When 2 Share Dreams

Hello Everyone. I have a few questions. Are all dreams from God? If so, when do you know whether or not to share dreams? I have always had dreams. I often share them with my mother; however, she does not seem to understand. She often talks about dreams that she has had that did not make any sense and therefore; seemed to have no meaning. People say that some dreams come from eating sweets, while others say that dreams are what is in our sub conscious; yet there are others who say that EVERY dream has a meaning and is from God. What do you all think? I can usually tell when a dream has a meaning and when I am to either share it with the person or just pray about it.

Here's my situation: I have a friend who I stopped communicating with for some time ago due to somethings. Anyway, when we used to talk years ago, I would share with her dreams that I would have concerning her and she seemingly did not understand; although the dreams did have meaning and in her regular conversations with me, she would confirm the dreams in one way or another. I remember having a dream where she took a test and something was not positive about it. I struggled with whether or not to share it because I didn't want to be the "bearer of bad news"; however, God does give us forewarning. Anyway, she did not pass the test.

Some years later, we are now talking again and I have recently had three dreams somewhat in a row about her. One dream, she was shouting and praising God and crying. Well, I checked my voicemail and she had left a testimony - that confirmed the dream. Last night I had a dream where we were on a bus, with a pastor and the pastor was trying to tell her something; however, she didn't understand what the pastor was saying. If I recall correctly, I think she even "shot him a birdie." In my spirit, I was saying the pastor is really right with what he is saying.

In real life yesterday, she asked me to go with her to this church that she attended. She wanted me to go with her to make an apologize to the church for something she did. I was a little hesitant and told her that I would call her back. I spoke with one person and they said I didn't have to go. I spoke with another person and they said the Bible says in the mouth of two or three witnesses the word is established; therefore, I should go as a witness. I called her back, but she was on the other line. She called me back and I was on the other line. I eventually called her back, but I was so sleepy that she asked me to call her this morning.

Did I dream what I did because I was subconsciously thinking about her asking me to go with her to the church tonight and apologize? Did God give me this dream? If so, should I share it with her? I don't want to share something and it is rejected. Also, I don't mind going with her; however, I will have nothing to say and I don't want to get caught up in anything. I think that it is great that she wants to apologize as long as her hurt is pure. What about the part of the dream, where she did not understand what the pastor was saying and flipped him off? Is this a warning? Do I need to share this with her, so that AS LONG AS THE MAN OF GOD IS SAYING SOMETHING THAT IS OF GOD, SHE WILL RECEIVE IT? Also, when I become someones friend, God begins to show me all kinds of things - I have even seen in a vision where a friend would go to the grocery store and when I actually talked to them, they would tell me about their day and I would say I already know and they would ask me how and I would tell them, I just saw it. I never understood why God would show me that someone went to the grocery store except - it seemed to have no meaning; except, for the fact that He is developing prophecy in me and wants to find me faithful over a few things. So, should I share this dream with her? How do I know when God wants me to share dreams? Thanks!

A few thoughts;
The bible tells us...

Romans 14:19 (KJV) Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

Luke 1:79 (KJV.) To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

Colossians 3:15 (KJV) And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

1 Corinthians 7:15 (KJV) But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

1 Peter 3:11 He must turn from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.

1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.
As in all the congregations of the saints,

Hebrews 12:14 (KJV) Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Do you see a pattern here?
I try to always remember this... someday I will see Jesus face to face and answer this question...
Did I choose to love?
Did I walk in love the very best I know how?

Here's my advice.
Ask God to lend you.
Wait on the Lord's lead and
follow after His Peace.

Its documented well, humans are able to bring about dreams on a particular subject if think about them enough before bed time or naps. As for sharing things, I've shared insights with some who rejected it. A portion of them told me later they wished they'd listened, while others I never heard back from.

The point about where two wtnesses are concerned, that should be from your praying to God. You do not mention if you know all circumstances about her situation she asked your help with.

Well, if you pray to God for the words to say, then sharing this with your friend will go easier, with the Lord choosing the words, as that part of her irritation with a Pastor and showing that physical responce, requires a loving, tactful approach from a nonoffensive attitude and neutral wording, so as not to set them off, but more to ponder on such things and draw them to seek God's guidance about it.

It could be Prophecy God is developing in you, but I've had visions and dreams for years as well and the fact is, I've been Blessed with Discernment, not Prophecy. That is something, as time goes on and this "Gift" developes, God will open up to you thru confirmation, what Gift you've been blessed with.

