You need them to be readjusted. Are the stitches gone yet? If so are you using adhesive? I am not sure exactly what your procedure was. I am still with the temp plate and only the top. My bottom broke. No money to get new at the moment. I put a line of adhesive all the way around where they fit on your gums. and some on the part that goes to the roof of your mouth. You say you can't talk, is that because they are not staying in properly? Let me know exactly, and maybe I can tell ya what to do. Your friend in Christ, Debbie |

I am a public speaker, and it is rare that anyone knows that I have dentures. When speaking, you must open your mouth quite a bit wider than when you had your own teeth. It is definitely a trial, but one that can be endured and eventually you will learn to appreciate your dentures. I will pray for you that God will help you meet this new challenge. He is concerned about all areas of our lives, even our teeth. God bless and things will get better for you. Take heart. Moki

Hear my prayer, O Lord; listen to my cry! Don't sit back, unmindful of my tears. For I am your guest. I am a traveler passing through the earth, as all my fathers were. Spare me, Lord. Let me recover and be filled with happiness again...(Psalms 39: 12-13) Is anyone among you suffering? He should keep on praying about it.... the earnest prayer of a righteous man has GREAT POWER and wonderful results. (James 5: 13-16) Dear God I pray for bjc. For the pain of this problem is causing such sorrow. Dear father thank you for the chance to intercede on BJC's behalf. For the honor to come before you. This is your child, you have watched for so long. Come to your child now lord and provide your comfort, healing, and peace. The hand of God is around us now and we thank you lord for your mercy and your love for us. Thank you Father for hearing my prayer. Thank you for the answer and for your son, Jesus. In Christ's name I pray, AMEN |

I do remember a night where I couldn't talk right , but soon over came it. Learning to eat differently was my big thing. The chewing. You will have to cut your meat smaller, and learn to chew on both sides at the same time. I was use to chewing on one side due to bad teeth on the other side. One way that was told to me to learn to grasp the chew technique is take a bunch of potato chips and just chew them. As for the roof of the denture, when you put the top plate in do you push up on the roof to get it secure? That is what I do. Right now, I am dealing with the denture being too big. I need to get my permanent set. It isn't that bad, but still, I enjoyed the day when I could slap them in and talk immediately. Now I wait about 30 mins. My kids laugh at me, cause they will ask me something and I am humming to them. I also press my tongue to the roof while waiting for them to be secure. You will get the hang of it, and remember once you do , you will be happier. Good Luck, Debbie |

Some people have the teeth pulled and it is a matter of 3 weeks before they ever get the temp plate. My dentist pulled all 31 and put the temp in right away. The temp set is made with your swollen gums in mind, and they can only be relined so many times. My case 2. As far as using adhesive once you get the permanent set, I think it depends on the dentist that makes them. We went the cheap route, compared to some of the dental prices out there. All teeth pulled and temp set for 1200.00. My husband has his permanent ones and still must use adhesive. The bottom plate come loose on its own at night. I don't know how anyone doesn't use adhesive on the bottom plate, due to there is no suction as in with the top plate. I too, know a lady who doesn't use adhesive. If you think of it could you ask your friend what the secret is and tell me too. Take care and hope to talk to you soon, Debbie |
