Christ manisfested by the Holy Spirit working thru him. He never wrote a book about himself either. But the Books are made from his recorded messages to various churches and assemblies as well as on board ships etc.
He was a selfless man that wanted more of Jesus and less of him.
If you ever get the opportunity ;read what Jesus did in this mans life.
As he is able to do the same in yours.

Well, lets take it alittle easy here. First off, we don't get into a "soul tie" with someone. But it is a "covenant Promise"- (agreement). That is not something to be making with Satan, any demons or those strongly influenced by them.
Yes, it worked out great for them, as Satan set them up nicely. But, Debt is not something to want to intentionally get into.
yes, the Holy Spirit was prompting JeriRose, yet she can only pss on the warnings. Its up to those after hearing them to choose how to decide.
God makes it clear, anytime any kind of desire controls our thinking enough that we make it as a god, it takes our attention away from focusing on God.
God does not say that man's spirit lusts against Him, but the flesh. The desires we have for worldly pleasures that are of the devil. Gala. 5. Thus, God does not give us over to "soulish prayer"- (selfish desires), but we walk there intentionally. If we won't listen to God's promptings, then His Chastisements, God will then turn us over to Satan. But thats saved and reborn Children of His. Are this couple we are talking about saved and reborn or not?
If not, they didn't have to walk away from God, as never belonged to start with. If God is against borrowing, how is it He set up a special time every so often for relieving Debt? God never spoke against such, but instead provided a loving and forgiving way to relieve it at particular points.
No, I doubt God would accept borrowing for frivilous reasons. But where merited for honest to goodness reasons, He allows for it. Christ Himself declares- if a man asks for your coat, give him your cloak also. So God shows borrowing is fine. But this is for a need, not selfish want.
The Jezabel spirit does not prey on our "want to do good things for the Lord". Jezabel was a harlot. This type of spirit wants to influence us to do things totally opposite God and is usaully very clear about that in the way it presents itself and doctrine.
A Jezebel spirit is a controlling, lustful spirit that preys on changing our desires from doing good things for God, over to chasing after worldly lusts and trying to control other people, situations, etc. Look at Scriptures how she is depicted as quite the deciever to lull others into fornication and committing other sins against God.
God teaches us we are read and learn His Word to show ourselves in rightly dividing Truth. To test the spirits. So... analyzing is good, if done from God's Word for Truth or lie and seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance for understandingwhere and how the deception(s) are shown.
You do have a servants heart JeriRose. And God and Christ would not have instructed the "Body" to pray, if were not pertinant. Paul's skull was healed by God from other Apostles gathered around him praying over this. And theres many more examples of that.
Yes, any time Satan or his demons know God has a greater calling being worked on for someone, Satanic attacks increase to break down the chances of that calling being fulfilled and hurting thier work worse.
Your quite right about that feeling. God works thru our hearts, thru a "feeling", thru physical witness, words popping into our minds to warn us of such.
Well, Satan can hear even silent prayers. Look what happened to Daniel. In his home knelt down praying to God, Satan lead one of the King's people by there to see Daniel doing this and turned him in.
Well, the man who told you, you could do great things as driving demons out. All God's Children have that power as Christ described. But, it takes the kind of praying and fasting you do for certain types as Christ also declares. But, god knew Satan was trying to push you faster to where God wants you, that you would flop and Satan could boast thru others you are not credible.
This was a lesson from God how to avoid such things, once He has brought you to that level, place and time to be ready and prepared for it. Do not worryabout such things. Rmember what happened with Moses when God told him he was chosen to lead the Isrealites out of captivity and Moses killed the guard out of his own motivation and timing, not God's. Thus, God allowed Moses time to become prepared for his future task for God, just as He has with you.
Do not falter tho. Keep your fervent wishes for this in your heart. God put that desire there, for it is purely for God, not anything worldly. God tells us in His Word, by the Holy Spirit, He uplifts us and puts desires in our hearts to seek His Will and service for Him.
I disagree with the idea our prayers are sheltered from Satan when in the presence of the Holy Spirit. Look at what Gabriel told Daniel when appeared to give him the interpretation to that vision- (dream).
Gabriel spoke of his being detered by Satan's forces battling God's forces. Clearly the battle was over Satan having heard the prayers of Daniel and trying to stop God from answering thru Gabriel.
Wigglesworth being operational in the "Gifts" of God does not make him special. Fact is God and Christ declare, the Holy Spirit gives Gifts unto all God's Children of the Holy Spirit as according to God's Will for each. But by God's Will, not ours. It can be a desire to have others than we are Blessed with. But God, thru Apostle Paul declares to be satisfied with what we have been Gifted with.
And there have been thousands of souls saved thru many other Leaders of God over time. Smith wigglesworth was not a great man. God was a great God thru the man, because Mr. Wigglesworth allowed himself to be the vessel for God to produce this.
Wigglesworth was a very weak man to have God moving as intensely thru him as He had. Question that? Apostle Paul declares he glories not in what he had accomplished, but in his weaknesses, that show the strength of God working that much greater thru him for this.
If you want to think of it this way, you can. Wigglesworth was a "great man" in being so weak that God could shine so brightly thru him. But I Glorify God and work to do that, not men.
You know, I may be putting myself in a compromising position as Moderator here, but this I truely believe. When I look at Pstor Jerry Gaffney. I am not seeing a strong man. Rather, I see a weak man. A very weak man. Why? I praise and thank God every day to see Pastor being so weak, that God comes thru so strong, He outshines everything in Pastor's proximity.
The reason for this is, Pastor has understood the concept of needing to allow himself to be so helpless and needing of God in his heart and life, God accomplishes incredible moves of the Spirit and fills Pastor with such knowledge and Wisdom, that Pastor is one of a chosen few like that.
I felt that power of God from Pastor on Annointed since the very first day I visited here. Thus, if like, Pastor Jerry Gaffney is a great man, but not because of accomplishments. For he could not have done them of his own, but thru being so weak, God could do so much more thru him, than most you'll come across.
I praise and thank God for bringing me here and Gracing me with the chance to be a part of God's indescribable Ministry thru Pastor Jerry. It has been a priveledge and a Blessing every moment while here.
BTW- For those who consider "winning the lottery but being ruined by it" as Satan can Bless too, is false. God declares what these worldly "Blessings" are. Not "Blessings", but attractions, lusts, deceptions, etc, but never "Blessings".
"Blessings" from God, uplift, strengthen, improve, Glorify Him and edify the "Body", plus more. Satan's so called "Blessings", but which are really bondages, curses, etc, only bring destruction, ruin, despair, hurt, plus more. The "Fruit"- result of such a thing will be clearly evident. But Satan cannot "Bless" anyone, beings he is a limited Angelic being, not "all powerful" as God is.
God Bless!!

Paul said I must decrease so that Christ may Increase . To take up our cross daily is to die to self and sin. Paul said also:
1Co 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Co 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
He was a chief pharicee that exchanged all he knew for the meat of the word in 1 Cor 2 "detimined not to know
anything " But what was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit. And Yes Yes Yes to stress the point. When we are truly weak Jesus can make us strong .
