Praise Jesus and thank you Lord for your help this weekend!!!!!!

I'm offically homeless now. We had a terrible time getting everything moved, but the Lord was with us even during the rough moments. I was so tired and sore I couldn't clean the apt so I will not get my deposit back in fact they said they are going to charge me for the cleaning. My body hurts so bad in the area which I was hurt in the car accident, but I am believing in God's help to heal my body! I'm taking today to recover. I feel like a bus ran me over and turned back around to do it again... but I am hopeful and will keep my faith that the Lord has his hand on me and the kids!

God helped us this weekend in so may ways I can't remember them all but here is a few to Praise him for:

I spent the last of our food money on the storage unit. I had no money for gas (at $1.75 a gallon) and had no money for food. My neighbor who I have only spoken to a few times noticed we were moving our furniture out and asked us where we were going, I choked back the tears and said the furniture was going to a storage nearby but the kids and I were going to have to stay in a shelter. She replyed, "just when I get some decent people next to me, they never stay long... they move out" She hugged me and went into the house and came out with $20 and appologized that she didn't have more.
Praise God for her! Bless her oh Lord for her thoughtfulness.

We had been using my 18 year old daughter's boyfriends truck to move stuff to the storage. It was packed to the hilt and wouldn't start. We unpacked it and it got towed to a Christian auto mechanic that we know and he fixed it. The bill was over $700 but he said that they could make payments! Praise God for Scott the mechanic!!! Please pray for his shop.. he is doing so much work 'on payments' and totally for free to help out needy families that he is in jepardy of loosing his shop!!!!! Please Jesus, help Scott with a finanical break through.

I thought I was going to loose all the furniture I couldn't move and the truck wasn't going to be fixed in time. I was depressed on Sunday night. But I prayed for the Lord's deliverance. On Monday morning I went to the leasing agent and told her what happend and she gave me one extra day to move. (this from the woman who throws elderly people, families and the disabiled out on the street regularly) Shortly there after a woman named Maggie called me asked me how I was doing and said she was electronically depositing the money for the truck and some gas into my savings account!!!! This woman is been in and out of the hospital with health problems for months. Praise you Jesus for sending Maggie into my life and bless her generous heart!!

The kids and I are going to have to spend time in the shelter until I can get enough money together to even apply for a couple of rent controled apts (all in drug and ****** infested areas).

Suggestions have been made to me to ask some churches for help. I go to church tomorrow and will speak to someone at Calvary. I hope they can help a little.

I am believing that the Lord will provide a way for us, but I should could use your prayers. Thank you all for those who have prayed for us and I pray the Lord answers all your prayers and provides for all your needs.

Homeless but not hopeless in Arizona

Sweety....

If you guys could get to New York, I have room in my home for your family. I have an extra bedroom. And you can have my bed. My place is in a VERY nice neighborhood, very quiet...close to schools.

Can you get here?

Posted by: Copper

Oh, dear Talena, I was also going to say if she could only get to Arizona, that I would love to help her find a place too!!! lol, we both would love to help, There are tons of agencies here in Asheville and Hendersonville who would just love to help you and your dear little children. We are in the mountains, and the town of Hendersonville is quaint and kind of left from another era. I wish you could come here. You and your children are definitely in my prayers, and I will tell all of my friends and family about you too. I came here seven years ago with just 500.00 cash, my car, and a little trailer with a mattress and incidental items in it. God has seen me through and helped me and my children to build a life and home. I have a wonderful church family too now. Please consider taking a step, pray over it. I will pray too. Anyway, if you really are interested email me.
Just remember, that God is with you. I pray diligently for the next three days, you have my promise, every hour. We will ask for a breakthrough, don't lose hope. Remember God gives us trials to help us grow. I really wish I was there and could physically help, but I learned recently, through my husband's absence, that God is more powerful and stronger than me. He brought my husband back, and I did not lift a finger or say a word, so I will pray for you. How many children did you say you had again? Also, don't forget to email me if you God places it on your heart to move. Furniture and household items can be gotten anywhere, remember that I came here with nothing and made it. God will provide for you and your children no matter where you are. I will pray that God will give you discernment to know his will, and the strength to carry whatever that may be through. Also, let me know how your arm is doing.
luv, copper
will be praying...