As far as when you should share, that has to be when God puts it on your heart to share such things. When there are touchy subjects like you mentioned in such, its best to seek God to choose the timing and words for this. There were times I've prayed and God gave me a sick feeling as tho to avoid sharing, yet then also a sense of urgency at times to share, while others still, no clear answer until some time I'm around them and it just happens to come into the conversation and the exchange about it flows perfect.

God will teach you such things and will help to hone the Gift(s) He has given you, but it will take time and a process of learning, knowledge and wisdom about this.

Thank you so much for your response - I will come back and read this from time-to-time. Giving God the glory, honor and praise, but you really helped to put things into perspective for me as I was feeling a little unsettled. My friend did tell me things concerning her situation, but I can not say as to whether or not she told me all the details. Not to long before I read your reply, I was actually praying for her - I thank God that she is willing to apologize for her error and I prayed that the church will receive her apology in peace and with sisterly and brotherly love and that my friend may walk away with peace and go on with her life with God's guidance.

Your going to find, as you grow closer to God and He developes whatever Gift He has Blessed you with, while speaking to people, at times, you may say something now and then that makes no sense at all, yet the person your talking to may come later and tell you "Thats just what I needed to hear", or they may get irritated and ask how you knew.

Sometimes, when God uses us as vessels to help people, He will prompt us to speak things we don't expect, because He knows what we don't about that person and will speak to them to prick thier heart to accepting something or needing to hear something thats necessary to help them. Remember, the battle we face is not of the flesh, but of the spirit.

Yes and Amen! I have already experienced what you have mentioned above, but I believe that I really have no idea of the degree/intensity/level (not sure of the correct word here) that God is going to take the gift(s) to, but I figure it God trusts me and favors me with the gift(s) that I should trust God to help with the gift(s.) I also have to learn how to not be emotional - I start thinking that I have "missed God" or that I am in error when people seemingly don't understand, but I'm getting better with that. Also, I used to be bothered, no not bothered, but wanted understanding from God when God would show me things and someone would ask why did God show you my personal business and I really could'nt tell them why. At one point, I wanted God to stop showing me things about people at times. I figure since God gave me the gift(s), I can handle it but I just have to be developed in the gift(s) - once that happens, I'll know exactly when God is telling me something and what He is telling me to do with the something that He shows me - I'll also have peace about what God shows me and 1) not be fearful of sharing it with someone thinking that I have "missed God," 2) or think that they will not understand and they will question me - even if they do not understand and question me, I would just like to have peace from God that I have heard correctly from Him, thank you again for allowin God to use you. They will teach you about “flushing dream” not being from God. It’s also good to understand what a familiar spirit is, but that another lengthy teaching.

This verse sounded sooo harsh when I was younger, but now it makes a lot of since to me...experincial knowledge.
Matt 7:6 (paraphrased)
Don’t give your treasures to pigs, they will only trample them in the mud and turn on you.
The forewarning of her reaction could be for YOU instead of her. Here's what the bible says...
Proverbs 4:23 (paraphrased)
Guard your heart with diligence, because the source of life comes from it.

I would wait on God and ask him why is he showing me this.

If God is telling you to stand in the gap in prayer, then ask God to remove any barriers (including her pains and hurts) keeping her from being receptive. If God is asking you to pray for your friend this way, then she doesn't need to know anything.

I believe he can help you out with that.

This is what I would ask God...
Father,
What has hurt this person so badly for them to be soo angry? (Then, wait for God's reply..)
Do you what me to ask them?
Please show me how to repond to this. ( He could tell you to not repond. Understand, that not responding can be an exceptable responce at times. God can and will harden our hearts towards a situation for our good at times.)
Then, ask Him to please minister and heal this situation.
(He can do things we can't.)
Also, when I become someones friend, God begins to show me all kinds of things - I have even seen in a vision where a friend would go to the grocery store and when I actually talked to them, they would tell me about their day and I would say I already know and they would ask me how and I would tell them, I just saw it. I would recommend you study what the bible says about what prophecy is and it's not. It will help answer alot of these questions, but that's another lengthy thread... :-)

I would recommend you study what the bible says about what prophecy is and it's not. It will help answer alot of these questions, but that's another lengthy thread... :-)

Just a side note...
God wants us to be "joyful givers" of our time, talents, and treasures.
There's a bible verse that says... (paraphased again, due to time restrains)
If we are not giving with a glad heart, then it is best we do not give.
Why?
God is concerned about our heart staying pure and filled with love for him and other. That's difficult / impossible if our heart is heavy over resentments or outside manipulation.

Yes, at times you will "miss the mark" in understanding or sharing of an insight. It happens, we are falable humans. I've done it many times in the nearly 30 years God has operated this Gift He gave me. So, don't be ashamed or wish to quit if that happens. You, like me and all others with Gifts, have to learn as God helps us grow, for better understanding and the wisdom how to best serve God as we learn about them and start using them.

