Rising Above the Trials

Recently during worship we sang "Days of Elijah." During the line "Behold He comes riding on the clouds, shining like the sun..." the Lord gave a me new perspective of that. He showed me that the clouds represented the trials and tribulations we endure in this life. If, however, we overcome and rise about the clouds (trials) we will see our Lord shining brightly like the sun. He shines brightly above every trial we encounter in our life. It is up to us to press through into glory.
In the King James Version the verse which that line is derived from says this: Revelation 1:7
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

He cometh with clouds. He comes with trial. Christ is formed in us as the fire of trial burns away our flesh and forges His character within us. It is when the entire body of Christ, the bride, becomes pure and spotless without blemish our wrinkle that He will return for us. The only way we will become the pure spotless bride He is returning for is if we first pass through the clouds, crucify our flesh with its own lusts and desires, and let Him form Himself within us.
Let's not pray for deliverance from our trials. We're in them by His design. Rather, pray that through our trials His name will be glorified and His Son will be formed within you. Embrace them as the priceless treasures they are. Do not be discouraged when trouble befalls you, but know that Christ loves you and is working in your life to bring you into greater glory. I leave you with this verse to write on the table of your heart:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28)

Hey Barrett. This is similar to something that the Lord gave me one time during worship. That He wanted us to jump out of the boat and dance with Him on the waves of our circumstances, the things that would try to overwhelm us.
I really get blessed when I hear people get things during worship. Have you ever thought of journaling any of this? I hope you do so that when the things try to come on you, you have those times you can go back to and review what the Lord has shared with you.
Take care!

Ella

You bet I journal. I was writing furiously in my notebook when I got the revelation. And this wasn't the only one I got that day. That's why I write articles like this one. It drills it more into my heart and hopefully plants it in the hearts of others.

Hi, Barrett!

Sometimes song lyrics minister on more than one level...one for our soul and one for our spirit. There is the song we sing about being romanced by the King...and dancing through the night around His throne.

One night it struck me...hey, wait!! There is no night in heaven. There is no darkness. How can we dance through the night when there isn't one??? Then the Lord began to show me the darkness that comes into our lives. It is a time we need to warfare in song and dance. As we minister to Him at His throne in our time of greatest need, our darkness will become light as we spend time in the Light.

Don't you love those God-nuggets that get dropped into our spirits?
As we learn and experience more and more about God, He reveals so much to us continually.

Thanks so much for sharing!!

God's blessings and revelation to you,
Vicki

I LOVE that song. I'd actually asked myself the same question about dancing through the night. That revelation is enlightening.
The Lord actually gave me a second scripture concerning the first post I put here. The verse is from Psalm 97:2 and reads as follows:

Clouds and darkness are round about Him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of His throne.

This just magnified the effect of the revelation. I know when God repeats Himself that what He is saying is very important, so I intend to study this further.

I usually have long, almost epic replies, but to your post, all I can say is "Thank You" This has opened my eyes, and given me a new, fresh perspective with which to reach out during my trials...

I am in agreement with anthony here. This has definately helped me understand my trials better. There is not much to say other than Praise God!!!

The Storms of Life: God’s Purpose

Our God is a God of purpose, which means that even the storms of life have a reason. So what does God have in mind for the tempests we encounter?

Cleansing. Through our difficulties and hardships, ungodly attitudes and habits will surface—ones that God wants to purify. Some of them will surprise us; others will be sins that we are struggling to eliminate or that we are ignoring. King David experienced this truth when the prophet Nathan confronted him about his sin. (2 Samuel 12:1-15) David later said, “Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep Your word” (Psalm 119:67).

Companionship. If we were to ask the Lord, what do You want from me most of all, He would say, “I want an intimate relationship with You. I want you to experience My love and love Me in return. I want you to surrender yourself to Me so we can walk closely together all your life. I want to reveal Myself to you as God.” God uses trials to reveal to us everything that competes with our love, loyalty, and devotion to Him. He alone is to have first place in our lives.

We would prefer to learn the lessons of the Christian life through pleasant times, wouldn’t we? But God, who knows us well, sends or permits just what we need so we might walk in purity at His side. Is there thunder booming in your life? Look to your heavenly Father and trust His purposes in it.