Sharon,
Although I have not experienced your situation, I do believe nothing is impossible for our God. He wants us to surrender every detail of our lives to him. He is a God of such order and detail, nothing is too small for him. I was looking at a peacock feather tonight, and noticed the thousands of tiny feathers on it, and just stood in awe of the trouble God took to make each and every one. How much more does He care for us?! I know that He will lead you , step by step. Keep looking to Him. He opens His hand and satisfies the desires of every living thing.

Father God, I lift up Sharon and her family to you now. We agree together that there is nothing impossible for you. I pray for peace and safety for them as they move to the shelter. May you use them as a witness for you in that place. May her ears be open to what you want to say to her , and may she always look to you. You are our Jehovah Jireh, and you know our needs before we ask. Please provide her with transportation, food , housing , clothing, and whatever else she might need. Stir up the body of Christ in her community to provide for her and demonstrate your great love. Thank you for all that you have already done in their lives. We love you, Abba.
In Jesus name, Amen.

Sharon,
Thank God you are okay. Is there anyone that I can personally contact in Arizona? I am at least closer than the others, want to come to New Mexico? I wanted to call every church in Phoenix and have them look for you but I didn't know where to tell them to look. Please let us know as often as you can that you are okay. I will be in prayer for you and your children. Could you personal mail me your old landlords name and address, I think I want to talk to her.

God bless,

Jan

Well, It's day 3 of the homeless family saga.

We open our scene with the two youngest boys, ages 8 and 9 at their grandmothers house. The father of the two boys has gone off to california with his new girlfriend and left his sons with his elderly (75 year old) mother. The youngest of the two boys, Justin threw a rock and broke a kitchen window. Needless to say, the grandmother wants Sharon (me) to pick them up today, instead of tomorrow like they agreed.

Scene change: Phoenix shelter somewhere downtown Phoenix Arizona.
We open to find a population of 75% mexican/american/non english speaking suffering souls and the rest a mixure of black and white americans. No drugs or addicts are allowed, just down on their luck families. It's a noisy place, but clean. Showers are available, but hot water is in short supply. We find our lady of distress, the mother of these four boys rushing to wake the two older boys, ages 14 and 15. Time to put on the ROTC uniform for Jeremy, the oldest of the brood. As per the regulation in the ROTC program, all cadets have to have shiny shoes and a clean uniform, Jeremy is frustrated because he has smuges on his pants from moving them in the truck and his shoes are dull. He infoms his mother that he will get points taken off for sloppyness! As they rush the 30 miles up to the Peoria High school, praying that the gas will hold out and the traffic will ease up, they are late by 4 minutes and so the children must go to "sweep" which means they have to sit in a room, doing nothing until first hour class is over. A punishment for being tardy.

The lady of this story, Sharon, goes to the post office hoping to find her child support check so that she can pay her cell phone bill by today, the due date, so it will not be cut off. But alas, it's not among the junk mail, throw away ads or christian literature she gets handed at the counter. She asks about how she can get a po box and they inform her that she needs a valid address before she can even GET A PO BOX!!! Her frustration mounts higher as she calls the school to let them know about their homeless situation, where she is told the kids may not be able to attend Peoria schools because they don't live in Peoria anymore.

She calls the church she has been attending since the beginning of the year, Calvary Community Church http://www.calvaryphx.com/ unfortunately for her, they can only offer her a list of homeless shelters which is not even as complete as the one she already has. The nice lady behind the church desk offers to pray for Sharon and her family and Sharon gladfully prays in agreement for the Lord's miracles and provisions.

Now she sits at the Peoria Library... wondering what she should do. She can't apply for a job, because she doesn't have a contact phone number after tomorrow (phone will be cut off then) and she doesn't have an address to put on the application. Her frustration is mounting higher and higher.

She reaches out for a word of encouragement from a wonderful Christian website named annointed.net and prays that the Lord will soon end this misery and poverty.

