Preparing the Bride of Christ

There is much being said today about the "Remnant Chruch," those few who are said to make up the bride of Christ. The problem that I am running into is many in these circles are giving "prophecies" that don't always line up with The Word. And some even say it doesn't matter if it doesn't line up with God's Word, because if the "Spirit" gave it to them it must be right. I think it's from another spirit, but nonetheless. . . . Here is what The Bible says about the preparation of the Bride (as opposed to all these "prophets" who claim to be preparing the Bride to meet Christ):

22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansingher by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." 32This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Another well known passage comes to mind. Not everyone that says unto Me "Lord, Lord...." but he that does the will of My Father in Heaven. How do we know the will of the Father? HIS WRITTEN WORD!!! Those wanting to see Heaven need to be doing what The Word says....not following a word of "prophecy" that is countradictory to The Word.

Also, there is the parable of the master (in Matthew, Mark and Luke) who put the servant in charge and went away. . . .and when the servant decided the master wasn't coming back any time soon, he quit doing what the master instructed. Then, the master returned, and the servant was cuaght unprepared. He had dicrect instructions from the master (as The Bible is to us), but he quit following those instructions. So throw out any and EVERY wind of doctrine contrary to God's Word!!! Follow His express instructions to us.

B - basic

I - intrustions

B - before

L - leaving

E - earth

1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

It is not judgmental to try (test...explore) the spirits...It is the same as inspecting the fruit.

The Word says that by their fruit YOU will KNOW THEM.

You are "right on"

God expects us to stand on His Word, and His TRUTH....

Thanks for the feedback.

I am actually getting a little leary of much in the church. I have been researching and reading, and some things that I had thought were right on and from God are now in question. And I can see that they don't totally line up with God's Word.

It is interesting that in Revelation Jesus is called "The Word of God." So, if "a word" is contrary to His Word, throw it out!!! If we love Him we will keep His commandments, not some word that was given over us that is not in line with what the Bible says.

There are some who say the Spirit is the final authority, because He helps us understand The Word. But they are willing to believe things that the so-called Spirit (I believe it's a different spirit!) tells them even if it's not Biblical.

I have come to appreciate the Bible so much more in the last few days. For when I question any doctrine I come across, I simply see what The Word says!!! Some say we need a new revelation, a new experience, etc. But the Bible is 66 books of BEAUTIFUL words to us!!! The Bible IS a book of prophecy. All these people running around looking for a word need to read their Bible! I had fallen into that same, "I need a word" trap of recent. But God has brought me back to a love for His Word. Reminds me of the church in Revelation who was told to do the the things they did at the first in a show of getting back to their Frist Love. One of the first things all of us did was read The Word. Amazingly, Jesus is called The Word of God in Revelation. So, if we love Jesus, we will love His Word!!!

Awesome!!!! "In the beginning was the Word".... for some reason we forget that the Word is Christ. So if you believe unto Christ you have to believe unto the Word.

I understand the how, at least here in the Pacific Northwest, people came to be so caught up in getting that prophesy, that word, so much so that the Word was not picked up and used as our authority. Yet praise God, the Spirit is moving upon the people, and those willing to listen and be tried in their belief system are receiving revelation. They became slovenly in their relationship. Just like the virgins waiting and some did not fill their lamps because they assumed they could borrow from others. they wanted others to do the work so to speak.

When I read posts such as yours, it truly makes my day, and you will be richly blessed because you are sensitive to our Lord. I used to sit at meetings and watch people disregard what the Lord would have for them, and I would think "Lord if they want to throw it away I will receive it and use it" I felt like a spiritual janitor sweeping all the discarded Words and instead of trashing them I received of His manna and would leave full.

I didn't go to receive, I just wanted to bask in the anointing of His Spirit and just sitting quietly rejoicing in Him was so much better. Or I would just sit there and read His word and such life would spring out of the pages, I would often times be overcome by revelation. So keep it up and allow Him to immerse you in His sweet sweet oil of revelation and anointing. blessings!!

I also agree that there are too many prophets for profit! I am leery of anyone that calls themselves a prophet or prophetess.

Revelation 2:20 (New American Standard Bible)

"But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols."

The true prophet or prophetess is humble enough not to claim the title. Now God may call them a prophet of the Lord, Gen 20:7, Exodus 7:1, Deut 18:15, Deut 18:18,
Deut 34:10, Judges 4:4, 1 Samuel 3:20

Now the remnant and the bride of Christ. Throughout the entire Bible, the remnant has always been what was left over. It was the faithful after judgement in the desert with Moses. Isaiah refers in ch 11 to the remnant, and Paul talks about it as well in the book of Romans. The remnant are those believers that do not or have not fallen away. The great apostasy is yet to come, but is yet already upon us. This and the revelation of the antichrist are probably the only two signs left prior to the rapture and armagedon.

It is Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit in us preparing the bride for Christ. As the bible says that the spirit of Jesus is the Holy Spirit. (Romans 8:9)

1I hope you will put up with a little of my foolishness; but you are already doing that. 2I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 3But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent's cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough. 5But I do not think I am in the least inferior to those "super-apostles." 6I may not be a trained speaker, but I do have knowledge. We have made this perfectly clear to you in every way.

7Was it a sin for me to lower myself in order to elevate you by preaching the gospel of God to you free of charge? 8I robbed other churches by receiving support from them so as to serve you. 9And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied what I needed. I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so. 10As surely as the truth of Christ is in me, nobody in the regions of Achaia will stop this boasting of mine. 11Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do! 12And I will keep on doing what I am doing in order to cut the ground from under those who want an opportunity to be considered equal with us in the things they boast about. 13For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

(2 Corinthians 11: 1 - 13)

6Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
"Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
7Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
8Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)

9Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' " And he added, "These are the true words of God."

10At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

(Revelation 19:9 - 10)

11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood,
and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

(Revelation 19:1 - 15)

6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! 9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!
10Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

11I want you to know, brothers, that the gospel I preached is not something that man made up. 12I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it; rather, I received it by revelation from Jesus Christ.

(Galatians 1:6 - 12)

3Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. 4For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.

(Jude 1:3 -& 4)
