I pray for teens (and those older as well) who are addicted to video games -- to be broken of this addiciton. I pray their destiny is not dying in a video screen. Please, Lord, BREAK this addiciton. Remove this stronghold that allows demons to thwart the Lord's plans and put worldy and demonic ideas in people's minds. I pray for minds that are focused on YOU, not on video games and their content. I ask and pray, in Jesus Name, amen.

Boy, Oh Boy, was this a huge problem for me! I used to play video games from the time I woke up until I passed out from exhaustion. I Thanks God so much that he helped break that addiction and I just recently gave away all my video games and consoles so I no longer gratify the desires of my flesh as the Apostle Paul put it. It's been hard and I faced a huge problem with video games which cut into my relationships with friends and family but I broke it and have so much more time to read God's word and do so many more productive things I thought I had no time for and made excuses for so I wouldn't have to do them (like go to school or church). I pray for those facing video game addictions, because they are incredibly difficult to break, because video games addictions in themselves often come about because people want to escape reality and not face the world out there, but when reality comes knocking at your door and God asks you how you spent your time on earth, there are no excuses for time wasted. I can honestly say I've wasted a good portion of my life on video games, even though I'm only a teenager and could've spent that time doing so many better things. I'm glad atleast that God gave me the strength and is continuing to help me face the temptation of playing video games and remove them from the throne that's in my heart. I hope and pray that God will continue that good work in me and make the addiction I had for video games like I once had with pornography destroyed and cultivate in me a hate for that which I once loved...A new creation I hope to be in Christ and I pray for those out there who face this pain, this addiction. May it be broken and may the power of the Jesus Christ sweep through people's lives and my life..I know it's not easy, but all things are possible through God.

Lord, I pray in agreement with these prayers and ask also that you will deliver our young people , not only from the video games but from all of the negative and senuous television stations, radios and movies etc. Dear lord deliver the mind and thoughts of the parents and older ones who find no fault in allowing and encouraging our young people to participate in these things that are not of you. Send motivators and mentors who live according to your will to help break these strong ties and wiles of the devil in the minds and hearts of our young people. After you have done this touch the minds that they will become receptive to your will and your way. In the name of Jesus. Amen

That's what my nephew told me -- he uses the games to escape the pain of real life.

My sister told me TV is her drug -- said she can't fall asleep without it on. And she watches so much wordly fare.

Thank you for the awesome tesitmony, Stu. This gives me hope!!! My nephews stay up Saturday night playing video games till all hours, then they don't want to go to church on Sunday.

So many have confirmed my belief that video games (and all other forms of electronic box or screen addictions) are robbing teens/people of their futures and destinies.

Dear Lord, I ask once more that You would break teens and others of video game addicitons. Also, break all televsions, video, movie, etc. addicitons. I pray that teens will run to YOU, not to these world's of escape to find the healing and medication for their pain. Send something into their lives, Lord, that will capture their attention, directing it to YOU. I pray that YOU, not video games will be their Everything and their All. Send forth the conviction of The Holy Spirit to touch their minds and hearts and, most of all, their spirits. Draw them to You and away from video games. I pray they will be overhwhelmed by Your glory, anointing, fire and Presence so that they know YOU are WAY better than any thrill or adventure they can find in a video game. Please let them spend HOURS with YOU, not with video games. I pray for miracles to come into the lives of our teens or others who need this addiciton broken from their lives.

I pray that the army of The Lord that this next generation represents will rise up for battle! I pray they will put on their armour and be ready to fight! I pray they will seek YOU for YOUR battle plan, not be seeking out the battle plans in video games.

Lord, You have awesome and wonderful destinies for Your children. Please do not let them throw those plans away because they are trapped in video game screens. Let them get free of these games and ask You to show them their destiny. Let them know the exciting futures You have lined up for them, and let them pursue those plans not these video games. I pray that Your children are the most purposeful, destiny minded people this world has ever seen or witnessed. Let them determine that they WILL NOT be stopped by video game playing. I pray that they SO desire to make their lives count for something for YOU, that they pull away from these games and pull close to You in order that You may tell them what that something is. Let them be FREE, FREE, FREE of video games and FULL, FULL, FULL of plans and purpose in YOU.

Most of all, Lord God, let them be FULL of YOU, not full of video games thought/addictions!!! I ask and pray all these things, in Jesus Name, amen.