Until next time... the saga continues....

Hey Jan, and to everyone too
thanks for praying for us, I have to hone my faith now and not give up. I will be stressing a little over the details of it all, but I will focus on God the father, Jesus the savior and the Holy Spirit's guidance.

As to your questions.
Because of legal issues, my sons are not allowed to leave the state of Arizona. I have 'joint' custody of the two youngest boys with their dad, but I have physical custody of all of them. All out of state visits and moves must be approved by the court. There is more about this, but I can explain in detail for those who ask.

I've never been to New Mexico but here it's nice!

The shelters are run by a catholic church and the other one is run by a church, but we didn't go there yet. There are 3 family shelters in the valley that we qualify for, but all are in central phoenix.

As for being okay, I'm alive, I'm feeling very sick and have a doctor appointment tomorrow (no gas to get the kids to school and the doctor, so I will forgo that appointment for now)

I need constant prayers to interceed to our Lord for a breakthrough miracle. All prayers are appreciated.

Also, please pray for Brad from the board here, he is discouraged and his tempted to give up on God's blessings. Pray for delieverance from his depression. Thanks

Praise to the Lord Jesus for all your loving encouragement!

Sharon

As for calling all the churches, since the first of the year we have attended calvary community church in Phoenix.... website addy: http://www.calvaryphx.com/ if you want to contact them and ask them WHY they don't help a homeless family in their very own church you can. (everybody keeps asking me that, and I don't know the answer) The shelters are run by a catholic church and the other one is run by a church, but we didn't go there yet. There are 3 family shelters in the valley that we qualify for, but all are in central phoenix.

Sharon,
I have just contacted Calvary and left a message for someone to call me back immediatley.Unfortunately they close at 4p.m. and I am 50 minutes too late.I will be call them 1st thing tomorrow morning. I have been attending Calvary for many many years. I would like to know why MY church won't help you out!!! I come faithfully every weekend to praise the Lord and I pay them well. And to find out they aren't helping people like you and in your situation? Belive you me they will be hearing from me. If I have to speak with pastor Mark myself, I am so extremely upset about this whole ordeal. If anyone else would like to help you you can reach Calvary at 602-973-4768 between 9 am - 4 pm. Sharon I need to know your last name or something about you so when they change there mind about you they know who to be expecting? Tell me something about you please?? I will be sending an e-mail to them as well. www.calvaryphx.com I guess I just don't understand how we are all Christian and I sit here and want to come pick you up and take you home and my fellow church members send you away? This is something I need to pray about. Sharon honey you stay strong and I WILL BE HERE!! Keep us posted. I know that the Peoria Library at 85th and Monroe will allow you to go there and use the computer. If they don't let me know. I will give them a call. My friend's daughter is Head of the student councel at Peoria High School. If your boys are told they can't attend anymore let me know that too. My friend's daughter can personally address that issue with the principal. Just pass the 101 on Peoria on the north side of the road there is a DES office, I want you to go in and tell them you are currently homless trying to get on your feet and they will give you a food box right there. Okay? Okay I am going to go now but you keep me posted okay?

I leave in prayer,

Lord heavenly father Sharon needs you right now. She love you so very much and she is trying to get back on her feet. Lord heal her hurt body and make her well enough to find work to support her family. Lord I am trying right now not to be angry at the church I guess I just don't understand why they turned Sharon away? Lord only you know why? I don't ask for answers to the things you do I just ask for provisions. Provide for Sharon and her family right now in their rough time. Lord I leave Sharon and her family in your hands tonight. Keep them safe and keep them healthy. In jesus name.Amen

WOW! IT'S LIKE YOUR MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR!! The posts you see writen were all made using the library computers at 85th and Monroe. I also go to the maricopa workforce center on Peoria Ave west of 95th to search for jobs and see their latest job posts. I use their internet to check my email, but they don't like it when you use the internet for anything else but job searching.

