A Word From God ~

I cannot believe I didnt see this section sooner. Yes this is what I have been looking for a .. a word from GOD for me ?

This is a word that God gave me a while back. He explained to me that our focus is to be on HIM, not on the need. We are to seek HIM not the answer to the prayer. In your case, seek HIM, not a word. I have been a long time without a "word." I keep thinking He is starting to speak in that Still Small Voice, then it comes out wrong, as in just not something God would say....so I have to keep waiting. But in the mean time, there is His Word (Bible), there are Christian TV programs, wonderful Christian and praise music...and so on. God can and will speak through all of these. I know this seems elementary, that you might think we would all remember to seek HIM rather than the solution, healing, money, etc., but I need to constantly be reminded of it. CONSTANTLY! I have to keep refocusing on Him, pulling my thoughts from straying in all sorts of directions. While you wait paitiently on HIM, He will take you by surprise. You just keep showing up to seek Him, and one day He will break through and speak.

Also, I know that you are wanting the answer to doing missions in Texas, but any ministry at all we want to do begins and flows from our relationship with Him. Make that relationship as strong as possible....and ministry will come out of your relationship with Him. Without HIM, you can do nothing! The greatest thing you can EVER have is HIM! Seek HIM first and foremost. He will satisfy and reward you in ways you never thought possible. One day, as you are just going along doing everything you can to get close to Him, He will show you the way you are to minister for him, and He will place a ministry in your hands and care.

I know we don't like waiting. We want it to happen RIGHT NOW or yesterday!). But God has a timing. Even if it seems like God is slow.....................sometimes He's actually waiting for us to catch up. We have areas in our lives where we are not ready. Mentally, emotionally or spiritually, we are stuck in some place that would cause us to not be effective in ministry. I remember a scripture that says don't let one who is newly saved be in leadership (in the church). In other words, there is a maturity that needs to come; there is a proven faithfulness that person needs to show. It's like right now in my life (age 46), I am trying to get my driver's license. I am also on the verge of doing ministry that requires me to move out of this state. I will need a license to get around in California (where I feel called to move). I didn't really need the license before, because I was not mentally and emotionally ready to step out and make the leap of faith to California. Now, as I am feeling eager to go there, I am also ready to push through for my license. God is working on getting all areas of our lives and parts of us caught up to each other, so, as a whole, we are ready to go and do all He is calling us to.

Thanks for the kind response.

I've been a long time learning this....and then I forget it, and God has to remind me of it all over again.

He is working on me right now to get back to just seeking HIM, while I wait for Him to unfold the rest of His plan for me.

I pray you can find that ministry He has for you, but I pray that your #1 ministry is to Him!