Father, break this addiciton, in Jesus Name! Let Your children rise up and fight this in their lives! Let them know the plans You have for them...not plans to hide out in video games, but plans to go out and Make A Difference. I pray they become MAD (Make A Difference!) people! I pray they move into the destiny, all and purpose You have for their lives. Let them realize the time these games waste and how they can not receive from You when their mind is totally absorbed in these games. Break through their game induced stupor that is drug like. I pray, Father, they will give up these games and move on from them. I pray they GO OUT AND LIVE LIFE TO THE FULL!!! Let them come up for air and breathe deeply of You! Let LIFE around them COME TO LIFE!!! Let them see the beauty, joy and excitement of just being alive!!! Let them bring the issues of life that drive them to use video games as salve on their wounds to YOU, so that You can heal them of the wounds and help them deal with the issues. I pray they will deal wtih the issues IN and WITH You, not in and with video games. Truly, Lord, they seem to be TRAPPED in the video game screen. I pray for FREEDOM, COMPLETE AND TOTAL FREEDOM!!! In Jesus Name, amen.

Lord, I pray that some way, somehow you will reach all Christians addicted to video games and set them free. I pray they will no longer use video games to escape and avoid their problems. Lord, whatever You can do to reach them, reach them. May Your Holy Spirit draw them ever closer to You and further and further from the lure of video games. Please let Your people know and understand that You have awesome visions, purposes and destinies for them. I ask for them to be WIDE AWAKE to all You have for them. I pray they will abandon video games and abandon themselves to You. I ask and pray these things, in Jesus Name, amen.

I stand in agreement with this prayer. I am doing a media fast for the first part of the year....seeking God to be my Everything. I pray that others will fast off this stuff as well and will break the cycle of addiction.

Father God, let this addiciton be broken, in Jesus Name! I am glad one nephew will be leaving soon, so they can't fight over the video machine. I ask, Lord, for BOTH nephews to be set free (And set all of us free of TV addictions.). I pray, Lord, that there does not have to be a constant SOUND in this house -- of either a video game, a television show, a movie, a CD, a radio station. I don't think the TV has been off for one moment in the house today. . .SAD!!! Please show my family and ME a way to life oustide a box, including the computer screen, though in praying on here we are ministering to others, so that is not what I mean. Lord God, I come boldly, clothed in Your righteousness, the blood of Jesus, and I ask my petition again: Let this video game addtiction be broken off my family and all others represented here on anointed.net. Praise the Lord for the calls and destinies You have given to us. . . .and let them be REALIZED, in Jesus Name, not bypassed for video games!!! I ask and pray in Jesus Name, amen.JeriRose

My nephew, David, wrote in his Bible that he wants to let go of all the things dragging him down. I pray he sees video games are doing that!

Lord, open his eyes to the truth that video games are dragging him down! Show him and all other teens that You have great destinies for them, NOT in the light of the video game screen. I pray that they will know and understand the detrimental affects of these games. Show them there is LIFE to be lived -- LIFE IN CHRIST! Make plain to them that they can have an awesome relationship in God that is 10 X better or a 100 X better than the life they try to live out through their video games. Send Your Spirit to convict them and to woo them. I pray they are touched by You in such a way they will never be satisfied to sit on the video games again. RUIN THEM for You, Jesus! I pray Your glory will touch and surround them and make them hungry for Your Presence over ALL ELSE. Break through this addiction, Lord! Show them that nothing but YOU satisfies! These games are like a drug, used to self-medicate the emotional pain of their lives. Show them how You will remove those pains and heal them of those hurts, so they will no longer have any need of the video games for this. I pray for an awesome change in their lives! Let them give it all up, lay it all down! In Jesus Name, amen! JeriRose

Dear Lord, I pray that this addiciton is broken in the lives of all on this board who see it in loved ones or themselves. Rather, let those who are addicted decide to give this up to spend time with You or reading Your Word, or putting positive, God honoring information into their minds. I ask that they would make their focus YOU, not video games. Help them to know how this wastes time, how this eats away valuble time that they could spend listening for Your voice. Father, I pray that they will know there is more to life than video games. Please let them quit getting lost in a video screen, quit hiding in these games to deal with life (that is escape it's pain). I pray they won't think how they are doing on a video game determines the quality and value of their life. Lord God, BREAK this, in Jesus Name!!! JeriRose

I fully agree with doing "media fasts", as it does not matter what form it takes, media plays a major role in taking our attention away from God, from sports events, to video games and more.