As for DES and food, today we are okay with the Food issue. Mainly because we just got food stamps so that's a good thing, PRAISE GOD FOR THAT BLESSING
the only problem is I have a tiny car, I have an ice chest, no fridge (of course with no home that goes without saying) so I only buy stuff in cans or boxes or fresh to eat promptly. We had turkey sandwiches for dinner and they were very tasty!

Now, regarding the rest of your wonderful post.... I talked to my youngest son's teacher this morning and she refered me to a Peoria School district 'homeless and at risk family' advicate. She was GREAT! She called me this afternoon and told me that Peoria High shouldn't have threatened me with removal of the kids and that she was going to personally talk to them and make sure that if I'm able and willing to drive them to the school every morning that they WILL and SHOULD allow my oldest sons to attend their 'home school' of Peoria High and keep some normal activities in their lives!! She said I should go to the district office tomorrow to meet with her and her boss Barbara so that's my plan!! The Lord used her to put my mind at ease. She is working on finding some referals too. Only bad thing is that the shelter we were in is full tonight. We don't have anywhere to sleep after church tonight, but that's okay, we will just get our camping tent and go to Lake Pleasent and pretend like we are just out for a camping trip!!

Now as for Calvary Church, I don't know what the deal is. In their defence, as I have posted in the past, they helped me once, this last July, with a check for $250 which was my rent late fees and penalty costs. (the fees were as high as $300 when you were late) They told me they couldn't help me again, but I was greatful for that blessing. I love pastor Mark's services and the kids love the children's ministry. Maybe they are focusing on getting the church fixed up and need the money for the space that Pastor Mark keeps asking us to pray for!! Maybe they only help one time and that's all they can do.... I don't know. Everyone keeps asking me if I have asked the church for help and as some of you have seen, they don't say much when you call them.

My full name is Sharon Nicholson. My two oldest sons will be with me at service tonight at Calvary. We attend every sunday and wednesday (except this past weekend when we were moving everything into storage!) I have put several people from this board up for prayer at Calvary. I usually fill out at least one card a week for everyone here!!

I will send you a PM and give you more details.

Now the while I have a couple of minutes left before they close the library, I wanted to share a PRAISE REPORT with you!!

There are two people on this board who have called me and offered to assist me. I'm not certain if they want their names known, so I will not mention who they are But I am so very greatful and full of renewed HOPE IN THE LORDS PLAN because one has PAID MY PHONE BILL!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! There is also one who has said she will send a donation! Praise You Lord and I pray you will bless them 100 fold! Also bless those who are praying for me! Because we know it is through prayer that we come closer to You Lord!

I will not give up Hope, but I will be thankful for every moment of life that He has given me, with or without a place to sleep, it's all okay if I keep focused on Jesus!!!!

Well, I will pray for everyone tonight and be back on tomorrow!

PRAISE THE LORD!

FATHER GOD, PLEASE HELP THESE PEOPLE FIND COMFORT IN THE MIDST OF THEIR DILEMMA. SWEET JESUS, SHOW THEM THE WAY TO GET THE HELP THEY NEED. SEND YOUR ANGELS TO MINISTER THEM AS YOU HAVE MINISTERED TO ME IN THE PAST WHEN I WAS IN THE SAME SITUATION. GIVE THEM STRENGTH AND COURAGE AND BREAK THROUGH THE BONDAGE THEY FIND THEMSELVES IN, FATHER. I ASK THIS IN JESUS' NAME, ACCORDING TO THY WILL.

thank you for your prayers. knowing that God helped you in this situation is a comfort. I am believing in Him to help me.

The shelters are all full today. The one we stayed at, which I thought we could go back to was a 3 day shelter only. I thought it was 30 days, but it's a short term placement. My mistake.

Right now all 4 boys and I are going to go 'camping' out by Lake Pleasent. Since we have camping gear and no place to go tonight I figured we could go out there. We don't have the money to be at an offical campsite, so we will take the little blue Ford Aspire (tiny car!!) and go as far off road as we can without s****ing the bottom.

I will not be able to post for a few days then. So don't worry about us, but please continue to pray for some kind of break through soon!!!

Your grateful sister in Christ,

Sharon

gone from bad to worse!!