Do not be hurt or afraid when God shows you something about someone or aspects of thier life, they never shared with you. God would not open this up to you if not for good reason. But, rather, be patient in waiting on God, seeking him for what He would have you do with such info.

And if another gets irritated or negatively reacts to your knowledge of something about them, let it go past you. Do not catch and take those reactions to heart. So long as God lead you to share it, then it will be the choice of the reciever of that info, in how to deal with such.

There will be those grateful in hearing, others who are spiteful, angry etc when hear it. It comes with the territory when Blessed by God with these types of Gifts. See, God helps us at times by sharing things with us thru other people, that the reality of God and the need for our attention to the info is heeded.

As such, we can't argue God had to show them this, but also, hearing it from another human means, not only does God know, He shared it with another human like us, to get our attention, since its coming from a physical aspect of our world.

Why God gave you this Gift? Well, God just doesn't choose a person out of the blue, snap His fingers and POOF, they got the Gift. No, God chooses each and every Child of His to recieve at least one of nearly 30 to more, various Gifts of the Spirit. He does this, as He knows who has the ability to carry out the use of this- (these) Gifts in best service for God.

Thus, what each of us is now responcible for, is learning exactly what the Gift(s) are and learn more how to develope and use them to Glorify God even greater.

I know the Methodist Church here had an incredible class I attended, that opened even more to me about details of God's Gift to me and helped me to raise to a higher level of using it. I can't say if this was a Methodist developed or an outside learning course brought in we went thru. But it was incredible and everyone involved, saw considerable leaps into greater use of God's Gift to each.

I love that Methodist Pastor. While he follows Methodist guidelines for general Church operations, nothing stops him from developing groups for learning to serve God greater and for Glorifying God, regardless of religious guidelines in that way.

Yes! Amen! This is very important to remember.

After replying here, this dreamed was given to me for encouragement...

In the dream, I was concerned over giving what I thought was an unattactively short haircut to a young person...(They didn't seem to mind the hair cut at all.)

Hair can symbolize wisdom.
This was the encouragement...
Much like our hair changes and can grow with time, so will seeking, trusting and obeying God causes wisdom to grow over time in our lives...

So, as C.C. said above...Let's allow God to help us grow...I'm still growing as well!

See, God helps us at times by sharing things with us thru other people, that the reality of God and the need for our attention to the info is heeded.

As such, we can't argue God had to show them this, but also, hearing it from another human means, not only does God know, He shared it with another human like us, to get our attention, since its coming from a physical aspect of our world.

Why God gave you this Gift? Well, God just doesn't choose a person out of the blue, snap His fingers and POOF, they got the Gift. No, God chooses each and every Child of His to recieve at least one of nearly 30 to more, various Gifts of the Spirit. He does this, as He knows who has the ability to carry out the use of this- (these) Gifts in best service for God.

Thus, what each of us is now responcible for, is learning exactly what the Gift(s) are and learn more how to develope and use them to Glorify God even greater.

I know the Methodist Church here had an incredible class I attended, that opened even more to me about details of God's Gift to me and helped me to raise to a higher level of using it. I can't say if this was a Methodist developed or an outside learning course brought in we went thru. But it was incredible and everyone involved, saw considerable leaps into greater use of God's Gift to each.

I love that Methodist Pastor. While he follows Methodist guidelines for general Church operations, nothing stops him from developing groups for learning to serve God greater and for Glorifying God, regardless of religious guidelines in that way.

I am willing to allow God to teach me and develop my gift(s) through books, through those developed in the gift(s), however God so chooses, and most importantly through His Word.

This was the encouragement...
Much like our hair changes and can grow with time, so will seeking, trusting and obeying God causes wisdom to grow over time in our lives...

I also think God shares with us, so we will pray for that person/situation. Sometimes that's all that's required. I think He may show us, knowing that person will not heed a warning from us, but letting us in on where they are headed so we will pray. Sometimes, I think He is saying "This is what will happen if you don't pray." It's a warning. And if we pray, the outcome we saw in the dream or vision can be avoided. Sometimes, it's to show us what has happened; sometimes to show us what can be avoided through prayer. In all cases, it's a call to pray. As we pray for that situaion, God will lead us as to whether to share with the person.

Yes Sis, thats absolutely true, if preknowledge of other attempts to share things failed to get thier positive attention. If reacted negative, then most likely, the reasoning is for praying then.

But, as stated before, its prayer to God that will reveal to us if to talk with them or not, then also how to approach them and words to say.
