Missionary counseling

We have a missionary in our organization who has a deep love for needy people, and is doing much to help the poor. This missionary is also struggling with issues of self-doubt and insecurity, and also struggles apparently with letting God be the clear and authoritative leader of the ministry, using his means and his power. I am trying to help this missionary see that we must trust God and His word completely, and not seek to do God's ministry in our own way, but always to seek to do God's work in God's way, not relying on our own understanding or our own desires, but rather ministering in submission to God's Word.
We remember that many of the kings of Israel sought to serve God in their own way, rather than by following the revelation of God in the Law. King Saul wanted to do sacrifices to God, but that was only for the priests to do. King Solomon in spite of his great wisdom, disobeyed God by marrying many foreign wives, and by heaping up gold and horses and importing horses from Egypt, all of which God explicitly said the King must not do. It ended up leading to the demise of Solomon and of the entire nation of Israel.
I pray that this missionary will realize that we must always serve God in the way that He wants to be served, following his commands, and not serving Him in our own foolish wisdom.
This is a very important issue, and I believe it might be why this missionary seems to have constant struggles and emotional issues that hinder the ministry and peace that should be in our lives. We need to pray for true submission to God and His ways.

Beech112 thank you so much for a very important reminder to me today of a critical principle in doing the Lord's work. I hope this missionary may become humble enough to take counsel from anothers. We all need that from time to time. I will pray for your need.
Dear Lord, I pray this new missionary will learn that all the zeal in the world cannot replace the humility of always seeking to do things in accordance with Thy mind and will. Help him also to be humble enough to take counsel and correction when needs be from others who may have more experience or important insights they can teach. May he not bring a disruptive influence into the work and may Thou be able to use him effectively according to Thy own will and desire, I pray in Jesus holy name, amen.

beech112-
Understand, if this Minister is not receptive to God's leading thru you, prayer is needed for another Minister of God to be brought in to mentor them. (one in the same field of service as this one is).
Lord-
We pray your will be done in helping this Minister to become the Leader you want of them, thru the means you know will work to reach this Leader of yours. In Jesus Name- Amen!!
