Jesus Psycho!

Stephen Baldwin coined the word a few years ago describing himself as a born-again Jesus Psycho! This phrase is catching on in the Austin community as the river of fire is being released from the throne room of grace!

Jesus Psychos are men and women of God not afraid to press in to the glory of God, through radical praise and worship, extreme prayer and seeking His face and not backing down until God has to show up and accomplished His purposes.

"Word of God manifest"
When this is prayed Jesus cannot not show up and heal, deliver, save and baptize with fire and the Holy spirit. He has to because we have His word on it.
  1. John 14:13
" Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
  2. John 15:7
"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
In the late 1960's and early 1970's during the hippie movement, Jesus Freaks was a derrogatory term used to describe born-again Christians. In 1995, Toby Mac of DC Talk used the phrase describing a young generation sold out for Jesus.

Now there is a movement of the Holy Spirit unlike those of the past. This generation is hungry for the presence of the Lord, not just the presents of the Lord. This generation is seeking a face-to-face encounter with The Man, Jesus, not just a 'relevant' message about the Man.

The term psycho is a derragatory phrase used to describe a type of mental illness. I think it is approprate to describe radical Christianity today. Father Abraham was the first Jesus Psycho. He heard a voice and took his son up on the mountain to kill him. Modern day thinking would call that crazy!

Then there was Moses. He told the Pharoah of Egypt to let God's people go! That wasn't very smart, but turned out to be very effective. That too was crazy.

The Bible is full of stories about Jesus Psychos. People willing to sacrifice their lives for the sake of the cross! People who heard voices, and had visions, by todays psychological standards would be called crazy! People that talk with the voices, now that is crazy! People that fall on their face in the presence of the voices they hear, that, too is crazy.

People talking to their sicness and diseases and telling them to go away--that too is crazy. What about speaking to your mountain and telling it to be cast down in the sea? Yup, that too is crazy!

So my friends, I too am a Jesus Psycho! I am crazy aobut the Lord, and unwilling to settle for less!

This seems to be confirmed in the past as well. They said Jesus was beside himself also.

Hos 9:7
The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

Interesting post eagle4him. i had never heard before the term "Jesus psycho". i saw Stephen Baldwins book at the bookstore last time i was there but only had time to have a quick glance at it. its great the way he connects with the young people of today.

I looked up Hos 9:7-9 in the Message and this is how it reads:

Time's up. dooms at the doorstep. its payday!
Did Isreal bluster 'the prophet is crazy! The man of the Spirit is nuts!'
Think again. Because of your great guilt you're in big trouble.
The prophet is looking out for Ephraim, working under God's orders.
But everyone is trying to trip him up
He's hated right in God's house of all places.
The people are going from bad to worse, rivaling that ancient and unspeakable crime at Gibeah.
God's keeping track of their guilt. He'll make them pay for their sins.

I pray that many will be led to faith in Christ tthrough Stephen Baldwin.

R martel, rainbow 788,
Thank you for your kindness. I know I stepped out on this one. It was completely by faith. I kept asking the Lord if I should...is it ok, Daddy?...what if...and I did it anyway. I had some T-shirts printed up "Jesus Psycho" with an orange, red and yellow flame on the front, and "...powered by the Holy Spirit" on the back. We have been meeting in prayer and calling down the glory, the fire and God has been faithful. He cannot not show up or that would make Him a liar. So to all my Psycho friends.....press in, don't give up until God shows up in a mighty and powerful way.

This is just the beginning of God answering my prayer this year." Lord I pray thee show me Your glory".

Now religion will argue with me that "no flesh can see the glory of God and survive" but then we are not in the presence of His glory in our flesh, no the true worshippers worship in spirit and in truth....

I am a Jesus Psycho. I call things that are not as tho they are. I pray to a God I cannot see. I speak to things that are not alive as if they are and I command them to submit to the authority of God. I hear voices and I see angels. I have dreams and visions and I hear the voice of God.

I guess this classifies me as a Jesus Psycho....................

Well, someone at work said the people who go to Creation fest are psycho -- because we raise our hands like were reaching up to touch something. I said, "Been there, done it." I don't care if they call me psycho.

I know they would think I was certifiable with what has been happening to me recently in my private prayer times....as related to watching the Lakeland, Florida revival. Yes, God's Presence, glory and fire can come right into our prayer closets! I have had meetings with Him in awesome ways by just asking Him to come and touch me....Just telling Him He's all I want.

And, no, men HAVE seen the glory of God and lived. Moses was Old Covenant! We are under the new:

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

I believe Jesus takes Joy in this subject and I laugh as well . Many years I have been referred to as a nut but I have grace for this and do think it is kinda funny and no longer affected by this. It is always great to see Radicals at work and Psychos as well ;because of their love of God and his word; even if we are different from the world. I also find it funny when i see people of the worlds jaws drop and something a believer does. I believe it was Katheran
last name______?
who put a chair in the middle of the road and stood on a chair motionless like a statue and all the traffic stopped then she quickly after she had got their attention ran into the church and the crowd followed after being curious;then they locked the church doors. Cool huh?
I have did some funny things as well. How about you ?
