My son

Please pray for my son, who is 6 years old. He is in 1st grade and having trouble staying focused and following directions. He is currently on medication for AD/HD. Attention Defici/Hyperactivity Disorder. I have had his medication changed numerous times and really hate to have to have it increased again. We have just moved into our first home and I know that is an adjustment. I have had a conference with the principal, teacher, p.e. teacher, and art teacher. We have begun a behavior chart and have entered the 2nd day with this. He still is not completing class work due to talking. I pray that God will help him to be more focused and able to follow directions. Your prayers are greatly appreciated.

Sheri, my youngest son was diagnosed with this in about the 3rd grade. It seemed as though as long as he got about 12 hours of sleep, he did ok without medicine. He was that way from birth. Then when I had to go back to work, he was 1 yr. old, he stopped getting enough sleep and cried all the time.

We had the same problem you are having now. We did put him on medicine for several years, but felt bad about doing that. Then he was tested and found out to be an audio learner. This meant that written tests were hard, if not impossible.

Actually ADHD is a blessing. This child can keep up with 10 things at one time. These are the kids that we are going to need to help us keep up with everything in the very near future. What we need now, is an anointed teacher who can teach teachers how to teach our kids.

I'm tired of labels getting put on our babies at such a young age. The educators feel justified, maybe not, in letting these kids fall through the cracks. I even read a book about this condition and the authors recommended sterilization for people diagnosed with this problem! Can you believe that?

Father, in the Name of Jesus, if our system of education cannot find a solution to this problem, I pray that You will give the solution to the Church, that Your will can be done. Amen.

Heavenly Father, may you be merciful to this boy, a child of yours. Clear his mind and heart of fear and doubt and replace it with love and peace. Anoint this boy to hear and understand you. Give him patience and peace. You are Lord of him and his family. I ask you Jesus to intercede for them and bring them your guidance and love and healing. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
