Hi everyone

This is my first visit to the site for over a year. We have been travelling around and the Lord said stop when we reached the UK. On Thursday 3rd January 2008 we are having a prayer walk around the streets of our local town. I wonder if there are any of you out there who have some scripture to back this up and also maybe some prayers especially designed for this. Many of those who will be walking have never done anything like this before.

Hope it is ok posting this here.

Greetings

Trisha

Hello Trisha,

Welcome to Annointed. We are glad to that Christ sent you to us!

These are some of the Bible verses the Lord has put in my heart to share with you. You can align your walk with these verses!

My sisters and brothers in Christ here at Annointed will surely be giving you some more verses.

May God send His legion of angels to assist you as you and your team prayerfully walk around the streets of UK.

Ezekiel 22: 30
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it:....

John 14: 13-14
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

James 5: 16
.....Pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Ephesians 6: 18

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

1 Thessalonians 5. 16-18
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Thank you for your answer with accompanying texts.

To explain a little. I have worshipped for many years in a very charismatic church. There were many blessings and I experienced many different aspects of the Lord and also of His desire for us as His people. I have done many Prayer Walks with amazing results, I have seen the Lord manifest Himself. I now find myself in a very traditional Baptist Church. I know it is where the Lord has placed me but it is very different. It has in many ways been good for me because it has turned me back to basics. To the Word of God. I have been asked to co ordinate the Prayer Work and many are very willing to go on this Prayer Walk but the traditionalists are saying that Prayer Walking is not in the Bible.

I have many Scripture Verses to show the need to pray for our neighbourhood and our leaders etc but at the moment I need to show them that it is necessary, as well as praying in the church, to get out onto the streets. To walk the streets and to manifest the Lord's Presence because He is in us and if we walk He walks there too.

So I thought there might be a wealth of knowledge and wisdom out there among "annointed's" members to help me.