As for the camping trip... it was a disaster!! We got there at 8pm thrusday night and by 11:30 we were in a terrible thunder storm. Our tent blew down, our sleeping bags got soaked and it was 1:30am by the time we got to sun city and crashed on my very sick friends' floor. It was a nightmare the next day trying to get all the wet, muddy camping gear into our tiny little ford aspire (which is all muddy and wet now)

The worst part about all this is that everything we had to sleep on is wet and muddy. It seems like things have gone from bad to worse. We are at a very unstable home right now. It's with a couple who are fighting, swaring and smoking pot. I hate it. It's really not good. I'm working on getting into a shelter, but can't even call them back until monday, and some are closed for columbis day and not open until Tuesday.

We need your prayer now... Please Lord, deliver us from this situation!! Thank you God for sparing our lives during the storm and bring us into your plan soon Jesus!!!!

My Friends... thank you for lifting me up to our Heavenly Father... I want you to know that I appreciate it... But Just so you know that message, my message, was posted in October 2003. Since then God has been so faithful and He has blessed my socks off!!! The Lord has blessed me with a good job as a phone banker, brought a wonderful Christian man to me and we are to be married May 12th and Jesus got us out of the homeless shelter and blessed me and my 4 sons with a home of our own!!!!!!

I did post a message recently on another thread on this board about our wonderful blessings and I did it for all those who are suffering through adversity just like I was. I struggled for months, had some bad days and some super wonderful days and God was there with us the whole time bringing us through all the problems. Not only was I blessed but I have been blessed beyond what was taken away.

I never doubted in the Power of our Lord and savoir Jesus and prayed everyday for blessings. I also tithed 10% of my income, even when I only had $645 a month to live on. God is faithful and He loves YOU so don't give up, 'pray always' and wait on the Lord's faithfullness!

I lift you up to our precious God in Heaven for a bounty of blessings like He has given me!!!

Love to you all!!

Yes! Praise God! I praise him and thank Him not only for my blessings but for the thoughtfulness and selflessness of people like you and Morgan!! Please tell her from me that IT IS BECAUSE OF HER PRAYERS THAT MY LIFE AND THE LIFE OF MY 4 SONS HAVE BEEN IMPROVED!! Her prayers and all others who take the time and effort to think of those in need will be blessed beyond measure by our Lord. God sees that and smiles! He knows Morgan's heart and will bless her life through all satans future tricks. Please make sure you tell her that I will pray for the Lord's guidance, blessings and love for her entire life.

Heavenly Father, I thank you that you have answered our prayers and I have a humble request... Please shine your love, mercy and great unending blessings on your children who have lifted my family up for your help. This wonderful little child blessed my heart so much with her LOVE. God bless this sweet angel and her mother and their family with a cup overflowing. You have given us strength in our faith and I pray You will reward their faith in You for an eterity.

Be with Jeri and so many others on this board and bring them an answer to their prayers. God I thank You for the job You gave me but my heart is troubled because I can't spend the time on this board to respond to all the prayers like I really want to.

Lord I thank you for the adversity you have brought me through and I understand it was for good just as your WORD says... "all things work for the good for those who love the Lord" I praise You! I love You!! and I need You always Jesus. Please help my beloved sisters and brothers on this prayer board and on other Christian websites to see you, take comfort that You are with them always and please Jesus hear their cries, bless their lifes and answer their prayers. In Jesus' awesome name I pray!!! AMEN

Never give up for He will reward the faithful! My love flows for all of you and will try and get to this board more often now that I have internet in my home again.

Dear Sharon:

This is Jerry, I am so happy I just want to shout. I love it when the windows of heaven open. Thank you for sharing the blessing with us. So many including myself have been praying for you here.
Jerirose spoke of a thread to post your testimoney in. If you would not mind doing so it would help others just like you.

I am praying for you right now thank you again for being part of our family.

God has a sence of humor.
While I was posting the above prayer you already were in the thread I asked you to go to.

I just love the Holy Spirit. We were both on the same page at the same time.

Thank you Sharon for being so close to the Holy Spirit.
