If Jesus is Your fried, Lord, Savior, King, what have you to be resentful about? Look to Him and rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of life. I know that sounds simplified and pat. But it's just plain what all of us need to do in the situations of life that face of. There is so much in my life both negative and positive, and once most is positive....but in all the fickleness of my human emotions and perspective, I have got to FOCUS on Him. Rather than pray, etc. I leave you with what I would pray for you. JeriRose

The only cure for resentment and unforgiveness is to focus on Jesus. When we think about the extent of His forgiveness towards us, our attitudes will start changing. When we remember His faithfulness despite all our failings, our hearts will bubble with gratitude. When we thank Him for all His manifold blessings, we will pause and wonder! And when we start praying for our enemies, slowly the cloud of resentment will start departing. Forgiveness is one of the greatest weapons of heaven. Forgive everyone in your life willingly and very soon, the blessings of God will overtake you.

Lord, let forgiveness begin. Let all the resentment be removed. Let thankfulness rise in its place. In Jesus name, Amen.

Father, remove these feelings of resentfulness and selfishness from within Barbara. May she celebrate with joy the good news of her friends. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen

I do not know your exact situation so I cannot really be specific about this. I know that I have had a hard time rejoicing when others achieve and when they have been fortunate. That can be very normal. I do know that I have become less resentful of others now that I have set certain goals for myself; one of them is something that nobody has ever done before. I have every intention of being the first person to do it. (This has to do with my first love, needlework, which is something that only "thread addicts" understand--if you just get hooked once, you will understand.)

I can also tell you that one advantage of getting older (yes, there are a few, believe it or not) is that I have seen that certain situations that were very difficult at the time did end up benefiting me later. I was a pawn in a very bitter power struggle which was terribly painful at the time; however, it worked to my advantage later because it meant that I inherited money at a time that it was really helpful to have, because it meant I could finish nursing school.

Acknowledge your feelings and work toward your own goals in life.

I will keep you in my prayers.