We as God's children these days, spend way too much time in front of a screen involved in activities other than seeking and or serving God.

Lord-

We thank you and Praise you for the deliverances from these addictions and pray that you would continue to bring more of your children and more unsaved out of these bondages, that they might feel the freedom from such and be brought to your Throne for seeking you more and for Salvation. In Jesus Name- Amen!!

The Marines boot camp really helped my nephew, Joshua, get more free of these games. He hardly plays at all now that he's on leave. So there is one getting delivered! Pray he continues to draw close to the Lord, so the Lord becomes His all, and he doesn't need video games for escape.

Nephew, David, in some ways is close to the Lord, but still fills so much time with video games....

My sister-in-law asked my nephew, Nick (Nicholas), "What do you want to be known as? The guy who plays video games? No-one really knows who Nick is, except the guy who plays video games." (He says because he works all day, he's entitled to relax with the games in the evening.)

I found out my nephew's Live 360 can connect them to my nephew-in-law, Ted, so they are playing against each other. Right now, he's in prison for almost committing a crime, but the idea is this is not a healthy relationship.

Well, I continue to pray that all our broken of these addictions. With men it's video games; with women it's TV. I tend toward Television. Or if I don't like what's on TV, make up my own stories. We all seem to have our methods of escape.

Dear Lord, please show all people with video game addictions their need to get free and their way to get free. Show them the way of escape. Wake them up to the life to be lived. I pray they quit spending HOURS on these games, when they could be seeking You or ministering for You. Call to them through the din of the video games. Get their attention! Tell them plainly what You have in store for them...outside the world of video games. I pray their minds are cleared of these games and their ideas. I pray they are ALERT and AWAKE to You. Move mightily in people's lives so they no longer need the thrill of the video game, because they have found the thrill of You. Show them there is NO high like he MOST HIGH and that whatever satisfaction they are deriving from the video game can't compare to what's to be found in You. I pray to see young men and women growing up o love and serve You, NOT video games! Send deliverance to your people, Lord. Set SO many FREE of this bondage! I ask and pray, in Jesus Name, amen.

Well, I'd be skeptical about classifying video games at addiction level, if people can still go to work and function properly and only plays them when get home after that. Most addicts of drugs, alcohol and gambling among others, live homeless lives, as thier addiction interferes with thier whole life as a person.

A friend, EB as is known, yes, he is only a social alcoholic who drinks from the moment off work till he goes home at closing time. but, he is now divorced and job not doing well at all.

Being all people are individual, thus different, what things I do to relax, may make others more tense and not relaxed. What they do to relax, may be worse for me. Same with others and your form of relaxation.

People are known to need a release from the tensions of work daily. That can be a wide variety of ways, knowing the number in population.

My friend Lyle's son was a clear picture of an addict, knowing he played all day long and ended up trying to live out a game with his family and ended up in jail.

we need to be more careful how we classify people who play these games. because we could then classify people who ride thier atv's right after work all evening most every day, or go fishing every evening or do other things every evening repetatively as addicts too, tho they are not. They have a love for such things because its a release for them from work tensions, but thats all, its not an a true addiction.

And I've been one and God turned me around to help enough to know we need to be more sure of things before just justifying something in our own eyes.

It does not matter if its food, play toys of some kind or particular activities, all can be abused. Yet, not all are abusing it either. Some can handle them, where others may be weak to them.

God speaks of our knowing the difference between balancing our activities, to becoming a gluton. Let us not condemn any particular activity unless God speaks directly against such. For those God does not speak against, are allowable, so long as they are kept in balance with all other things.

Here, you could say the people are addicted to fishing, golfing and more, because its the main activities most everyone does daily. But, they are not. this is a major tourist area and those activities go on daily for residents and visitors and vacationers here.

so, lets be more careful how we guage such things. I know some have a strong conviction against such things. Thats fine. No arguement there. but, put that sincerity to good Godly use by focusing on only the Satanically abusive part without condemning the whole point. Thats like dumping out a whole barrel of apples, if one rotten one is found at the top. Not good people.

think about it.

God Bless!!
