Why won't my posts use word-wrap?

When I make posts or read other's posts, the text stretches about four screens over to the right, so that I cannot read the posts without clicking on the horizontal scroll bar multiple times back and forth just to read a post. Is there some sort of setting for that? When I type in the post, it works fine, and it automatically wraps at the end of the text box and on to the next line. But then when I go back to view the thread, the text box stretches out four screens wide to the right, which makes it impractical to try to read posts, because they it's too cumbersome. Any suggestions?

In the old days it would do that occasionaly. I remember trying to figure it out, then. I know if a wide picture is in inserted in a thread that will make the screen wide for that particular thread. Other then that, I am not really sure. Zoom can do this, making everything bigger, including the writing. But that also makes this posting box wider and the letters big. So, that isn't it. I really don't know, so I am not much help.
